My pet choices is often linked to the theme of the character.

    Glorious pet for glorious look.

I often swap between this little senche pup and the ice wolf pup.

May not be hard to guess what is the theme idea behind this ^^

I'm all over the map. I'm a pet and mount addict so it depends on the char, theme, the geography, and my mood at the time. I like to try and give all my pets some face time.

My toons have pets based on their theme/story I use them in.

My Main used the Bantam Guar forever due to being the cutest thing in the franchise. For a brief while I've used the standard Nixad, but until they release a standard Chicken pet, I'll probably switch to the Raz-Kitten for my main when it's released.

I fell in love with the dusky fennex fox so even though it doesn't really fit my Stamsorc brute of an Orc I can't resist using it. It's just so adorable.

If a pet does not serve a purpose then it does not get used. Non-combat pets are useless to me.

Only two of my toons use non-combat pets.

My sorc healer khajiit walks with her "sister" - moonlight senche.
And my NB healer - dunmer ashlander witch, worshiper of Mephala, is happy with her brand new skein spider friend.

There are a lot of pets I'd like to use, but many of them make annoying sounds that drives me batty. Then there's the Skein Scorpion, whose sound makes me jump every time it stabs with its tail, so had to remove it. Right now my Nightblade is running the Skein Spider... my character has a red/black color palette to match my Shadow-Rider Senche... my Templar uses the Skein Wasp; most other characters use the red Sep Adder.

I wish they would add small Atronach pets... flame, shock and frost.

My warden has the baby netch and my NB has the baby griffon at the moment.

I think my Templar has the bear cub. I'll probably give my stam warden the bear cub as well. I have to disable pets for dungeons and trials, so I sometimes forget to put them back on.

My Breton main uses Snorri the goat, because he is the best. For a short while she had the Dwemer spider because I was excited to get it, but I missed Snorri and his inappropriate burping so I switched back and will never ever leave him again.

My Nord has Scruffy the wolfhound, who is scruffy and down-to-earth kind of like she is. I figure he just started hanging around her and she eventually came to appreciate his companionship even though she told him she wasn't going to coddle him (kind of like Meeko in Skyrim). It has recently occurred to me that he looks an awful lot like Barbas, though, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Probably not badly enough to swap him out, but I've got my eye on him.

My fat Orc has Pork Bowl the domino pig. They just seemed well-suited to each other, both being fat and all. If chub loons ever come back for gems, though, I'll probably use that for her. And now that I think about it, it's a shame that I'm not using the pocket mammoth, so maybe that would be a good fit for her too.

My Redguard has Buster the Dwarven war dog, who seemed like a good match for a warrior who likes to wear gold-tinted heavy armor.

My Argonian has Babbyganetch the baby netch. Was a good cultural match and she finds its farty noises amusing. She's probably also the type who would give it a dumb pun name based on food.

The Khajiit has Spike the sep adder, since she's a stabby stabby assassin type and sep adders have that edgy spiky sneak-up-on-you-and-shank-you vibe going on.

My Altmer sorcerer has Chauncey the scamp, who is the laziest sorc pet ever. (Her backstory involves a catastrophic summoning experience, although I ended up not making her an actual pet sorc, so she just has him wandering around with her being unhelpful.)

The Bosmer has Sprocket the Dwemer spider, since it's cool and I wanted to use it, and I figure it's something she's come across during one of her ruins-raiding expeditions.

The Dunmer has a clockwork skeevaton named Glitch, mostly because I thought it was a cool pet and she was the only one who didn't have something better-suited. Only downside is that it's pretty small and hard to see while she's out and about. So I might have to think about that one.

Most of my characters have no pets as I find the idea of them all having some random animal following them around just because a little unrealistic, but a few characters found a pet which just fits so well.

My werewolf warden has a wolf, of course:

OMG, where did you get an adult gray wolf pet? I've been wanting one literally for 4 years and never saw one released. My Redguard Templar has a red wolf cub, but I'd love to have an adult gray wolf.

It makes a high pitch whine that kills me. You’re lucky you don’t notice it. I was so excited to get it until I heard it.
