Or at least make the taunt a morph of one of the destro skills no one uses like force shock or destructive touch.
Why did the Dunmer cross the road?
Apparently to get stuck in an eternal load screen!

Fine. Add a new skill or a morph with a taunt.

This. Mostly because Zos chose to retrofit the ice staff for magicka tanking.

It’s no longer a dps weapon but a poor tanking weapon. Yes I have staves for my tank. Only to back bar for a ranged interupt and no points into the passives.

I would rather get faster ice staff heavy attacks. Nothing too crazy, but noticeable enough to make it more fun to taunt with it.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Fine. Add a new skill or a morph with a taunt.

Ice staff tanking isn't perfect, and this might be a solution to it.

Personally, I'd like to see an entirely new staff line. We could potentially have, for example, alteration staves, illusion staves, mysticism staves, etc. A new staff line would open up the opportunity to return ice staves to being a damage-dealing tool and instead put magicka tanking in one of the new skill lines.

Thanks, done. I can't believe i didn't notice notice the taunt was tied to this passive. Still kinda sucks to lose a passive that rocks for flame/shock though. Would be nice to see the taunt moved to a skill and a root or just dmg shield placed on the frost passive

This so much, make it faster but nerf it a bit. Now you have an taunt tool for multiple enemies, Staff HA is to slow.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Zos chose to retrofit one aspect of a dps weapon into a tanking weapon. There is not was any reason to think it was an ideal solution but it is the solution we have.

Until and unless Zos does the proper thing and design a new magicka tanking weapon (or eliminate magicka tanking) there is no ideal solution.

This has to be a joke right?...
Like, an early April fools joke perhaps?....
There's no way that you "actually" think that no one uses force shock or destructive touch, right?....
Since, those are the two skills MOST destro staff users use...

I actually like using an ice staff on my back bar. I usually keep Inner Beast on that bar which, along with snb up front, gives me a taunt for just about any occasion.

It works out well for a multipurpose character. I swap the ice staff for fire or lightning, swap Inner Beast for Jesus beam and my monster set for something more offensive and I'm ready to PVP.
