I wonder if Zenimax knows HOW bad this is? It happens almost every week. This can't be good to their bottom line.

People who bought it on steam long enough ago were given that capability so why was it taken away, and why not offer that as a solution to those of us who are having this issue?
It's the similar eason why they can't just migrate am account to or from consoles, the specific account was created using a 3rd party that is tied to the account. In this case, allegedly getting a new PC key will work to transfer from the 3rd party.
Would they have the capability of switching keys for steam users? I could see how issuing keys might be an issue since some might give or sell those keys to others but it seems like the most straightforward fix for this problem, unless they just want us to get frustrated enough to pay them for their problems by buying a second key (which is a bit tin foil hatty and I’m not willing to believe it was orchestrated like that).

What about all the stuff that people have on their first account? Will that stuff transfer over, or will they have to start from scratch? I sure as hell have no intention of doing the latter.

Seems like it has everything to do with Steam since people with steam linked accounts cant log in.

Bethesda outsourced their online game to ZOS that why Bethesda only shows as the publisher.
Have anyone heard of ZOS before? They are doing an awesome job at handling a massive amount of users.

I have had Steam for 11 years. I have 67 games on steam including six other MMOS. I have NEVER had a problem with any steam games but this one. So the problem is NOT steam, it is ESO. Are they bad at coding? Are non steam user given priority? Do they just not want to spend the money to replace/ upgrade an outdated login server? Who knows. All i know is the problem is DEFINITIVELY not with steam.

So all of these people that can't login to the PC NA server using Steam aren't having a problem with their Steam connected accounts?
darth_capo wrote: »I've owned the game for 3 week and this has happened twice. I just subscribed to ESO+ last night and now cannot connect.
Since its happening to only Steam users, is it possible to opt into a new key? I would be happy to switch if it would limit the downtime I experience. I'm just afraid to invest anymore (Summerset) while being linked to a biweekly issue on Steam.

I've been part of the system since closed beta. I have linked my bethesda/eso account to steam, and have been affected by this issue. Off and on, I am unable to use the steam launcher, and while using the EXE directly seems to work most of the time, it doesn't work ALL of the time. So it is NOT just Steam as it DOES affect users who are NOT using the Steam launcher. It's just those that are able to not use the steam launcher (those that purchased before One Tamriel) seem to have a better chance to log in.

So what you're saying is, people that bought the game through Steam are having problems and people that linked their accounts with Steam are having issues, yeah sounds like an issue with Steam.

I almost reinstalled Rift. But then I came to my senses and just shut off the computer.
