Steam account can't login: "Server connection timed out please try again later"

I can't login to EU or NA servers. So we suffer through another all day maintenance to get this. These guys are a joke :/

I play through Steam and can login into the NA Server, but not the EU Server (I play on both). Getting the Server connection timed out error for EU.

I'm on the east coast of Canada.

No. There is no solution to this.

If you bought the game through Steam after a certain date - i have forgotten the date but was a long time ago - no workaround will get you in.
You can start your game only one way - and that is through the Steam launcher.
I'm coming into the game via Steam, too and learned this the hard way the last time this happened.
Same issue not too long ago. :/

There's also no way to untie your account from being linked to Steam.

2nd class ESO player here who cannot log into the NA server.

No offense but if you are 2nd class then we who play on PC European servers are 3rd world pariahs.

And yes, I tried, you can't log in with ESO account credentials as it says to start via Steam.
I don't play ESO since 15.06. because Cyrodiil is broken since Summerset (PvE isn't much better, too)...

When I start the Eso64.exe it doesn't tell me to start through Steam, it just wants a username and a password (and yes it is bought through Steam and I normally login in through Steam). So this could mean I have one of them older accounts. Its ages ago, so I can't remember what my password is (if I even ave one?) :/ how do get ask ZOS for a password? Support requires you to login, but since I don't have that, how can I get them to help me?

I could log in via eso64.exe and using my elderscrollsonline.com password, but my wife can't. She also didn't receive an invitation to the forum like I did yet. Is there any way to make her able to log in?

I think I am in the same shoes as your wife. If I have an eso website account linked to my Steam account, how do I get the information from it?

I looked the password up in the browser for elderscrollsonline.com and used that with my user name. No idea if I ever did anything special to enable non Steam login.

    1) Did you rebuy ESO on Steam (you played before via stand alone ESO launcher) or
    2) you purchaced on Steam (like me)?

If 2nd, you can't do anything as I explained.

If you hate so much Steam, why you bought ESO on Steam? It's not Steamworks exclusive game, so why you bought it anyway?

I have nothing constructive to add. Just want to vent that this Steam login issue is absolute rubbish!

And to ZOS, I don't pay my ESO+ membership to spend my morning sitting at a damn dysfunctional login screen.

Now that you mention it, it's funny cause this morning I received the email informing me that my eso + subscription has been renewed. They do an excellent and punctual job at charging my wallet but they fail to deliver their product without problems.

I think this thing with not beeing able to play for days is a great way to advertise the next chapter Summerset. If I was ZOS I would really start to think how manny sales will they lose because of this. Im not really a rant person but this is really becoming irritating. :(

    Reading comprehention problem?
He literally typed that s/he hates Steam.

So again, why would you buy non-Steamworks exclusive game on Steam if you hate Steam? There is no logic.
It's like World of Warships, Paladins, War Thunder, LotRO and hundreds other games which are not Steamworks exclusive.
