Aren't those bots just farming wax? I dont see how they are affected by this motif heavy event

You can't bot motifs since those either drop from dailies requiring rather complex interactions, hard to code for, or dungeons that are hard for the majority of the human population in game, let alone a simple software. So the claim the OP is using bots is ridiculous.

Ah, but you see, it’s MUCH harder for ESO’s 1% to corner the market when supply’s so high. That money you’re making is money they should be making (in their minds). They really don’t care that those of us who craft are now easily able to acquire motifs we’ve wanted for ages, but haven’t been able to afford (due to low drop rates and them cornering the market).

Here's the thing about economy...it fluctuates. Markets rise and markets fall. They hardly stay the same, and they rarely just keep on the rise. You keep speaking like an expert on all things economical, yet fail to recite this basic fact.
And quite frankly, the market was due for a "sale". Especially on the EU side of things. Compared to NA, prices were getting astronomical to the point of ridiculousness.
Worry not, the market will rise again, because that's how markets work.
If you don't feel you can sell for what you want, hold out.
But saying you are owed something.....please. You've had it good for a long time. Now the market is in a down swing. That's exactly how markets are supposed to work. You are owed nothing.

Hey, even veteran players struggle to get motifs and make oodles of gold. Most I’ve ever had is 500k. I actually play the game and gold out my gear, so any gold I make isn’t around for long. These “professional” traders and gold sellers spend most of their game time playing the economy. I’m just as happy as you are that we don’t have to fork over 50k+ for certain motifs anymore.

The prices will not sky rocket because the market will be more balanced with these items being much less rare and spread out and because of this event there will be less demand as more people will be satisfied that really wanted them in the first place. That's probably the reason these motifs are being given away, because they are too rare right now and people like him are demanding so much.

one time on xbox na when housing was new i refused to buy someones redguard carpet recipe for 400k. as there was some people buying them all and sellin for that much or more. idk bout pc but the market mogels on Console get insane. like I cant even describe the types of behaviors that happen in the trader world.
