HDR broke on xbox since wolfhunter? EDIT: Patch coming early october

It’s sad that they made this mess based on few people complaining sore eyes because.....FRIGGING GAME HAD COLOURS!Yet they managed to brake it for majority who were enjoying....wait......wait.......COLOURS!Damn,I need black and white tv,so much more beautiful screen to watch UHD movies.Who needs colours in this black and white world,or is it grey

This is just so unbelieveable, the incompetence is unreal.
This is game breaking! And it shoule be embaraasing enough to want to fix it asap.

There is nothing to monitor or look into just revert the change and maybe consider to look at a damn hdr tv after making a change for it?

But you know,those who complained about too colourfull world would have to spend 5sec everytime they switch between tv HDR on and game HDR off,it is wayyyy too much asked.Got impression it was acceptable choice for those who hated over saturation but lazy will always be lazy.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can we have an update? I tried logging in last night to play. I tried but could not. I just quickly refilled my guild sell slots and got the hell out. It is so UGLY! Come on guys. Fix it. You know what my plan is. I am giving it a few more days. And I am not playing until it is fixed. I am about to buy Destiny Forsaken. And once I do, I will get hooked and ESO will be a memory. Does ZOS really want to lose their HDR/4K base? I know once I start another game, the previous game I was playing becomes unused and dusty. You guys need to think about the players you are about to lose. I will not/have not play/ed until fixed. And I will cancel my ESO + very soon if not fixed.

You have a window here. At the very least you could provide your customers and update. Even if it is just we are working on it.

I'd suggest to everyone to switch HDR off for the time being and play with standard colour until its fixed. Its not ideal I know, but it looks better than with it on at the moment

Since this is a long weekend, I don't think we will hear anything until Tuesday. So no fix until at least Wednesday since Tuesday is when they come back to work. That is if it's just a switch to turn HDR on that is.

Seems to be still broken. Any update on the situation would be nice as it has been almost a week since they announced that they are looking into this.

But I am not surprised as the latest patchnotes topic is still Wolfunter so seems like they are not that quick to fix stuff..

Just wanted to chime in I was having the same issues on PS4. Logged in after new patch and everything was a weird sepia or noir shade. I had to mess with a lot of tv settings and in game settings to get the game looking at a playable level, but it is certainly not as gorgeous as it was pre-patch. Hope they find a fix soon!

Logged in for the first time in 3 days to pay my guild dues, game still looks like a baked turd. Decided to break into my backlog; So it's back to Far Cry 5 until this is fixed.

There is nothing to fix. By that it was done on purpose. They turned of HDR. So working as intended. By no way am I saying this was the correct decision but people are keep still saying it needs to be fixed. That is the wrong words to use.

It's please turn HDR back on.

When I got my 4k TV, I originally bought one with HDR, but found too many things looked... oversaturated - so I returned it and opted to go for a standard, non-HDR 4k TV. I guess I dodged a bullet here - for now.

Game still looks beautiful for me - but yeah, hope they patch this so others can enjoy.

Sounds like you hadn't run through colour calibration on it?

No. If u dont understand the issue u can just stop posting and go away.

Gina has said they intended to tweak the hdr and it had some unintended consequenses. So no, it was not intentional for the game to get *** up.

I submitted a ticket for tech support thinking it was a bug or corrupted files/settings on day one of Wolfhunter and never heard back from ZoS. I thought HDR had been disabled altogether and wondered why in the fudge Bethesda needed yet another Bethesda Brown™ palette game.

I see a common sentiment among these threads and posts: ESO was gorgeous and colorful before, even if the colors were a bit oversaturated, AND a number of people did what I did: bought an Xbox One X (or PS4 Pro) and even a 4k, HDR TV expressly for ESO's outstanding enhanced presentation.

The issue is not just that the game is no longer colorful. The new settings have damaged color accuracy (especially with red), and for me and those I game with at least, hindered our ability to recognize and interpret visual cues in the game.

Resource nodes (which are red at CP 160+, and affected by the lack of color accuracy) and the highlighting granted by the crafting skill lines are MUCH less visible, for example.

To put it differently, the HDR changes have introduced mechanical flaws to the game.

That being said, there are some small changes for the better. Purple text no longer glows so brightly against the black background that it creates a blur effect. Nights and shadows are no longer blue. The detail on 2d icons (ability bar and inventory items) is much clearer, and even some textures are sharper. But, that also means it's more apparent where textures have been poorly upconverted to 4k or whatever resolution standard has been set--there are now even more low quality textures mixed in with high quality textures.

Many items made of wood looks like it comes from assets from a late-gen Xbox classic or early-gen Xbox 360 title in comparison to the other textures, for example. One of my friends was less generous, comparing the landscape to an N64 title.

TL;DR best-case scenario may not be reverting back to previous settings but finding a middle ground that preserves the beautiful colors so many of us identify as a central part of the ESO experience along with the increased visual fidelity afforded by the new settings OR giving end-users configuration settings in the UI to decide on the implementation best for them.

I hope we hear something soon!

Yea once you calibrate you're TV it will look amazing.
