Lore Friendly Glass/Malachite Roofs Retexture for Summerset Architecture

There is no chance that 3D models of the building will be redone, but ZOS can change some textures. For example they can make roof tiles made of glass, that used in armor.
It can be only on major buildings:

wXKm4Yb.jpg
Or at all buildings:
FdtcFCl.jpg
5MPbuC2.jpg
I think it's pretty easy to do, and it will add uniqueness to the Summerset towns and will fit lore: "made from glass or insect wings" and "a hypnotic swirl of ramparts and impossibly high towers, designed to catch the light of the sun and break it to its component colors, which lies draped across its stones until you are thankful for nightfall".

Photo cred to @XomRhoK

Please zos, it would add a lot more character to the altmeri architecture and would be a lot better looking than what we have now. Malachite glass or regular looking glass would add a lot more to the altmeri architecture

Lore: Malachite, commonly known as glass, is a rare, volcanic, milky translucent green crystal, used in creating strong but lightweight metallic Altmer armor and weapons.
http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Crafting_Motifs_16:_Glass And that link for glass.
If we are to take the term glass serious adding malachite roofs would be atleast canonically more pleasing than what we have now

To be fair, that thread was using fan art of Port Telvannis to justify that the style was inconsistent with TES3. You may notice that Port Telvannis is not on Vvardenfell, and also that it was fan art, with all the canonical relevance of C0DA.

To be fair, it was good fan art, but it was still, not official art, depicting a city we haven't seen in the games since 1993, and Arena's cities looked... different from how we see Morrowind now.

Gotta be careful with shiny textures. Too much shiny can do the exact opposite if not done right. Like when you dye an entire outfit Vehk Blue or Maelstrom Mauve...

Neutrals are safe aesthetically and require less data(especially to function properly).

Some small tweaks wouldn't hurt though.

It shouldnt look like christmas trees that is right, but it could currently definately need more colors and shine from what we have seen. Altmer got there some really shiny cities if you believe the lore and currently it doesnt look like that so much.

Happy to see this is catching on. Although I'm not too fond of the particular shade of green, it's much better than what we have now.

I also made a rainbow-colored version of Alinor. Although that was mostly done in jest, maybe it will inspire someone to something similar.

With classic XBox resolution textures? I mean, that was the problem here. They didn't look like what you remembered. Which is fine. But, unless we're specifically talking about the stone foundations thing, or the part where you needed levitation to navigate them, the actual towers weren't that much of a departure.

Yes, I prefer them with greenish roofs, at least it makes the buildings look less human...or rather distinguishes them better from human architecture in-game.

Honestly the roofs of the buildings already look dark green to me in the videos and Glass can be that shade of green so to me they are already made of glass.

Well that's fine that you see black, with my PC I see Dark Green. The pictures are less clear than the Gameplay Trailer, easier to see the colors of the roofs on that. Probably depends on how the light hits it, like most colors. Plus with the Dye system you could easily claim that the designers/elves decided to color the roofs Black but are still made of glass (aka Malachite)

I agree with your point, but I would also like to point out that C0DA is now canon courtesy of ESO

And on topic, hell yes to glass roofs. It doesn't solve the issue completely, but it's a fantastic compromise of lore and engine restrictions.
