AD got screwed with town placement.

I've only recently started PvPing in order to farm transmute crystals and AD is almost always last place. EP typically dominates. I guess this is in line with the numbers ZOS shared recently about EP being the highest population faction and having the most PvP kills. It is the Skyrim and Morrowind faction after all, so all the single player TES fans are there.

I guess the map layout contributes to it as well. This is why I don't care about PvP in MMOs. They are never balanced. I play dedicated PvP games for PvP (MOBAs and FPSs).

If any faction I would say is dangerous it would go like this: Ebonheart pact > Daggerfall covenant > Aldmeri dominion
I main dc but I am aware of how dangerous ebonheart can potentially be.

AD has the easiest to defend Castles as well, no bad placement like Aleswell or Kingscrest alowing enemy siege out of range of defensive siege.
Not to mention the only ocean fishing spots!

This. Being master angler is an Achievement, except for you ADs! All fishes can be found on your side of the map, most even in front of your main gate.

These are great updates n nice to see Cyro get’n some TLC. It’d also be nice if could work in a lil fix for the Towns- Vlas Crops n Bruma and make them a limited range Respawn zone similar to Fwd Camps (though possibly larger zone). This would cut down on the easy PvDoor access to the AD zones. Please n thank you...my mount getting tired of constantly having to ride out to flip them....

All those years ago, when Cyrodiil's geography was plotted out in earlier TES games, the mapmakers were secretly plotting to screw over one of the factions in a game that had not yet been conceived.

    Definitely. Its those darned mapmakers.

Not the devs who decided to put PVP flags in the towns where they did and who decided that Cropsford predates the settlement of the town in TES IV: Oblivion.

Definitely those treacherous mapmakers. How dare they have it out for AD! :)

It’s the combination of location plus pvp flags in some but not all daily quest towns. My proposal is to balance it by adding more capturable flags.

Cropsford is on the red side of the water, making the bridge a natural choke point working against an AD attempt to hold it, while a EP attempt to hold it suffers no such bottleneck and such short horse time from Drake.

Vlastarus is not correspondingly placed as a threat to DC territory, yet has a flag which draws attention and attack from blues.

Then there is Bruma, technically inside blue territory by a hair, with that flag drawing red attack resulting in splitting the town.

And during an event such as the jubilee, the lack of flags on chey (in red front yard) and chorrol (in blue front yard) supply those factions with a place to collect quest boxes away from the attention of the alliance war fight.

End result being, EP has 2.5 towns to quest in - Cheydinhall, cropsford, and half of contested Bruma. DC has 1.5 to 2 towns to quest in - Chorrol, half of contested Bruma, and a portion of Vlas representing the times they use it as respawn to attack Brindle or Black Boot. And AD has .5 to 1 - Vlastarus with the attention grabbing flag so placed to provide a hit in any direction.

It is the disparity of flags that accentuates the geography trend. Adding two flags to the neglected towns so that the DC and EP front yard questing towns ALSO draw the pvp war attention would be the simplest and least work.

Too long? Didn’t read? - it’s not only the flags. It’s not only the location. It’s the combination.

If it is true that AD did get "screwed with town placement", then it is a fair price to pay for having that solitary Fishing Spot.

They certainly did, which is why you should play AD if you want to learn PvP: fighting a constant 2-front war means more engagement and practice than holding hands in Xv1 groups and pushing south.

Yeah on thoose rare occasions when AD dont fight a two front war they totally roll over the map. So if u wanna be a skilled pvper join the AD ranks. fighting 2 enemys makes you stronger.

The fishing spot is something you use once per char while the town screw-up is persistent each single day for as long as town flags are in place. Fishing has an impact on oneself individually, towns have an impact on campaigns as a whole. So that's two different things that should not be mixed up.

Regarding fishing, as long as AD is not spawn camped, chances are minimal there will be any player coming out of the gate and mess up with fishermen. Way more likely they fast travel directly to where the action takes place. So the one and only inconvenience may be to ride down which can take a couple of minutes. My advice: Don't choose a campaign dominated by your alliance that saves you the travel time. As I mentioned, if you have all the keeps under red or blue control, there will be AD coming out of the gate eventually, where else shall they go? They also may be annoyed for being spawn locked and in the consequence be tempted to even attack harmlessly fishing reds or blues. But that's really all to say about it.

In the grand scale of things, the town flags made towns a strategical part of PVP with the option to put pressure on the keeps in the surrounding. It is a fast and unlimited spawn for as long as you control the town so it is essential to have them in balance. They are not atm. All AD home keeps are potentially endangered if Crops or Vallastrus are taken by EP or DC. In the consequence AD would have to defend the towns like keeps if they want to effectively protect their home keeps. There is no comparable situation for EP nor DC. Bruma is of equal interest for them both but there's barely a chance AD could use towns to put either of the two under pressure. Combined with the flat and zerg-friendly surrounding in the southern territory this is a tremendous disadvantage that should be looked at.

True, but most on PS4 don't take advantage of the hill behind Fare to siege and always go for the front door.
Back on PC we were always in before anyone knew it from that hill.
