Jewelry Crafting Daily Writs Grant Wrong/No Inspiration

I have completed the Daily Jewelry Crafting Writ each day since Summerset released. For the last week each Writ has granted no Inspiration in Jewelry Crafting. I started tracking Inspiration values once I noticed this.

I am 50 in all crafting skills except Enchanting. Oddly enough completing a JC Daily Writ was leveling Enchanting, not Jewelry Crafting.

Here are some completion examples:
Jewelry Crafting Level 22:: 4866 -> 4866 (0 Gain)
Enchanting Level 39: 82,343 -> 90,143 (7800 Gain)

Jewelry Crafting Level 29: 30,155 -> 30,155 (0 Gain)
Enchanting Level 40: 70,387 -> 83,387 (13,000 Gain)

Jewelry Crafting Level 33: 64,934 -> 64,934 (0 Gain)
Enchanting Level 40: 109,921 -> 122,921 (13,000 Gain)

And just this morning...
Jewelry Crafting Level 48: 31,845 -> 31,845 (0 Gain)
Enchanting Level 43: 155,473 -> Level 44 19,513 (20,800 Gain)

Inspiration may or may not go to Enchanting exclusively. It may go to any skill that isn't 50. Finding out what happens with other players may help see the entire problem.

I am "fairly" certain the Pewter level of Daily Write gave me inspiration... I have one note of gaining 2600 at JC 4. Unfortunately I wasn't keeping detailed records initially. This bug may kick in after putting a Skill Point in Engraver, which starts Copper-based Writs.

Confirmed with one other friend he's getting no Inspiration from completing the Daily Writ. Decided to post here in case others are seeing this. If you can confirm this behavior please post a /bug report in game. Hopefully this issue will gain some traction. After three patches since Summerset's release this seems like something that should be fixed.

i am not getting it, either. will now hold off until this is fixed. no sense wasting mats for nothing. also putting in a bug report, etc.

i am not sure the intricate jewelry pcs give the intricate inspiration, either.

Will this be fixed soon? Is it a "known issue" being worked on?

No inspiration for daily writs here either. It shows the blue token, but don’t get any.

After being advised by a friend yesterday, I tested this today as well, and confirmed the problem with my main who is at L38 of jewelry crafting skill (PC/NA). Submitted /bug 180602-003269.

Great, I've been doing daily writs since release and never noticed it. Love that they knew about it since before release and just decided to launch without fixing it anyway. Great *** job, boys

This is why I stick at tier 1 pewter. At least inspiration for writs work there. Silly this has not been fixed yet, as it's been known for a while.

Yep, stay at level 1 until you have it all maxed out, then upgrade the crafting level to 50

They don't care. They got our money for Summerset, they could care less that it works correctly or that people actually like the JC system. They are already on to the next money grab....

The max tier writs are in no way rewarding whatsoever as well only 2/10 lesser tempers out of nearly 250 max tier JC writs so far

no. i am maxed everywhere except in jc. no inspiration once i spent for copper.

Not quite. What's happening is that JC writs work properly if the writ is for level 1 mats (pewter). If you have put at least one skill point into the jewelry materials passive, so that the writ is for crafting Copper, Silver, Electrum, (or platinum, not that it matters), then the inspiration from your jewelry crafting writ is applied to your Enchanting skill line - even if your Enchanting is already maxed.

@ZOS_GinaBruno has confirmed that this is definitely a bug, and should be fixed in "the next incremental patch", i.e. "Soon" (tm) - refer to https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/416590/jewelry-crafting-writs-doesnt-give-inspiration-bug-or-intended. I was sad that there was nothing in today's patch (4.0.8).

since it has been known since the pts, there really isnt any excuse for it having been released buggy.

Glad I saw this, as I had no idea. Will stay at Tier 1 until they fix this.

On the one hand, I just can't believe that they'd let one of their selling points for SS go out with such a flagrant bug. On the other hand, I can, as they've done this so many times before. Sometimes, I get angry and sometimes I just laugh at the absurdity.

They are quick to fix any bug that provides an advantage to players, but any bug that hinders progress or doesn't provide the benefit it should? Eh...they'll get around to it whenever.

Confirmed fixed (tested ok) in incremental patch 4.0.9 on June 11 (PC/NA). The patch for consoles may be another week or two.
