Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?

I passed by a few and engaged with one since I saw there was a named boss there. I don't remember its given name but it's a wamasu and it's M-something the Wave-Eater.

I'm not sure if this is an L2P issue but I'd really appreciate a death recap tip hinting at what the expected counterplay is for its Shed Lightning attack, which is the one that rapidly starts ticking about 10 seconds into the encounter. It seems like it ramps up, too. With 4-5 other players (some CP750, some about CP300-400) we'd get electrocuted repeatedly with seemingly no way to survive. We tried standing on dry land, not using lightning attacks/abilities at all (thinking it was charging the boss), facing it away, kiting it, and couldn't figure out what you're supposed to do. I didn't see any interruptible prompt either.

I'm 100% fine with it being difficult/requiring finesse, but a hint would be greatly preferable to "did you know that heavy attacks do more damage than light attacks and you can spend magicka to activate abilities?" Even if the hint is "get more people". I don't know if the other named geyser bosses have unique death recap tips, but I went into Cloudrest and the recap tips there were quite helpful.

Template characters (and therefore existing ones once live) do not do 'The Mind Trap' and therefore do not stumble directly across 'Raz' to start the main quest

Every new character that I have run through 'The Mind Trap' has either missed many weapons or had to spend a very long time trying to find 'the right' weapon, none have found 3 pieces of medium or light armor to equip and learn those skill lines

As a tutorial there is no sneak or lock picking (that I have found)

Given that there is a skill advisor in game it would be useful if it was pointed out that there other options than just the default

The Townhouse ground floor is too dark and closed in. I noticed there were some windows on the exterior groundfloor. There should be interior versions of those windows; that would help a lot with the closed in and "fancy basement" feel that some of the rooms have.

    1. Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?

A new tutorial is meant to be terrific, but it is not because of just one things: a blur. This blur is terrible. It is not only preventing from admiring the amazing environment. It prevents from exploring the area. I tried to find suitable weapons for my sorc and my quickly eyes got tired. I mean, physically tired. It was impossible to fight or loot containers, so I quit trying to find a staff or some armor.

For a new player a blur will be confusing, unpleasant and truly pushing off thing. A new player may think: “Is the game instantly blurred like this?”

As for my efforts to find weapons and armor: when starting on Firemoth Island, we have all weapons instantly available in a hut. It is very smart. A regular player chooses what he needs. A new player has a great opportunity to test all the weapons to find a favorite one.

When starting a new character, I try to get my class and weapons skill lines as soon as possible, so that no level up will be in vain. With this new tutorial I don’t have this opportunity. I would prefer to start on Firemoth Island or in Coldharbour rather than the new place.

The overall tutorial experience: want to leave this place as soon as possible. Very disappointing, because the environment seems to be just amazing. Please, please remove that terrible blur!

The first dialogue after leaving tutorial place is very long. It was interesting for me as I’m a fan of lore. But for a new player it will not be interesting. It will even be confusing.

    2. Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
    Yes, quite clear

    3. Were you able to find things to do consistently?
Seems that everything is ok with quests, but I preffered to run around instead as I was exited about the new land.

    4. Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
    No

    5. Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
Yes, I was exploring the beach and saw a light clearly indicatins somwthing "dolmen-like". I ran there but it was too late. But still, creatures lying around were fascinating.

    6. Do you have any other general feedback?
The island is quite adorable. I can't help admire the new creatures. I haven't seen much so far, but those I came across were done with such an imagination and detail! I wish I could have Lunar Moth and Sea Adder pets. I was glad to find out interesting varieties of imps. And they have their unique behaviour!
Previously I was greatly interested in the new Chapter's story. But now when I saw the island my deram is to explore it.

And a Grotto House. It is a masterpiece. Sadly, I will not be able to buy it - I think it will be a limited time offer (hope not...)

This is the official feedback thread for Summerset, mainly focusing on the zone, quests, and other types of content found in Summerset. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
    • Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?
    • Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
    • Were you able to find things to do consistently?
    • Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
    • Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

I posted in the main quest thread about how much I loved summerset. I think all of you did an amazing Job. But I figured I would come here and explain how great I think Summerset is. You gave me the chance to beta test SummerSet when I had NOT purchased the new chapter. I've played through the main quest, did some Jewelry crafting and played with the new skill line. I did all of this in your Beta for free. I loved it so much that today I bought the Summerset Isle Chapter. Once again, Great Job and I think well worth the Money.

Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?
Started a new character, played the tutorial. The visual blur was disorienting, otherwise it was good (better than Morrowind, but not as storied as the wailing prison).

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
    n/a

Were you able to find things to do consistently?
Well balanced, found things quickly, but no so fast that I could not look around.

Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
No, all clear. However, I avoided the quest lines (want it to be new).

Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
AG was easy to find, and fun to play. Good setup, having a replacement for the anchors was missing in Vvardenfell.

Do you have any other general feedback?
Visually stunning. The island seems a bit small, like it's scale does not match the map of Tamriel.

Had one game crash while traveling by wayshrine.

Been playing several hours a day since PTS deployment. The following are my impressions and feedback.

Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?

Not yet. Will do so next PTS update.

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?

    Yes

Were you able to find things to do consistently?

Stumbled upon all kinds of side quests everywhere I went. Tons to do.

Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?

Right from the start. Accepted Summerset quest from the Collections tab. Took a boat to Summerset from Vuhlkel Guard. Arrived in Summerset and quest still says to “Travel to Summeret”. I’m here, no quest marker or indicator telling me what to do next. Just wandering around the island doing side quests and jewel crafting.

By my third day of exploring the island, I came across Raz while heading toward the marker for another quest. I started on the main story quest, but not right away.

Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?

So far, took part in just one. My one experience has not shown me anything different from an anchor on the main land. But I enjoy doing those, so… I imagine I will like these to.

Do you have any other general feedback?

Ebon Sanctum – FYI – my FPS was fine until I entered this quest area. It tanked there for some reason. Don’t know if it’s on my end or not.

The delvs are very interesting and gorgeous. I like how they now have some tougher mobs placed in them, and the delv boss is noted by the huge boss health bar at the top of the screen now. A little more diversity having tougher mobs in there, that are not the boss, and not just one and two shot scrubs filling the place.

Indriks are too cool looking to kill. I avoid killing them as much as possible. That being said, I also love the Menagerie quest. They are one of the coolest looking fantasy creatures ever created.

Salamanders are too slow to attack and to use abilities. I usually kill them before they do anything, other than jump. I think their hitbox might be off to. Their heads are close to me, I swing, but no contact is made.

I have only played on my Stam NB so far. She is 2-3 shotting everything. She also burns down bosses, and key quest fights, quicker than the bosses can go through a rotation of abilities. I would suggest making NPCs and creatures a little tougher, or more health, or both.

I think the zone is the most gorgeous in the game. I have mainly worked on the Island side quests… they all have wonderful and interesting story lines. On few occasions I could see where they were going in the story… Still highly entertained. And it’s good to see at least 2, so far, of the “moral choice” quests in the game.

I am really enjoying how you have kept many of the same voice actors and actresses from the base game. It brings back some nostalgia, not to mention I always found the vast majority of the voice work to be incredible in this game. And I’m not talking about the well-known actors and actresses… The side-character performances. I just really enjoying hearing those people’s work continue in your game.

I have completed almost all side quests, if not all, and they don’t really have any sort of interesting rewards. For example: In Morrowind we got a ball of yarn furnishing, and even the Scarlet Judge costume. So far, it has been nothing but useless green items, and one painting furnishing. I’m barely into the main story at this time, but side quest completion has not been exciting. Thankfully though, they are entertaining quests in the first place. I do hope interesting rewards aren’t being passed by, in the game, just to be shoved into those ridiculous crown crates…

I’m pretty sure Niralin is my favorite side-quest NPC… After the choices I made, her dialogue at the quest conclusion was perfect. That smile of hers when she tells you what she’s looking forward to… Those minute little details are what makes the story content of this game unsurpassed.

Just did Traitor’s Vault. The surprise characters in that delv’s story line are wonderful to experience.

I’m not quite half way through the main story line. Raz is just as great a character as he always was. I am thrilled he has returned and have been looking forward to his content since the announcement. I am loving all the characters in this story line, new, old, and gold.

Okay so I took a closer look at Alinor.

So Shimmerene has very few locked doors which is great!.. but Alinor has far too many. I didn't notice them at first because of the cages that go across the doors makes it hard to tell they are meant to be doors.

Alinor needs to just have a bunch of generic town houses to be enterable to improve immersion. Atm only the top level of the city for the houses for named characters can be broken into. But all the houses down the side allys can't be entered and even one building in the middle of the shopping district that should just be an enterable store.

I am okay without being able to go up into the towers, although I would love to be able to, but it really needs these more generic houses to be enterable just like they are in the base game.

    1. Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?

yes i played through the tutorial and found the environment interesting but the blur was a bit rediculous. if your going for a loss of controll/disorienting feel...why not have player periodically while not in combat have the holding head animation where it would simulate the K'Tora trying to take possession of your mind along with more taunts from said character with maybe a fear effect every once in a while to give the urgency that you need to leave asap and break free...it could also be used to teach players the break free animation with a tooltip on how it works as breaking free is a required mechanic in eso for dungeon bosses. more monsters that intercept the player would also be appreciated instead of them just hanging around hoping you come accross them...they looked very listless. the weapons and armor should be more accessable in either the first cell you come out of or have areas that reflect the said imaginings of your character i need of said equipment. (i.e. a mage like area with floating staff and a few furnishings to reflect a mage like vibe with the equipment ready to be picked up, a warrrior area with the weapons you would need along with furnishings with said equipment with a statue to make it stand out to reflect that architype, same with thief only have bags and coffers to pick up the pieces of gear from with furnishings in the area to reflect the archetype) if your trying to reflect the player needing these items and them appearing...they need to make sense. these areas could be anywhere in the area but not altogether if you go the second route i mentioned. having weapons and armor just lying around is going to confuse a new player as even as a veteran player i tend to forget which pieces of armor are light or med when lain out that way. other than that...the environment was pretty...i love the areas that mind traps take place in as they look exotic and interesting.

    2. Was it clear how to get to Summerset?

for somone who starts in tutorial yes. for those picking up quest from the chapters tab in collections or just getting to the island to start mq and im refering to mq, the quest is not clear as to where razumdar is as in marker...it needs to be fixed. you know how newbs are...they need an arrow to get anywhere :)

    3. Were you able to find things to do consistently?

yes but the cities especially shimmerene feels a bit empty even after the quest to rescue ppl from a certain something. please fill the city a bit more after said quest is completed. it needs to feel more alive. ai bit offtopic but eh...it needs to be said.

    4. Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?

no there was nothing unclear about what you should do next except for existing characters trying to complete queens decree quest which ive touched a bit on above. literally had to complete about 4 quests before i found him.

    5. Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
yes i found a few...i even tried to solo one to my chagrin. i died 3 seconds in lol. i went in thinking they were like dark anchors and that was my mistake. interesting as a group activity though. i like the concept of them.

    6. Do you have any other general feedback?

summerset was nice and interesting and although it looks small...its alot bigger that the player first assumes. the creatures were adorable and unique...i look forward to the indrik becoming a crown store item along with some of the critters littered around the island. i also hope for a psjic house that isnt as huge as the grotto but isnt locked to only crowns...but that may be inevitable...nothing put out in housing has quite met my taste yet...but im sure eventually something will.

an offtopic suggestion related to bug reporting in the future...there is no in game subject for reporting bugs with achievements and id like to request there be made a drop down in one of the subjects for it.

Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?
No, I did not, accidentally skipped it. I plan to once the expansion is released. Something I'm saving for a surprise.

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
Unsure. I chose the template and IIRC, that spawned me automatically in Summerset.

Were you able to find things to do consistently?

Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
One little issue I saw/see many are/were having was finding Razum-Dar after arriving, primarily for those who already had the quest to go to Summerset. There should be a marker pointing to him for those people. Other than that, no, there wasn't an unclear point.

Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?

I found one but did not try it. Yet.

Do you have any other general feedback?
The island is gorgeous. I had my initial gripes with how it looked a bit "human" in architecture, but once I realized just how much the towering castles and sky-high buildings truly fit the Altmer and the Ancient Elves, I liked it a lot more. Everything just shines. Altmer are my favorite and I'm glad to see they were done justice.
Didn't finish the main-quest yet but that is also good so far.
EDIT: I took a stop at Sunhold despite it being a dungeon (i suck at PVE) for lore reasons and just to get a glimpse of it and I'm in awe. It's gorgeous. Alinor reminds me of Athens and Sunhold reminds me of Venice. It's incredible. That being said, I have one gripe. I really, really, really wish it was explorable/available as an actual city. NPCs and all, instead of a dungeon. I really love it.
    ____
But other than that, yes, I do have one major thing. Not exactly major, but something I really wish to see. Oddly specific too and it's not really something I demand but again, I would love.
I really like Prince Naemon, the character from the AD questline. I really like him. I consider him to be one of the better written characters in the game and I've even seen one another refer to him as one of the best in the entirety of TES which I can't really disagree with. That oddly in-depth character. That one.
    That being said...
    tumblr_p5ypmz8x2q1t0mf2yo4_1280.png
There should be a statue of Prince Naemon somewhere on Summerset. This can be disregarded with a "the statue is not finished yet" or a "It's not in a place you can visit on Summerset/Auridon", but it's had to have been at least two years since that letter and even with the death of the Prince, he had to have been made into a martyr, due to Ayrenn's insisting that he died to save her life, rather than him being corrupted and trying to kill her. And, I'm not sure why it'd be in Auridon rather than a place like Alinor.
    So. Gardens. Alinor. The garden wouldn't be inside the palace (that wouldn't make sense) and there's no patch of grass visible that would house it from the map, so I think that a statue of this dude;
    20180325013109_1.jpg
right in this place would make sense.
    20180420175859_1.jpg
Of course, that would require an entire model to be made but it'd add a very particularly impressive detail. Again, I don't demand it in any sort of way. Actually, even just putting that generic statue that you see everywhere of a clean-shaven Altmer man standing with one foot behind him and a hand raised to his chest in that spot would let me know that you heeded this request for a lore detail.

But something that is also a bit more do-able; more about Prince Naemon and Queen Ayrenn. Little things, like books of their childhood. Documents. Letters. I'm not sure if there's any already as I have not emptied out all content yet, but, still. No matter whether you place this after the AD questline or before, Ayrenn and Naemon are both over on the mainland, so I don't expect to see either, but maybe some mentions of Naemon.
Everyone is distracted by the decree but I'd still expect more talking about how Naemon should've been king, just the little details. That would require new lines to be recorded so if not, again. Some items you can find/steal/pickpocket, documents, etc.. I really love Naemon and I especially loved the AD questline and so this is an excellent opportunity to expand/develop on the characters introduced in it.

I recall that in Seyda Neen, there was a Boatswain NPC who would take you to the alliance zones if you wanted to start there first. It would be good if this was added for Summerset too. The most logical place to put them would be on those little docks just to the south of Shimmerene, just down from where you pop out of the Tutorial and meet Raz. For best integration into the base-game Main Quest, this NPC would offer passage to Daggerfall, Vulkhel Guard or Davon's Watch.

Edit: Note that I do specifically mean the starter cities, and not the starter islands (and this should be changed for Seyda Neen too), since that's the quickest way to come across the Hooded Figure. If you go to the starter islands first, quest progression order doesn't quite work, as you don't meet the Hooded Figure until later, and then you end up on the starter islands again afterwards.

Current progression (from Seyda Neen, assuming DC): Navigator (near Tutorial exit) > Stros (all quests available) > Daggerfall (Hooded Figure starts MQ) > Wailing Prison > Stros (no quests left, players confused as to why they're here again, have to find their own way back to Daggerfall)

Recommended progression (from Seyda Neen and Shimmerene, assuming DC): Navigator (near Tutorial exit) > Daggerfall (Hooded Figure starts MQ) > Wailing Prison > Stros (all quests available, quest chain takes them to Daggerfall and beyond)

Abyssal Geysers are a bit... meh to be honest, very pretty but they lack the spectacle of the dark anchors their mechanics are so clearly based on... they need to be bigger, loads more effects... tbh any effects would be an improvement. At the moment it’s mostly a flat area with a bunch of trash mobs and one shots... even in thirty k health and maxed resources and it’s unclear what to do about that lightning tick. Needs work

Also I fear many players will get frustrated, while they use dark anchor mechanics they are far more punishing, it might be better to label them as World bosses to prevent confusion. Players used to vet dungeons will be fine but the majority don’t play vet...

Thus far my experience has been a pleasing one. The new scenery is lovely and the new tutorial easy to get through though the dream blurs do get to be a bit much. The abyssal geysers are a blast, I came across my first by accident and have done a few others since. Great fun overall. Am definitely looking forward to completing the content available for the pts and looking forward to launch in June. Another great ESO DLC!!!

It would be great to be able to explore all the buildings. There are too many barred doors in Alinor. I thought I heard on the ESO Live a couple of weeks ago that we could go to the very top of the buildings. For example, the bank is huge but you can't to anywhere but the main floor and there's a staircase visible but not accessible. I tried jumping over the counters numerous times but couldn't. The castle is very limited too which is disappointing. I was expecting to be able to explore these beautiful buildings and can't. Please open them up.

    Minor possible bug;

Expected; as with live and during earlier testing PTS, claim level rewards sends to character window to spend points then 'acept' sends to skill points.

What happens; claim goes to character but accept does not go to skill points. Instead have to press 'k' to get to skill points or use icon.

    Minor glitch? Maybe!

Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?
My first thought after completing the tutorial was that it was shot, sweet, and to the point. Things were easy to navigate and the environment was interesting.

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
For some reason I was unable to begin the questline to get to Summerset. Normally I'd start it by going through the DLC startin quests but it never was an option. I had to teleport to a guildmate already there.

Were you able to find things to do consistently?
Wandering around, there was normally always something to do, yes. Searching for harvest nodes/chests, enemies to fight, cities to explore, delves, NPCs to talk to. I haven't spent too much time talking to NPCs for not wanting to spoil quests for myself before official release, but from what I've been able to run around and explore I still haven't gotten bored.

Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
As mentioned before, I haven't really done much in the way of questing yet

Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
The first time one spawned beside me it scared the crap out of me before I realized what it was xD When fighting in a group, much like with the dolmens, the mobs drop way too fast to get much in the way of attacks in unless you throw sown an AoE of some sort.

Do you have any other general feedback?
The atmosphere and feeling of Summerset just feels... different. In a good way. Wandering through the vinyards, the small farms, the small ponds hidden away is a nice break from having so many of the towns in the other areas being inhabited by enemy NPCs. So far most of my feedback is very positive. The size of the expansion is decent, the wildlife and environment unique. As some people pointed out, some of the architecture (although beautiful) wasn't quite what I'd pictured from some of the lore. I wouuldn't expect EVERYTHING to be made of crystal and stuff, but having a small town or something made like that could be pretty amazing.

Played through the new tutorial, i liked it....gave a thorough explanation on how to do things in the game and game play.

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?
    Yes very clear,

Were you able to find things to do consistently?
    yes
Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?
no, but i like to explore the area and get a feel of where i am going...
Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?
no, not yet; looking forward to that.

Do you have any other general feedback?
in the fighters guild (i think) the NPC sat in mid air last night. Maybe just a small glitch, but something to look at. I like how you can customize and build jewelry(that's a nice touch). I was looking forward to having the skills already there in your menu rather than finding them in game and having an achievement....

I have attempted two Abyssal Geysers.

The first was near the main city of Alinor and there were three of us fighting. It was a challenge for the three of us (I was CP390, another was mid-CP400, and another was CP720). The final boss was a decent challenge, harder than the initial waves but achievable. I felt it scaled very nicely and was a decent challenge, similar to Dolmens on the mainland, and with the three of us we were able to complete it with no one falling. We all got close to death but we were able to adjust strategy and we beat it.

The second was north and west of Alinor, along the coast north of and past a large cove. There must have been 15 or 20 of us and the initial waves were dead easy. Again, similar to a Dolmen where a lot of players can clear the swarm of waves easily. The final boss, however, was too hard. It was a named boss, similar to the occasional named bosses for Dolmens, but it was nearly impossible to beat (I won't post specifics). It had a *massive* AOE that wiped all of us three times. I don't think there was a visual indicator similar to other boss attacks warning us to clear. (Note: I had a health/stamina meal running and nearly 20k health.) The AOE one-shot me and pretty much everyone else fighting it. It had several other attacks that did have visual indicators that would hit hard and could one-shot if you didn't have enough health but they afforded us forewarning and gave us a chance to dodge or move out of the way. This AOE, however... wow. After the lot of us dying 4 times in a row, almost all of us gave up and revived to a wayshrine.

Some rebalance may be needed.

Holly Molly, a pleasant surprise, did one without a Named Boss, one with a Named Boss. The Named Boss has a One Shot Mechanic that needs some tweaking me things but overall, finally a challenge

    +1

I just posted my experience and Dirk is spot on.
    • Without a named boss, they are a good challenge that scales with number of people taking on the geyser but achievable.
    • With a named boss, they mechanic is too difficult. Nearly all of us (15-20 players) were killed en masse. Please tweak.

    • Was it clear how to get to Summerset?

Yes, it was very clear with an existing toon how to take a Wayshrine to the island.

I didn't find a starter quest, if there is one, similar to Clockwork's To The Clockwork City quest. A breadcrumb quest like that would be nice to hook the story, which there may be and I just haven't found it.
    • Were you able to find things to do consistently?

The initial city (Shimmerene?) had a handful of quests but not what I would call "a lot". As I wandered around, however, I ran into more and more quest markers. I need to test more but I definitely got the sense there was a lot to do. It felt similar to Morrowind.
    • Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?

Not so far. The mechanic where the currently selected quest is always replaced with a new accepted quest was confusing. I am sure I could get used to it, but it threw me off. Once I figured out what was going on, I was able to follow the quest markers easily enough. I need to test more here, too, but so far so good.
    • Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?

Yes, I've submitted a couple of posts specifically on those because, well, wow. Imbalance.
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

It is a very, very, very pretty zone. It's probably the most attractive zone in the game. The cities have a distinct feel that screams High Elf and yet are clearly distinct even from the main High Elf zones on the continent. The countryside is really quite lovely, too.

Random monster encounters in the wide seem sparser than other zones. Some areas seemed a bit more densely populated with enemies than others. Perhaps this is by design, but I had to wander quite a lot to run into any creatures or enemies.

The zone doesn't feel all that much larger than Vvardenfell or Orsinium, acreage-wise. It also didn't feel more packed with locations than other zones. It feels about as large as Vvardenfell in both size and things to do, but perhaps it will feel like "the largest zone ever released" as I explore more (see following paragraph for why).

There are a few sections of the map I couldn't figure out how to navigate around. I've been almost everywhere on the south and west areas of the island. I haven't quite figured out how to navigate to the north and northeast sections of the island, though perhaps that will be self-evident after I explore more.

I posted this on the jewelry crafting thread, but there are *not* enough seam nodes. This feels like a big, bit gap. The jewelry mat economy is going to be grossly inflated for a long time as people scale up their skills. The skill line also feels like it will be a much more difficult grind to max out than the other crafting skill lines. I understand the design motivation -- to make jewelry crafting a difficult achievement and to not diminish the other ways to get jewelry -- but the current design will be demotivating to complete.

More to come as I test more...

As I said in the other thread about the size of the Summerset map, I think the geographical size of Summerset is too small compared to how big it is in comparison to the other game areas and the official map of Tamriel. I think there should be more content, too.

Right now I can't recommend it to my friends, even though it is a very beautiful area.

I realize it's awfully close to launch to make the area bigger, but it really is just too small. Maybe update the size after its launch?

    General Feedback on Locations

    Names of Abyssal Geysers
If they're going to be anything like Dark Anchors (which they are), it is likely that players will want to call out which ones are active in /zone chat. The current names are a bit too cumbersome for that to be done easily, and players will inevitably shorten them. Might as well make it easy for everyone and make the names shorter in-game:
    • Abyssal Geyser Corgrad >> Corgrad Geyser
    • Abyssal Geyser Direnni >> Direnni Geyser
    • Abyssal Geyser Rellenthil >> Rellenthil Geyser
    • Abyssal Geyser Sil'var Woad >> Silverwood Geyser
    • Abyssal Geyser Sunhold >> Sunhold Geyser
    • Abyssal Geyser Welenkin >> Welenkin Geyser
This would also be more consistent with the way Dark Anchor Dolmens are already named.

    Inconsistent POI Icons
There are a few locations on Summerset where the icon does not match the design of the location itself:
    • Rellenthil should be marked as a Town 30px-ON-mapicon-Town.png (currently marked as a Ruin, but nothing's in ruins)
    • Cey-Tarn Keep should be marked as a Fort 30px-ON-mapicon-Keep.png (currently marked as a Gate, which usually implies no extensive fortifications)
    • Sea Keep should be marked as a Fort 30px-ON-mapicon-Keep.png (currently marked as a Gate, which usually implies no extensive fortifications)
    • Direnni Acropolis should be marked as a Ruin 30px-ON-mapicon-Ruin.png (currently marked as a Gate, which doesn't apply to an abandoned ruin)

    Hi there!
Up to now, after 4+ hourse of playing my second beta (after the very first one), it feels well overall. The tutorial is fine, just a bit too short and have to wander to get interesting stuff - but that's quite normal, new players will just get the very basics and learn everything else afterwards. The game is already too guided in its mechanics - especially after the addition of the skill adviser. The only issue has already been mentioned many times, Orisanna (or whatever she's called) runs ahead right when you get to level 2 and are busy reading stuff like abilities and skills and such.
Summerset looks perfectly integrated in the Tamriel environment while keeping its originality, which is a result of isolation and must be stressed - as it is, up to now. I like the addition of the boss life bar to delve bosses, even though I wonder if they have been made more difficult or it's just me sucking at playing with this new character. I'll check back when the EU week is rolling!

Did you play through the new tutorial? If so, what did you think overall?

Yes, I created a new character. I thought it a step above Morrowind's tutorial and not as good as the base game's. However, if the idea is short and sweet, I think you've nailed that.

Was it clear how to get to Summerset?

Of course! A new character escapes the mind trap, walks up the steps, and there you are in Summerset! I then went on a old character, but I thought there was someplace in world to find the quest. I never could. Then I looked in the crown store for a quest starter and I couldn't find it there, either. I never thought to look in Stories under Collections. But by then, I just ported to the Shimmerene wayshrine and was done with it.

Were you able to find things to do consistently?

Absolutely. I was tripping over things to do the whole time.

Was there any point where it was unclear what you should do next, or where you should be going?

In the main quest? No, not at all. This quest line is very good about the last person in the current quest giving you the next quest immediately.

(edit) Oh, wait! I remember once, I think it was the first quest, that I didn't notice the next person to talk to was in the room in the tower. I walked out and the quest markers guided me out of the tower. It took retracing my steps to find the person again. I submitted a ticket about that bad pathing. I also had issues finding the Dreaming Cave the first time. I swam all the way around the island before realizing that the staircase was there under the tower, duh. Those were the only real issues I saw in pathing and where to go next.

Did you find an Abyssal Geyser? If so, what did you think about the experience?

Several. It was a nice change of pace from dolmens. It's the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet dolmens!

Do you have any other general feedback?

The main quest line is the culmination of four years of story overall. I thought it was wonderful of course, being here the whole time. I don't know that I could give you a first player's experience of all those moving parts to Summerset's main quest line, though. That might be overwhelming for a brand new player. Moreover, the Morrowind and Clockwork City quest lines now may seem anticlimatic, seeing as how they are Nocturnal's and Clavicus Vile's build up to the Summerset plot. However, I don't know what else you could do with a new player coming into this chapter. Requiring them to play through M and CWC first would not go over. Darien's part in the DC zones and then Coldharbour is given a neat explanation, but Nocturnal's Earl? I need to take my new character to Morrowind to see how (or if) that's handled. I guess it's unavoidable, though.

I am interested in replay to see how a non-Altmer character is addressed, and how people who have run across Raz, Darien, and Nocturnal's Earl are addressed in Summerset.

I had absolutely no problems with the size of the zone.

It's anticlimactic for a old character to reach summerset. The mind trap should just be the default introduction
