I'm so tired of queuing into incomplete vet Direfrost Keeps

Without fail, whenever Direfrost Keep is the daily pledge, I am forced to endure the frustration of helping different groups get past Drodda AT LEAST 4-5 times before I actually get to complete the entire dungeon. :'( It's getting to the point now where I'm seriously thinking of refusing to use the group finder on my damage dealer when it's the daily pledge (I already refuse to use it when I'm on my tank or healer, because it's no fun trying to drag DDers who top out at 10k DPS if you're lucky through that dungeon).

Please, ZOS, I'm begging you: either give us the option to NOT queue into partially completed pledge dungeons, or give us pledge credit for helping groups complete dungeons when they're stuck on the last boss. Why should I be penalized over and over again for other players' non-existent DPS? I don't mind helping people get past bosses quickly when they're stuck, and it's nice to receive praise from appreciative tanks/healers while the other "damage dealer" sits in a corner spamming light attacks or whatever TF they're doing, but it gets old after a while when you enter the dungeon and see that portal over and over again...

Disclaimer 1: Before anyone gets snarky, YES, I ask in guild chat first. NO, not everyone is looking to run dailies when I'm looking to run dailies.

Disclaimer 2: Yes, I know people have complained about this before. I'm just pointing out that it remains a very, very irritating group finder issue.

A check box indicating you do not want to go to a partially completed dungeon (at least one boss dead) would be nice.

    I'm slightly confused.

Can't you just join the group, kill the final boss

Go into dire frost normal and solo the rest of the requirements?

I mean, direfrost is solo-able if you can still snipe through the gate.

Shouldnt be too much of an issue

Why bother queuing for vet after beating the final boss, I assume on hard mode? Just do a quick normal run to finish off the pledge. I know that one isn't easily soloable because of the pressure plates but it would be easier to find one other person to quickly run it with you than getting a whole vet team together

Most players don’t want to run the dungeon more than once to complete the pledge, @Waffennacht, even if you can solo it on normal. Players can be queued into various phases of an incomplete dungeon ... which is not always at the final boss.

Last I checked, Direfrost had a double pressure plate system which precluded soloing it.

Also, I'm not 100%, but wouldn't that also mark you down as completing the dungeon on normal for the purpose of the pledge?

To be fair, the problem with DIrefrost Keep isn't (usually) DPS. Even if they're only pulling 6-8k, it's that ****ing regeneration beam that whatsername uses in the final encounter. Get a DerPS who doesn't understand how to break free, and the fight can turn into a complete slog... at which point the tank drops, and you get roped in to finish it, because you were in the queue.

This. Also, Direfrost requires at least one other player for the pressure pads, so I can't just solo the normal. Queueing for specific dungeons as a DD on vet takes long enough as it is; queuing for specific dungeons as a DD on normal? Hoo boy. As a further point, I also frequently get yelled at in normals for barging on ahead of the completely unnecessary tank, and I'd really rather avoid all that drama, so...

Really, the simplest solution is to give pledge credit for completing the final boss in a pledge, like it is for random normals/vets.

You'd think so but no, once you've completed the last boss it marks the hard mode as done and it doesn't matter what difficulty you do the rest on, only that you kill the other named bosses. I regularly do this when I'm put in at a last boss and always get two keys.

Last time I checked you pull the mob to the gate and use wtf is it called? Um... That Magnum Shot move that pushes you back. And it puts you through the gate by-passing the pressure plate mechanics

It's been a while since I've checked if it's still possible however.

I feel like having some sort of sorting system, with some dungeons being more lax about their roles, might make it easier to shuffle DPS players through at a faster rate, and cutting down on the queue. I'm talking about things like normal FG1, or DC2, where the tank is either unneeded for most players, or basically vestigial anyway.

That's funny, and only because I can strongly relate.
And the thing is, she's not that hard. I've even tried to explain before the fight...
When she lifts you up, break free or she heals. A LOT!
Dodge or block her ice ball thingy.
Stay out of the red circle.
    We win!!

BUT it never fails...there's always one or two that just refuse to break free...and with a sinking feeling deep down in my gut, I watch her health climb back up.

I don't know what it is about Direfrost.

Make a queue option for "Doing daily Pledge" This will only add you to a group that has yet to start the dungeon, if someone left that group and a replacement was being searched, it would only pull from those who are queued for random or specifically that dungeon.

I don't know what it is about Direfrost.

Exactly. The problem I find when I'm pugging Direfrost is that even when people DO follow mechanics, they react way too slowly. It's not so much of an issue when I'm on my sorc -- 30k DPS is more than enough to offset one or two people's poor reaction times. When you're on a support class, though, and both your DPS pull 15k combined? Those slow reactions to Drodda's self-heal mechanic mean you're just kicking DPS until someone competent comes along. That's why I don't pug Direfrost on my healer or tank anymore.

The pledges for the new dungeons appear to be this way - they don't list bosses, they just say to complete it. Not sure if it actually works that way tho because I haven't done just the last boss in either. Let's hope it signals a change for them all!

I feel you, I have similar issues, though I have patience.
I spent 2 times in 1 day on WGT for both the teams to get to kena (they surprisingly got past the planar) just for them to forget everything I am explaining to them, die and cannot complete it.
I spent 1 hour 45 mins in there 1 time.
I had to decide I won't pug pledges any more, if I do I do them on normal.

Yeah, this boss is a nightmare with bad players. An even simpler solution would be to add a "free ally" synergy so you can force people out of the beam if they won't break free.

Remember first time I did it, none in group knew about the health regen from beam :)
However breaking free was an issue with an healer who was low on stamina because of blocking, stamina potions solved it :)

You can also just open the gate from the exit door, just before the room with the pressure plates. Open the gate by pulling the lever on the other side of the gate, make your way past a couple of trolls and then kill the miniboss through the second door.

You can then use the portal at the beginning of the dungeon to port to the boss room to flip the switch and open the last part of the dungeon.
