Is it safe to come back in? Please...I don't want to be slapped anymore! </petulant>

I have seen mention of an extension but the official event page shows the same end date as before.

Now there are other threads complaining that the motif drops are "Ruining the Economy". I am really trying to have sympathy and put myself in their shoes. I can help but imagine the type of players most upset that the value of the motifs has dropped are the same ones who are very end game players who are already sat on vast amounts of gold. Probably the ones who already have these motifs so were rubbing their hands at the prospect of selling the motifs they already know for millions to add to the millions they have already. Some who's main focus is to make as much money as possible.

In the end people can play the game to be what they want it to be. If they want to play it as a competition to become as rich as possible that is their choice. Perhaps the drive to keep making as much as possible can be addictive too. If exploiting the game economy is part of an enjoyment of the game then isn't responding to changes in the economy part of the challenge too?

In my case I see the other motifs as a nice little bonus. I would not be upset if the drop rates on these were reduced as long as I know there is a way to get them later. The only one I am concerned about is Worm Cult because so far there has been no confirmation these will ever be available again after the event.

    No slaps, just sources.

Here's the source for the event extension: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/406113/recent-eu-server-issues-anniversary-event-extension
    Hi everyone,

We’ve recently had several different issues impacting the European megaservers that, unfortunately, happened to all hit in a relatively short time span of a few days. Some have been specific to game errors related to authentication, some have been related to hardware, while others have been related to power and large ISP outages in the region. We have resolved the issues that we can control on our end, and issues outside of our control are being remediated by those providers so we can all enjoy the remaining time from the anniversary event.

With that said, to thank everyone for sticking with us during these recent issues, we’ll be extending the anniversary event by one week on all megaservers and platforms. We hope you’ll enjoy this extra time to use the cake XP buff and gain additional Anniversary Gift Boxes until the event concludes on Monday, April 23 at 10am EDT.

In short, ALL grinding leads to disinterest and boredom.

I have no idea why people do it. From xp to events.

This type of event is so ideal for casual play in my mind. I do what I normally do, 6 writs and enjoy my free stuff. Simple. The idea of grinding away on content I dislike that will 'burn' me out on a game I love is idiotic.

People are greedy and people get obsessed. That's them not the game. Half dont even intend tp run worm they just collecting it like Pokémon

I grind as long as i am enjoying it...and then i stop and do something else. Im enjoying this grind, not just because of the boxes but because im going places i dont normally go and i know i can switch up quests if i get bored of doing certain ones and still get the rewards. By the end of the event i will be grinded out probably and likely greatly reduce my play time after that for a month or two.

Does Worm Cult have a style material? (Maybe worms)

As I will probably have levelled up 6 alts to champion rank over this event, If I get the full Worm Cult motif I could celebrate by making one of these alts their first CP 160 set in Worm Cult style. I probably won't care even if it is ugly. I mean "Worm Cult" doesn't really summon images of pastel coloured fine evening-wear. Maybe it is supposed to be a bit shabby.

Yes they come in the boxes too. Worm residue or some such. BTW, you can preview all motifs (not just the ones you own) in the outfit tab of Collections.

I have 2 words for you.."Self Control". I'm only able to do between 18-24 dailies during the week because of my RL responsibilities. Does this bother me? No. I don't need all the "SHINY" things right now. I'm quite happy waiting until worm cult motif prices go down in a few months and buy them then. If I don't finish all the achievements for a holiday event, oh well. I'll pickup where I left off next year.

I stick to a schedule and allow myself a set time to play. If I can't login for a day oh well. If the servers are down when I'm able to play, I just find something else to do. ESO does not, and will never "control" me.

OP, like others have said here, this is an issue that is absolutely the responsibility of each and every individual player. ZoS is not at all responsible for when and how long people stay logged in. Personally speaking, during the week I put in about 50 hours at my profession (sometimes 60'ish) and I have to limit how much time I play the game.

Being a PvP'er it's why I'll never get the Emperor achievement on any character in Vivec. It requires a nearly impossible amount of time on the server to even get close, and truthfully I have to wonder about those players. Do they work or sleep at all? Maybe they use a weeks vacation and sit on a porta potty with 8 cases of Redbull right next to'em the whole time? No idea, but I know I can't do it. I can't even imagine it. LOL

To me it would be a type of insanity to ignore my bread and butter job (which I actually enjoy a great deal) just to grind for loot boxes or the next CP level, etc. Yeah, ZoS can't be responsible for how long we stay in game.

Edited to mention that I'm not slapping you. ha ha

I've gone on multiple 12 hour bents doing anything from playing games to drawing. If you're really that worried about neglecting your health, bring yourself some healthy snacks and water to your desk.

Set some godawful loud alarm when you plan to take a break to stand up for a bit or nap or whatever.

Realize you have 24 hours in a day, don't think you have to do everything at once. The game will still be there when you get back.

Seriously set that alarm, the more obnoxious the better. If you can ignore it through your headset then it's not loud enough.

Take power naps. 30min at a time, multiple times a day actually does do you some good for staying rested.

Out of curiosity I tried doing Writs all all my characters instead of questing in Cyrodiil. To get through all 15 alts ended up taking 5 hours. It wasn't just writs but starting horse training and research on each one.

Still 5 hours of writs wasn't exactly fun or stimulating but I did get some Worm Cult drops after none in the previous days.

XP earned doing writs was also pretty negligible.

Well I've done horse training on all my chars when I created them, and only do on the newest one currently. Also I don't bother doing research on characters that just do writs and nothing else since those barely have enough skill points (~70) to cover those crafting lines main passives, and enough combat skills to fill 2 bars, with no passives. And they'll need 5 more each pretty soon to spec into jewelry crafting. On the other hand the main ones have enough points to fully spec crafting, including the research passives, so I've fed them quite a few traited items and they are at 8-9 traits on everything and expected to finish research in early June. The general skill point reset will come in handy since it will allow me to split research on jewelry traits and then craft and cross research them faster than I would have been able otherwise. Magicka characters have much more skill points available and those will be able to pick up and speck into Psijic skill line readily.

The crafting process itself is highly optimized, with all materials being the top tier, including provisioning and alchemy which are pre-crafted, deposited in bank and picked up according to the writ. I have a few addons that greatly simplify the process: Daugubon's Lazy Writ Crafter, Trait Buddy, ESO Master Recipe list and Writ Worthy (for master writs). I have timed the whole crafting process in other to do improvements, including the movement pattern for characters, in order to shorten it, and it comes down to 5 minutes per character on average, including reviewing research, learning surplus recipes & patterns, depositing various items in bank and selling the ornate ones to NPC. The only part I haven't managed to improve significantly is the loading sequence, which takes ~2 minutes per character even with the game installed on SSD. I may move to full SSD OS support in the near future, and change Windows 7 for Windows 10 as general performance improvement but I'm not sure if that will cut the loading time in game. So all in all it boils down to about 50 minutes per 10 characters, so I decided to push it further and expand to 12 - gear crafting still needs training but consumables is maxed out - and possibly 14 as the event will last for 6 more days and I have 2 characters still at level 25 that can hit 50 by the end. Realistically I can turn in 14-15 within an hour with everything further optimized.

I play ESO about 3 hours per day.

Since I'm retired, I could easily push this up to 8+ hours per day, but those days are behind me. And that only happened with WoW, where I worked the standard 40-hour week, and easily spent 45-60 hours (or more) playing WoW in the same week, year after year. I would easily play WoW 18-20 hours per day on weekends and days off. You could say I was obsessed with WoW, and I couldn't get out of it for a long time.

However, about 3 years ago, I changed the way I was playing. I finally got to a point where I could see a light at the end of the WoW tunnel, and I finally stopped playing that game last year for good (after 14 years).

I also got tired of playing one game too much, and I changed that by getting several games and spread myself out. That made the games I was playing more enjoyable (whereas WoW seemed to turn into a job).

So, now it's ESO (and Skyrim), Path of Exile, and I'm looking at two new games that are very interesting (Wolcen and Werewolf: The Apocolypse).

There are also a lot of things in ESO I don't do (writs, dailies, etc.). Just going around questing and leveling up. It's amazing how many quests are left undone if you just do the guild and main quests

But, it's easily understandable how you could get sucked into a game to the point where your life is structured around the game, instead of the other way around.
