I am always amazed that the most immature things are excused by "mature" language or "mature" settings... How oxymoronic...

It's sexual harassment and people got banned for it.

Even so many people do it in PVP it doesnt mean that its not bannable.

Such a stupid, stupid thing to get upset about. What really happened is someone lost and got upset, then they were teabagged and got even more upset. If you have a normal IQ level, this would not be thought of as sexual harrassment, because there is no actual contact between humans, there is nothing said, there is nothing seen. It's a disrespectful (and funny, even when I get it) act that doesn't involve sex of any kind. People that get up in arms about this will literally find problems anywhere.

You've displayed the complete opposite in this thread so far.

Have I? How so? I'm debating an issue, expressing my opinion. At the end of the day there will always be those who enjoy others' misery and those who don't enjoy being on the receiving end of it. Human nature. What I would like to see is some consideration but I fully appreciate that this is a gaming community PLUS a competitive area within that community and the niceties are not likely to be observed. I don't like mean. :)

I still think a /bow or /salute vastly preferable to bagging or going the humourous route with /sweep, /shovel.

When did online games become such a huge refuge for degenerates that get offended by literally everything.

When did it become Normal to behave inappropriately when online?

    I don’t understand anymore

that's not the point, when did it become normal to be overly sensitive to everything. Like I understand that tbagging is annoying and I get annoyed when a zerg does it to you, but as the way op phrased it it feels a bit too far.

Since dial-up was a thing. My first few interactions online were with someone acting (maybe) like a Russian that hates Americans. The next was with someone I could only guess was 9 or 10 just spouting off all the bad words he could think of. The day computers started becoming a normal thing in houses was when everything turned.

Seriously though, there is no need to get upset about something so small and childish. Just walk away knowing you're better than them.

Oh and also, let me remind you this game is Mature 17+ so you should expect this type of things.
If you didnt get offended by some quests, stop complaning abauth this then.

    BOOM!

Another assumption rendered not-quite-true. We elders, some of us anyway, were raised to be kind, polite and considerate. At 65, I've seen a bit of life, oh yes. I've also worked in CS/TS so my wrinkly old skin is pretty damn thick. My deal is, I don't see any point in being mean-spirited. So, you clobbered someone and they fell over. Hey! You won! Good on ya, so why the need to rub it in?

That is just it thought, 9 times out of 10 the recipient is placing WAY more stock into the action than the person doing it. Its dumb, its daft, its even petty sure, but its not personal. People say things such as what you were replying to from that individual because generally, the older one gets, the less give a *** they usually have.

Well, yeah, the one being made fun of usually finds that more objectionable than the one making fun.

Ahhh and I disagree that it's not personal. Have you not seen the /zone pissing contests? I mean talk about angst when someone gets ganked or bagged etc. Absolutely some folk take it personally.

There are some things that I no longer care about but I will always want to be considerate and polite. That is part of who I am and until I go totally doo-lally (and who knows what I'll be like then, hah!) my mind won't be changed that it's never a bad thing to be courteous. Or if I can't manage that (happens sometimes) I just keep my damn mouth shut. :)

If someone takes getting tea bagged in an online game personal than the problem lies with that person.

That's one way to look at it, yes. Another way is that if it weren't meant to have an impact, why do it? The intent is, fairly obviously to, at a minimum, tease right on out to taunting.

Was just thinking about how different dueling is vs PvP. I've watched a lot of duels (talented people and I've learned a lot by simply watching) and I have NEVER seen any bagging going on after a duel. In fact, I usually see "gf" or "gg". Interesting the differences there.

I'm genuinely curious. Like honestly I know it's petty AF and personally I don't really care but I know some people do care and to some people (sexual assault victims) it can be a bit of a PTSD trigger.

As a victim of sexual assault, "tea bagging" does not trigger me
am also fairly well balanced when people make jokes about sexual assault

have been in a PvP guild where individuals spoke out against commentary like "we *** them" in asserting victory
appreciated the level of social respect encouraged in the guild; but since such commentary was in voice comms on discord
ZOS would not be able to do much even if it had caused issues for me

If you or someone you know intends to report individuals for tea bagging
be prepared to end up repeatedly providing explanation of 'why' it is an issue in each report
and expect multiple reports to have to build up against an individual before action is taken

it would prolly be feasible to build up the values of the ESO playerbase to the point that such actions are socially scorned in a manner similar to racist comments
on the whole, the ESO community seems to be rather supportive, understanding, and capable of reflection and growth
but expect people crying the whole way that their fun is being spoiled

I really can’t believe this thread. Is teabagging annoying? Yeah. But is it a horrific behavior that should get someone banned? Holy crap, NO. So killing other players is okay, but if one of them crouches over your body as a pun, the world is ending.

    I've got a great idea!

ZOS should set up a "safe space" bubble at the entrance of Cyrodiil...

Make it like Negate (Absorption Field) where it will sooth your booboos. And inside of the bubble Maiq the Liar will offer hugs and tell you that everything's going to be okay.

Also, I think we have a "tea time" emote. Too bad we can't use it in Cyrodiil.
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

By entering Cyrodiil, you are signing a contract that says, “If I come across an enemy character, they can and probably will kill me.”

Speaking for myself, I often don’t even pay attention to what level someone is in pvp. If I see an enemy, then my reflexes kick in and one of us is about to die.

The point is that comparing real life sexual assault to squatting over an enemy’s body in a virtual game (which could have one of several different connotations) is just dumb, to be quite frank.

    1. If it bothers you, RESPAWN!! You can typically respawn at a keep instantly in ESO, you don’t have to sit there and watch someone “sexually assault” you if it bothers you.

    2. Basically no one that tea bags other players has sexual assault, or whatever other real life trauma you may have experienced, in mind. It’s childish, yes, but they aren’t evil people that are trying to bring bad memories to the surface or ruin your life.

You gotta realize that real life behavior =/= in-game behavior. It is preferable to be cordial and friendly online just as you would be in real life, but the whole point of a video game is to be able to do things that you otherwise can’t in the real world. Sometimes we all like to just goof around and blow off some steam. Are you really saying we should be banned for that? That makes you sound just as selfish/rude as the tea baggers.

Only reason I use "teabag" instead of /emotes is because crouching is ONE button click, while hitting enter, and typing /emotes puts me at risk of geting ganked, as there are always hidden enemys nearby.

You feel harased by me crouching over your body? you want this animation banned? sure go ahead, but I will still do stuff to your body, bashing, light/heavy attacking it, or other clever ways to make you respawn, and try to make you catch me.
