Problem with subscription/payment processing?

I have just tried to renew my subscription.

I have tried 3 different Visa's (from 2 different banks), and I am getting this "The transaction was not authorized. Please contact your payment provider for additional assistance."

I have never had this issue before and have used these cards on this account in the past. My only conclusion is that perhaps ESO payment processing is down?
Sincerely,

It could also be that your bank is rejecting it. Try contacting them.

Weird, I never could succesfully buy subscription from ESO site when using card option. First try was very long time ago - same error, and I gave up. Then Steam finally introduced the way to subscribe from there - never any error there, using same and few other cards.

But when Steam had temporarily troubles with subscription, at the same time I needed to subscribe for something, so I was forced to try to buy subscription from ESO store... It was nightmare :| Same error, no matter what I did. "The transaction was not authorized. Please contact your payment provider for additional assistance." I contacted my bank few times, they told everything should be fine. Few hours of tries wasted, being banned for too much tries and waiting some time to try again...
Desperate, I tried last option - to create Paypal account just so I could buy 1 month of sub... Entered exactly same card info at Paypal I tried before at ESO site - and just after a second the payment was successful. After that horrible experience I know ESO site is full of bugs and if it wasn't for Paypal option, I wouldn't be able to buy subscription there. Funny, how Steam and Paypal do not have any problems with my cards and bank, while ESO site has all the problems :) Only thanks to those 2 services I can waste spend my money on the game :D

I you have paysafecard option from your country, try that - I am using that without any problems.

My actual credit card doesn’t allow transactions on their site either for ESO Plus but it will work to buy chapters....so as another suggested, PayPal on the PC site was what I had to use years back. Make sure you notice the alert at the top of this page tho.....maintenance is supposed to occur a little later today

I haven’t subbed on PC in two years so no idea what’s what now. On Xbox I also use PayPal but both my CC and PayPal work there.

If two browsers give the same result maybe call your bank and ask. Maybe it’s a sign

Another thing I could think of is - if the name given in the account settings and that of the creditcard owner is not the same.

This is a long-standing issue for me. For the first two years of my sub.... no problem. After that? Rejected by the bank, no matter which card (or which bank) I used.

PayPal ended up being my only option.

Conversations with my bank led to being told that charges from ZOS may always be rejected. The question then arises: What did ZOS do to get into the naughty book?

Often this happens when there are too many chargeback requests. Bank gets tired of it and "black lists" the merchant.

I don't know what time zone you're in, but read the announcement at the top of the forum.
