SNOW!!! I <3 the snow globe house. I must have this in my life because well... SNOW GLOBE! I hope this is like the witches festival house and bought with gold and a festival cheevie.

I DO agree with the people that say this house needs to be a furnishing that you can place inside your house to have a house INSIDE a house!! Even if you don't do that could we still perhaps have a snow globe furnishing?? please!

It took me forever to find this house (I had to ask on another post) because the house icons shows up on Eastmarch map but NOT on the whole world map...

I love that it is a quaint small sized home. While I love the big homes it is nice to have smaller ones to tinker with every now and then. The snow was just the icing on the cake for me

I Would love to be able to procure this house to play around with it as well as the other new home!

Anyone have a video of the snowglobe home? I'm going to try to get on to PTS tonight, but thought I'd check and see. I'm really curious about it, but also a bit disappointed that it's what we're getting instead of a small cottage in a snowy area with a beautiful night sky and snow falling. Ah well...I'll reserve judgment until I see it. It does sound like a cool concept, though.

ETA: I watched the video of the Xanmeer home, and while it does look amazing, it's far too large for my tastes. Lots of people wanted a Xanmeer home, so of course, they go overboard and give us a giant property outside and a hugely oversized indoor area that will be impossible to decorate properly. Sure, the aquarium is cool, but if this thing costs the same as the Orbservatory, I'll be surprised.

I'd love, love, love to have small/medium homes in the DLC areas - heck, even an apartment would be nice. So tired of all these stupid oversized "homes."

lol Yeah, go for it. I am a huge housing nerd and building guild halls and crazy structures is something that keeps me returning to ESO over and over and over.

Yes! I was so sad to find out Grymharth, the only house in Eastmarch, had no outdoor area at all. I made my mistveil into a snowy yard but it's just not the same. Was really hoping for a real wintery feel with snow and northern lights, as you said.

Can anyone share any information about the music boxes? Specifically how they are obtained. I assumed we would buy them with writ vouchers, so I want to know if I should do some master writs I have or sell them.

Well I checked the master writ guy.. and faustina... nothing new on either.
I have also checked the new furnishings vendors nothing there music box type either...

Damn, that is worrying. Nobody else has found anything about music boxes yet? Don't make them crown store exclusives Zos... that would be such a waste.

On another note, I saw a video of the Snowglobe house and loved it. Hopefully it will be obtainable during the New Life Festival, but the size of it has me concerned. I don't want to spend all my money on a house.

There are many posts with furniture requests of items that are already in the game, but almost each request is ignored by the devs. Why is that? Instead you are pushing forward in the same direction that is criticised by the community interested in housing. Which is more large manors with limited furnishing slots which will look disappointing.

Some of the requests are quite modest, like already existing flowers, vegetation, small items, planters (with soil), etc. You added some extra items to the Summerset vendor, which is great. The features you added to the decorating part are nice and useful, but people are asking to use more from the stuff we see in game for years, and you ignore that. So my feedback is to look over these requests or at least tell us why is it hard or impossible for us to have those items.

    Feedback on Snow globe House:

ZOS, please get rid of the ugly red tent overhead. It's super ugly.

Edit: Also, the fire is too low in the fireplace. It looks like the logs are being roasted (although I'm sure someone will post that it needs to be lower).

    ********************************************************************************

Baring that, depending on how high we can float furnishings in there, I may try covering the tent with "Volcanic Plugs", available from the Vivec Furnishing vendor for 500 gold each. Ice flows look a little better but are crown only and out of my price range.

    • Was the new Undo/Redo feature in the housing editor clear on how to use it? Yes
    • Were you able to use Undo/Redo effectively? Yes
    • Was the item grouping clear and easy to use? Yes
    • Did you try using item grouping with multiple people interacting with it? No
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

This item grouping is very nice and it remembers your groupings between sessions (you can leave house and return and it remembers which items you grouped.

Housing Concern: The new furniture recipes use Hackwing Plumage which is apparently from the new Murkmire dailies (Delve, Village or WB). I tried two dailies today and got zero Hackwing Plumage. This was a big issue in Summerset with Culanda Lacquer. Please ensure the Hackwing Plumage drops now (given that its motif won't until the new year) AND that the drop rate is very good, guaranteed would be best!

I did tour the two new homes and I found both amazing! Snow-Globe is a fantastic idea and love seeing the tent through the top of the globe too! Nice detail. The Lakemire is breathtaking, concerned about item count and found some invisible walls blocking corners in the aquarium-room. This probably is similar to the problem with Sithis' Teeth where such invisible walls seem to be everywhere and it uses the same architecture pieces.

When they announced music boxes, I had assumed they'd be CS only and would only contain one song, so you have to keep buying them. Perhaps we'd be able to earn a free one somewhere along the way. That's me being cynical, I know, but with every new feature they implement, they HAVE to monetize it somehow. I can't see this feature being something that will be entirely free.

ETA: I just watched a video of the snow globe home and I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, the snow globe idea is pretty cool and the house is a lighthouse, which is nice, and they didn't go overboard with the size of the surrounding property. On the other hand, it's not the cozy little winter cottage I was hoping for, in the NORD style. This is an Imperial house (the lighthouse from Anvil). I'm assuming part of the reason for making it a lighthouse in a snow globe rather than a nice winter cottage is so that they can sell more Imperial furnishings in the CS. Well...if I get this, I'll just use Breton furniture, thanks. And when I say if, it largely has to do with the pricing. I can't see this being available for gold at the same price as the Exorcised Coven Cottage, which was 250K. If this is priced close to 1M gold, that will leave out a lot of players.

One song per music box is how IRL music boxes work. However, two boxes have been datamined, and speculation is fun:

"Blood and Glory" - Probably the battle songs we know from bards?
"Flickering Shadows" - Given the timing, maybe creepy/sinister music for Halloween stuffs? The image for this one is Coldharbour-esque so...

Eventually, I hope there will be some music like what they had on the very first housing stream with the hearth. I want calm, homey music more than battle/creepy stuffs.

Given the repetitiveness of some of the bards, I'd be likely to dropkick a music box if it only played one song... :|

They could work more like a jukebox, where you can add songs to them, but it sounds like from the datamine, that they will be individual music boxes. I'm still assuming many will be CS only, with a few doled out here and there from achievements or holidays, but I'm happy to be wrong. Also, I hope they are treated as a collectible, so that they don't count toward the normal furnishing count (though I assume that people who want to put all their busts/trophies on display would disagree).

    Regarding the snowglobe house:

    1. It is amazing and I really like it. Its the perfect size.
    2. I agree with others, I wish the sky didn't see the inside of the tent and had more of Northern Lights feel.
    3. The fire looks wimpy in the fireplace. It needs to be brighter and more grandiose.
    4. What is the music playing in there? I do not recall it and its beautiful. Is there anyway for me to know?

    Thanks!

The Mirkmire patch is increasing Collectible Furnishings by a small amount. This small increase could be an indicator of which category the new music boxes would fall under. Or it just could be to keep up with SS and MM and the new trophies/busts they brought with them.

Then again, as it would be quite odd to be able to place multiple in the same home due to multiple songs playing at once, I wouldn't be surprised if they got their own category with a limit of 1 per house when they are introduced.

Good observations. They could even be classed as special furnishings and then further you could only display one at a time. Regardless, I'd just like to preserve as much of the normal furnishing slots as I can for other things and not have the music box be "yet another thing I want for which I have to remove something else to place."

In any case, I agree that doing a daily should guarantee a style mat to drop, but if not, at least we can decon the sets for them.

"As much as I was looking forward to a New Life Festival snow cottage, this home disappointed me in some ways.

I also wanted something that more closely made me think of winter and "Christmas" and a lighthouse does not, but it isn't the part that bugs me. The place just needs a better sky and snowy pine trees, with or without lights(wish we had magic christmas-light trees)"

I don't like quoting the whole thing. For what it's worth (and this is far, far, far from my usual area of operation) lighthouses are considered a religious symbol associated with the holidays. The whole guidance thing...

I agree with you on seeing the tent in the sky. I'd much rather have a cloudy, snow filled sky. An aurora would be terrific.

Other than that, eh, I'd probably buy it for gold. If it is available for gold.

I agree with both of these - I have a relativly large guild, and when I suggest the idea of a snow cottage in eastmarch, with a decent size house, and area surrounding in the thick of winter, they love the idea. I think that would be a massive seller. And I think everyone wants a piece of skyrim (god forbid I mention the name) in a house. Either way, its better to have the house than to have no house! Keep up the good work x

Also, I forgot to say, there are still the same problems with placing items....as I reported before in the PTS Update 19 housing feedback.

I'll copy/paste what I said, as there is no improvement:

"I have two queries about placing furnishings. They are not limited to the PTS, but seem to be worse.

First, after placing an item, if you haven't got it quite right (which happens most of the time) and try to edit it, when you click on the item again the viewing angle is completely skewed. Which makes it ten times harder to correct.

Secondly, as above but a different problem arises....not only is the viewing angle wrong, but also the item is no longer in the same spot. It appears to have shifted, so instead of what might have been a minor adjustment you end up by having to resite the item from square one."

This time round I've been finding this especially when trying to place Orc Platform, Block (maybe because I've used a lot of them in my new build) . But it is not limited to that item. Before this update it happened all the time with the Alinor walls and fences, which I was using for my Psijic Villa build. So I guess it seems to be related to construction items, if that is of any help.

To be honest this just makes an already difficult job harder, and is a source of massive frustration.

@Carbonised omg I didn't notice Elder Argonian was a set style that dropped - all I saw was Culanda nightmare repeat!

Thank you! (I even have Elder Argonian items in my inventory on pts lol)

@RaddlemanNumber7 The Music Box uses the "Effects" volume not the "Music" Volume.

"Adjusted the Argonian Ceremonial pool for easier placement." Where do we find this pool mentioned in the patch notes?!

@Aurelle1 I can't reproduce your first problem with the viewing angle changing when you select an item the second time to adjust it.

I think I have seen your second problem (item drastically moving when selected) but it is very intermittent.

It plays one tune, called "Blood and Glory". It's one of the old TES theme tunes.

It's not full orchestration though. It really does sound like a music box, except for what sounds like some very subtle brass or woodwind accompaniment. But it plays a little too quietly, there may be some low volume notes I'm not hearing.

Thanks! Hopefully, these won't be too expensive. Anything more than 500 crowns and I'll pass. If they're around 1000 crowns, I MIGHT get ONE. But, then, I'm not really that worried about having music in my home. The ones that do, and who have been asking for this, may likely be willing to spend more.

The music box is very underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, the tune (the original main screen music from ESO back in the days) is nicely done, I assume it's Brad Derreck's honor, but:

      - It's only one very small song snippet for an entire box
      - it's clear you need to buy 1 box per song, as a box will not play more than 1 song
      - It's not a "jukebox" as many of us had hoped, where you can obtain several pieces of music for your jukebox collection, then play whichever one you wanted
      - It's clear this is going to be crown store exclusive, instead of putting them on the mastercrafter voucher vendor, that clearly needs new items in his stock

All of this has dwindled my hope for music boxes to a very low place. I might buy a single one for some of my homes for the atmosphere, IF the pricing ends up to be somewhat reasonable, otherwise these are items I can perfectly live without, now that I have discovered all of the above caveats.
These music boxes are a tiny little neat new feature, nothing more than that.
