Any intention of addressing magsorc ganking?

Honestly the overload -> Crystal blast -> overload combo really makes me miss getting Incap'd from stealth. At least with incap I could quickly CC break and kill the ganker. These ganking sorcs are tank killers, and there's no counterplay. It's not fun.

Paging @Waffennacht: Did you do this?

@Daus This entire combo is countered by Absorb Magic, Shimmering Shield, or Reflecting Scale. Just always keep those up (esp. Absorb Magic with 30s duration) when you're liable to get ganked on your tank, and you'll always profit from that combo.

I've never been successfully ganked by a single Nightblade before honestly. So ironically these magSorcs are the best gankers yet.

If you want to gank just make a dedicated Snipe build. You’ll be able to kill anyone because apparently Snipe being buggy asf is not enough of an issue for them to fix

I see it becoming more of an issue next patch. Luckily there are very few players who make true, dedicated Snipe builds. The snipers you’re used to are just random bad players that run weak builds and basically serve as free AP. If properly built it hits way harder than overloads.

Most importantly Snipe builds get buffed next patch because:
    - Infused Jewelry
    - 2x free set bonuses
    - Meditation to regen resources easy

Combine that with the bugs Snipe has and gg to all builds that aren’t tanks.

It makes no sense why they allow Overload to be buffed by Empower tbh. Also it probably stacks with Elemental Weapon.

    @Daus

    No problem.

    1. Consider back-bar sword-and-board on non-tanks rather than using a bow or dual-wield. You see a lot of duelists do this for good reason, and you can still do excellent damage in Cyrodiil with the sword and shield skill line. Doing so would also grant you access to absorb magic.
    2. As mag, always keep shields up, and as stam, always keep shuffle active. All of those abilities will give you magicka back from Absorb magic, and they are single target, so you will have dodge chance against them.
    3. Whenever you're just standing still and a prime gank target, crouch and stealth up. It's good practice and they can't gank you if they can't see you.

I would look at this as how to counter attacks from stealth generally rather that focus specifically on magsorcs.

I believe ZOS should create 2 lists for each skill, one for PVE and another for PVP. This way, they can make the changes to skills for PVP without affecting PVE like they usually do. Please @ZOS_GinaBruno could you relay the message to the devs, please?

    Shimmering Shield doesn’t cancel projectiles.

Projectiles like Overload can put out such high damage that it cuts through into our health.

He said he was frustrated with how he dies on his tank to that.

My tank doesn't die to that. His shimmering shield absorbs 75k damage. It scales with health.

For lower health builds, shimmering absolutely is a counter. Within its damage threshold, it does "cancel" projectiles: no health loss and no cc, and more importantly it grants you the split second you need to roll-dodge and react to the gank.

To be honest, if you're worried about being ganked, as the OP was, it's incumbent upon you--and this hypothetical warden--to always stay fully buffed as you described. Keeping your buffs up when you're vulnerable to ganks is not an unreasonable expectation.

You don't have to in order to counter this though.

If it really is a big problem, use Absorb Magic and stay crouched unless you absolutely cannot.

Also, Radiant Magelight will prevent the stun from stealth, allowing you to shield, roll, heal, cloak, whatever your class has to counter ganks. Magsorc ganking is not an issue and is easily countered.

I've honestly never had a huge issue with Magsorcs and I run a StamSorc for PvP. They're very predictable with their combos, yes it hits hard but if you know what to expect then it isn't that bad and you know when/what to try and dodge. Same goes for Stamdens, by now we all know what their combos look like, making them predictable. Although I will say if you let your guard down at all or don't keep an eye out for a Stamden then can and will KO you.
