Full screen advertising is not appreciated

I just submitted a Steam refund for this expansion. Like its bad enough paying $30 for a new zone, an opening quest line that is uninteresting and boring, and now getting fullscreen advertising every time I login? It saddens me, but I think my time with this game is starting to end. There are too many things that *** me off.

Send a bug report every single time it happens. ZOS will be getting a minimum of 45 bug reports about it from me every single day until they fix it so that it doesn't show up on every single relog.
This only will lead you from being blacklisted from their bug report.

Then they're going to miss the normal bugs I report. Their loss.

It's not big enough actually...I think they should have short ESO related commercials for the non Plus players.

They are a business you know. And like any business they only exist to make money. Thats why this game exists. Do you get mad every time you see a commercial on TV. Fact is if they don't make money then you will have no more game to play.

Do you guys remember the Star Trek TNG Episode "The Game?" This sort of thing reminds me of the bit near the end where they're forcing Wesley to use the game thing, and the cone just keeps getting bigger and bigger until it completely fills his field of view.

I'm also reminded of a scene from "Patton," when General Patton first arrives in Kasserine. There's a woman trying to sell him two chickens, and she runs right up constantly shouting at him, holding the chickens right in his face the whole time he's there, right up til he enters the HQ.

They don't seem to understand what I've been saying for some time now in various threads. You don't make money by alienating your customers. Idiotic prices and hard sell advertising only pisses people off, and actually DISCOURAGES them making any purchases. They're damaging their business AGAIN.

I swear, I really want the game to do well, but I'm getting more and more disillusioned with Elder Crown Store Online.

Lol there is a reason I don’t watch TV and use adblocks and ad free streaming services. I value my time and not having garbage forced into my face. I’m certain ZoS is fine for money, this seems to be a poorly implemented feature to steer new players towards the Crown Store. It’s not on, have it so it opens once per day when you open the Crown Store itself.

Who watches commercials???? I haven't seen a commercial since 2000. Live TV is a joke. Record anything you wanna watch or d/l it through the multiple streaming services you have at your disposal.

    A cheap and nasty tactic.

I would have thought after some of the responses to similar tactics we would have seen the last of rubbish like this given that those previous discussions spawned comments from ZOS such as this:
Just to confirm on this end, we indeed do not plan to continue with in-game messaging for items such as this (though we will still message if the server is going down, for example). We understand this was not appreciated or desired, and will find better ways to message limited Crown Store items that do not interfere with your gameplay experience.

    Emphasis mine.

So exactly how, Gina, is this not interefering with our gameplay experience? We are confronted with it every time we log in on any character.

We gave feedback it was too much during PTS but it was ignored.

The old window was fine, the new one would be fine if it was once a day and not every character swap.

This is a bad move from the company. They teach players to automatically press ALT to get rid of the überintrusive ad and the end result will be less, not more, ads read.

Particularly as the ad appears for every char every time. We get plenty of practise in pressing ALT to play. In a couple of days it's an instinct we don't even think about.

bigger is not always better. To in my face advertising makes me less likely to get interested/buy. I get desensitized fast, it becomes just an annoying thing to click away. So I will start clicking it away without even registering what was on it. the more it gets forced upon me the less willing I am to even look at it.
Agree, now if they had displayed all offers on one page I could understand the large size.
Now it looks like even more spam than before, I'm in summerset, I don't need adds to buy it for one, nor to tab by it to get to news.

And, as a business they should probably know when they are accomplishing the exact opposite of what they want with their “in your face” style of advertising. ESO is not a F2P game. It is B2P. We spent money from the start. We don’t need to constantly be reminded that there is a cash shop in the game. It’s there. We know.

This kind of aggressive advertising is the reason people don’t like mobile F2P games as much as paid pc and console games. There’s also a reason why people opt for Netflix and Amazon over cable tv. No advertising.

Their advertising worked fine when it was limited to the launcher. Having an icon for the crown store on the character menu is enough. If people are interested in spending money, they’ll go in there and look.

The next step will be to have that thing pop up every time we zone into a new area or instance.
