Steam account can't login: "Server connection timed out please try again later"

NOTE THIS IS AN OLD THREAD, THESE EDITS ARE ALSO OLD!
EDIT2: I just got in, seems to be working now!

EDIT: How do I get a password for my Steam eso account? How do I login to the website? I can't choose to create an account because then I need to specify an account name to create; but I already have an account name. Im confused here. Did I create an account back when I bought it, (that was several years ago, I think, cant remember specifically when) and just forgot about it? What do I do then?

I have two accounts, my own and one for my kids. The one for my kids is a Steam account and it can't login it gets a "Server connection timed out please try again later" every time. So I thought I would try to contact support but then when I go to login in on the website it occurred to me that I don't have an account there because it was bought through Steam. Anyone know what I can do from here to get support? Or perhaps just an idea on how to solve the error?

I'm having this issue as well, I think this is another EU server issue. Again.

It appears to be an issue when launching through Steam. Launching the game via the eso64.exe works.

I'm getting this as well, for Steam. For non-steam, I seem to be logging in just fine.

I hope they'll fix the Steam issue soon...

Hum I managed to login through steam as soon as the servers came back up, but I had to restart my computer before resuming playing, so I exited, restarted and after that I can't login anymore.

I can't use eso64.exe. It says if you purchased the game through steam use steam launcher. I can't use eso64.exe. Is there a solution to that?

I can use the eso64.bit exe, doesn't give me an error. But of course it wants a password because it is not done through Steam, so I will try to create an account now on the website to see if I can use the password I select there to login with.

Ah man, that wont work because it want's me to create a eso ID. But I already got one?? So how do I get a password for my Steam eso account????

The ese64 only works for people that joined before a specific date, think it was like early 2016 or something.

I.e. for people who rebuyed game on Steam so they had to create ESO account before that.

Yes, you need to have create ESO account and then link with Steam one.
That's what I did - I played for free on Steam, bought it after free period was over and then later created ESO account (and linked with Steam) so I could register and access forum here.

    EDIT
I tried it and it doesn't work when I enter my ESO account credentials. It says to start via Steam.

I don't play ESO since 15.06. because Cyrodiil is broken since Summerset (PvE isn't much better, too)...

Aldmeri Dominion (PC Europe via Steam)

The cowardly Wood Elves are best noted for their unwillingness to engage in a face-to-face attack; a Bosmer will strike at you from every side except the front. You won't cross swords with a Bosmer, but you might catch an arrow in the throat. Be wary in forests and jungles, and watch your back.
