Full screen advertising is not appreciated

No really, I hope this isn´t true. It´s true for some people, but I´d like to think they actually wanted to make a good game as well.

And yeah, someone at ZoS needs to google "reactance psychology".

Of course it's true...we live in a capitalistic society (well unless you're Venezuela) and "reactance psychology" (which I guess is the new outrage buzz word used on campus among the so called Enlightened) doesn't even enter the picture...no one is taking anything from you, they are adding a new form of advertising in a attempt to increase their sales....just like every other business that wishes for their company to be profitable, and here is the real shocker there are many of us who believe they have made a good game and there isn't anything wrong with them wanting it to be profitable.

If the ads offend you press the alt key and move on with your life, honestly how hard is that?.... and if one millisecond motion is too traumatic you have bigger issues.

I get it, it’s annoying that it constantly appears. Just report it as a bug, that’s all you can do.
Part of me wants to say that this was not ZOS’ intention to have these ads constantly bombarding players, it’s frustrating at best and if anything; makes me not want to buy anything from the crown store (especially when the ad is telling me about stuff that I’ve already purchased, acting as though I haven’t)

I'll just add to what others have said.

An extremely intrusive ad every time I log in, advertising the chapter I'm currently playing does nothing but annoy me.

I'm already playing it, maybe make the ad move along. Also, I don't want to see if 50 times a day when I'm swapping toons.

If they limited to a one time pop up every 24 hours, I would be fine with it. I dont need it on every F'ing Character, every damn time i log on.

I don't even have a problem with that. I do dislike it showing up with every login. I swap characters often and even with the banging on the ALT key it's still too much. Back it up to how it used to be, please.

Agreed. Please ZOS, reduce the adverts for the crown store to their previous size and make them pop up just once a day per account. We know our way to the forums if we want more information. This is just aggravating your customers. But I am starting to think that is exactly what you are trying to do with the latest trends in the crown store.

Its like these companies have to learn this the hard way themselves time and again. They cant look at other companies in similar situations and learn from their faults. They have to experience it for themselves to find out they arent the exception.

Instead of making me want to spend money in the store this intrusive advert has the absolute opposite effect, in fact between this and gambling crates It’s pretty clear the direction this game is going.

I had a full-screen ad a few hours ago asking me to preorder Summerset. At the time, I was logging into a character located in Alinor.

Three things that bother me about that screen:

- Its new size. Half the space isn't even used by the ad, it's just empty. What?
- That it pops up at every re-log and character switch. That's plainly unnecessary and takes the ad into the annoyance territory. Seriously annoying when you switch often.
- That it's showing me content I already have, prominently. I'm not against crown store ads, I even have ESO+ crowns to spend. But when the screen starts with a Preorder Summerset ad, that's a surefire way to get me trying a new record at pressing Alt. In general, I'm all for non-personalised ads if that means it's not profiling me. But this is an MMO account. They monitor everything all the time. I mean, even I can write IF summerset=0 THEN PRINT "Buy Summerset!" ELSE RETURN. Sure, if people bought nearly everything that's on offer, the ad may be short or empty, but then, that's people that bought everything, they're fine. Maybe cycle through the rest of the store for them, and in the end, display a message "Congratulations! You've beaten the Crown Store!"

Yes, ZOS is in the business of making money. Creating an annoyance and trying to sell me stuff I already have isn't exactly helpful with that.

Its empty now but that's where the daily log-in rewards calendar will be starting next month. If you want free stuff you click the day and get whats offerd. Look up TERA online and that's pretty much what it will be.

I'm not a big fan of targetted advertising where you're wondering just how much they are tracking everything we do online. But this is in-company information, I pre-ordered they day I could so why did I get an email about it yesterday? Just tag my account.

ZoS is letting marketing be involved in game design decisions way too much and, in the long run, it is going to hurt the game rather than help it.

Yeah, whale though I am, this is getting entirely too intrusive. Also, being as stubborn as I am, it's having the opposite effect on me.
