Do you want crown crates gone?

No. If people want to waste their money that's up to them.

The aggressive marketing is super annoying though.

It does not mean that if I don't like something, I would want it to be removed. There are people enjoying it. So, if ZoS keeps the crates out of P2W concept, I'm OK with it.

No. Crown Crates are a "Stupid Tax" that fleeces idiots out of their hard earned money in order to prolong the longevity of the game I love to play.

Also, since I used to buy way too much stuff directly from the store the crates help me save money. Nowadays, most of the items I want are in the crates, which I refuse to buy. So my crown store spending is greatly reduced.

Just put all the stuff directly to the Crown store, and get rid of this gambling thing. I don't think, that it'll be done, though, for quite obvious reasons, but at least try not to make it worse, devs.

    You're welcome! :)

And, please, I'm a Whale. A Nancy Whale according to some.

Seriously, I enjoy a go at the crates occasionally, but I do prefer direct purchases.

I don't care for rare crate drops and if ZOS can make money this way, it affects me only in a good way like they can afford to put discounts on stuff I care about.

Actually, it effects you in a negative way because they release lower quality content and do less bug fixing because they realize they can make money through this kind of crap instead of releasing a quality stable product.

Good luck proving the causative link, even assuming that your description of the quality of the content and rate of bug fixing is accurate, which is in itself debatable.

I prefer to buy what i want. I dont need junk.

I dont mind buying *JUST COSMETICS* if the price is right. However i prefer a team to work on content, than on micro.
And having some things avaible in game via in-game gold or achivments.

As far as I'm concerned, Crown Crates are a perfect way to keep the game healthy. They seem to work well for ZOS as we haven't seen any p2w or much p4convenience in the game so far, which is... trust me, it's huge!

You can't point to a game with a better business model. You just can't.

Don't go full entitlement, because you will destroy this game.

Eh. I've gotten some stuff out of the free ones. I've not gotten anything interesting out of other free ones.

I've not bothered to buy any, and I'm not missing anything that's been in them. They don't really bother me, so...

Interesting how OP thinks that people spending 5000 Crown for a mount is better for ZOS than people spending HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS for a chance at one. NO OP, ZOS is not going to go back to a system to lose money, just because you don't like it and cannot get what you want, doesn't mean ZOS doesn't like the huge amount of cash that rolls their way from these crates.

No. I have never even purchased them and I don’t want them gone. If other people want to pay more for the same game than I pay then i am ok with that. Also kind of the model that allows this game to be buy to play which adds to the population.

I think people need to just get over no always getting what they want

Well, lets look. Orsinium was released, quality content with not SO many glitches, performance was better , there were no crown crates and there was less focus on the crown store. Lets fast forward. Vardenfell was released, performance has been dropping since after Orsinium release, which shortly after orsinium is when crown crates were released and more focus put on the store, an OBSURD amount of glitches, and its a new dev team. Its pretty obvious to anyone who has been playing since start and has played other mmos that went down this route.

Again, good luck proving the causative link. Your post is a combination of subjective opinion and speculation. My experience has been different to yours, I've noticed no reduction in performance or quality. Incidentally, I do not buy crown crates so am not approaching the subject from that particular bias unlike many whose opinion about the game post-crates is heavily influenced by their inherent dislike of them! As for other MMOs, I've played plenty of crap MMOs without lockboxes, and some decent ones with lockboxes, again the problem is proving a causative link where the influence of lockboxes on the rest of the game is concerned.

How about the option to trade? I also like your items for game gold idea.

To prove a point I just dropped 100 dollars into the game not 10 minutes ago. No radiant mounts. That’s 2 crown seasons over a 100 bucks each and no radiants. The loot table is too broken if you can spend that much and not get even a single radiant. Now yes it was my choice and I’m blessed to have the income to spend that much per season but it’s a bit extreme that you can spend that much for 2 seasons and not even get 1

Never spent money on one, never will, but I see a lot of players do. Someone's gotta pay to keep the servers up, and so long as it isn't me, why stop others from doing it?

I notice a lot of people in this game complain about the price of COSMETIC items. Its ridiculous. Radiant Apex is there for a reason and that reason is to sell crown crates. It is why they are exclusive to crown crates. I see a lot of " I cant afford it but want it, therefore you should give it to me" and " I spent way more money than i can actually afford trying to get animated pixels and now i have severe buyer's remorse" in these threads.

They arent going to stop selling crown crates because chance crates are HUGE money makers in games. And their is a snowballs chance in hell that they will make radiant apex a gem item as its a major selling point of the crates and likely boosts sales significantly.

You are more likely to get all bugs fixed, flying mounts, Auction houses, open world pvp, trial group finder, spellcrafting, jewelry crafting, and buffs to every class you play all in the same 100% free DLC before they take away such a good revenue stream as crown crates and radiant apex mounts.

I have the financial security to use the service, but the mental acuity to indulge in only a few at any given time because they're digital items I'll never actually own.

So I can't get worked up over using them. Nor can I get worked up over not using them. They're there, another thing to use crowns on. You can avoid the entire crown store if you use ESO+ to get DLC so after a while the complaining and bitterness about the crown store seems less and less about the actual crown store and more about the people doing the complaining...

No, I enjoy crown crates when they are free rewards or purchased in moderation. As a new player with very few collectibles, I am still easily entertained by many of the blue and purple items in the crates. I would not purchase crown crates if the only items I wanted were the low probability apex level rewards. I agree with others that it would be nice to have more items available for direct purchase in the crown store.

I personally only use the ones I get for free, so I am happy with the free gifts I get.

If people want to spend their hard earned money to buy more of these crates, all the power to them.

They are optional, you don't need to buy them to enjoy the game, so if you don't like them, don't buy them.

In my guild chat there are several people who spent 2x 3x that and got none. And then there is one person who said they spent $50 and got all 3 radiant mounts. Most people bought $75-150 worth of crown crates and anecdotally it sounds like most of them got max 1 frost mount even.

Its literal, actual gambling which is fine but where I struggle is they do not publish the odds. I mean if you come to find out the radiant apex rewards are .0000000001% are you still gonna spend a few hundred on the crates?

Its a business and I get it, but it would be great to see the pretense that actual content is more important than quasi-mobile gambling.
