Not sure if I agree with your proposed change - but I do agree with the premise of your argument. There needs to be an easier way for people to use heavy attacks with an Ice Staff without being forced into tanking. As someone who often plays as a tank myself - the heavy attack taunt from the Ice Staff isn't very efficient anyway. It's slow, cumbersome and frankly annoying to use.

FIRST! YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE ICE STAFF TO TAUNT ALL OF THE TIME. Hopefully the caps helped.

Use the skill inner rage as your primary and if you need to regen resources - Well, look at that! Not only are you regenerating your resources but you're also refreshing your taunt! How cool is that?!

How can the concept of the undaunted ability be lost on nearly everyone in this game? It's instant cast and allows your allies to synergize. Use it. Love it.

I'm not sure why you are posting something in BOLD that had nothing to do with my comment.

I never said you have to use Ice Staff to taunt all the time. I said the heavy attack taunt from ice Staff is slow and annoying to use. I"m well ware of the undaunted ability Inner Rage. I have it leveled up and use it on occasion.

Please read my comments more carefully before responding to them.

Every heavy attack is slow. There are other options but at some point everyone has to heavy attack. Don't try to fix something that doesn't need to be fixed.

You are defeating your own argument.

You suggest that at some point everyone has to heavy attack - and I am going to assume that everyone includes people who are not tanks.

So how does it make any sense to attach a taunt to a heavy attack? Maybe there are people out there who want to use an Ice Staff and not tank.

Then they can? Here's what you do. Ready? Like- for real this time. Are you ready?

Don't spend a skill point in the Tri-Focus passive that only provides the ice staff the benefit of heavy attacks taunting the enemy. Why would you NEED to put a skill point in that passive if you didn't want the taunt effect?

The problem with that solution is....ready? LIke - for real this time. Are you ready? Because I want you to pay close attention here: (since you are trying so hard to be condescending I figured I'd repay the favor some). The Tri Focus Passive also gives damage bonuses to Flame and Shock staves. So there are other obvious reasons (I even put in bold for you) players may want to pick up that passive that don't include adding a taunt to their Frost Staff heavy attacks. I would imagine very few players on this game only ever use one type of staff (I know I certainly don't).

I want to be good at basketball, football, video games, soccer and I also want to be a race car driver. Can I do all of those at the same time? Nope. You might want it all but you can't always have it all. That's a life lesson for you today, Jeremy.

Except this is a video game and not real life.

And no one here is asking to let them play soccer and also be a race car driver. That would be an unreasonable request of the ESO game developers. It is however reasonable for players to ask for improvements to the game design that allow them to pick up an important passive like Tri Focus without being forced to taunt with their heavy attacks while using an Ice Staff

That is the purpose of video game forums - to discuss ways to make the game better. So that's your lesson for today, Valkyn. ^^

As I stated in my original comment: I'm not sure if I agree with the OP's method of change - but what he or she is asking for here is entirely reasonable.

    I say don't touch it.

You have a skewed look on what a forum is for. It's to discuss with each other. ZOS obviously doesn't put much weight into forum complaints.

Or at least make the taunt a morph of one of the destro skills you would have to put a Skill point in to unlock

Agree 100%. Ice staff taunt for those not Tanking is just dumb. Sometimes though it is funny to see a DPS run from a Boss. LOL.
