This obviously won't go live so don't freak out. I was going to just use /bug on the PTS, but with the 3.3.2 Grim Focus changes I had to share. Buff Nightblade BB.

    I'm confused, even if the heavy does count as two charged, the OP did two heavy attacks then a merciless. According to this theory it he should need one more stack as merciless got nerfed (buffed?) to require 5 attacks for a proc.

    This looks like a scary bug, please don't nerf my beloved magblade

    It it also works with lightning heavies, i noticed getting more merc procs when using lightning heavies in aoe fights.

    Now that's scarier than a dk spamming 5 power lashes on me in a row! This might be the pretext to a huge nerf to magblades >_<

    It's counting as 4. There's a counter next to the character

    Inferno Staff on live procs for 2 hit on every heavy attack. Wonder if this is now universal.

    I agree. This bug should be fixed. 1 light attack, or 1 fully charged heavy per counter as it was before....

    Exactly, I can only imagine what other nerfs they can think of when the nerfs to DKs have been a reality on magblade for years... cooldown + dodgable, like what else is there...

    I was so excited to see some high-end NBs get the ''4 procs every second rotation'' thing but well ... rip . I guess we gotta wait another week :/

    Wait what? Heavy attacks count as 3-4 light attacks? Did i see that correctly? On live i know fully charged fire staff attacks count as 2 light attacks which i thought makes sense.

    I just hope zos does not break mag nb. I do not want to go back to a heavy attack spamming class :s

    To some degree, i would welcome this change. I mean a buff to how many counters you get per heavy attack. I think 4 is a bit much, but 2 is fine.

    Then again, i don't heavy attack on my magblade. I don't really care either way. lol

    This. Heavy attacks from fire destro and dw should count as two, it's only logical as you hit with two weapons or two fireballs ergo two charges. Lighting ticks should arguably also give one charge per tick but idk about pve balance on that.

    All the other ones gotta bounce though.

    Ranged heavy attack give 2 charges on full heavy even on live, but they did upped and changed something on PTS.
    While on live only fully charged bow heavy attack counts as 2 charges, on PTS any medium bow attack is 2 charges and fully heavy is 3

    A fully charged heavy always counted as 2 and from what I see you're doing 2 heavy attacks and a light? Thats 5 ain't it? What's bugged about it?

    The AOE blast at the end could decide how many ticks it is. Get rewarded for hitting 10 enemies but otherwise it's only 1 if you hit one target.

    So after some intense theorycrafting, and with the tiny detail that I don’t have access to PTS, I have discovered the ultimate Mag NB rotation. Careful though because the skill cap is very high:
    • Flame Destro Heavy Attack -> Flame Destro Heavy Attack -> Bow proc -> repeat

    For reference, on Live, a fully-charged fire heavy gives two stacks. Some patches ago, fully-charged lightning heavies also gave multiple stacks (I think it was two, but don't recall), but that was fixed, and lightning heavies only grant one stack on Live right now. Though, inexplicably, fire heavies were not affected by that fix.

    Again, that's how things are on Live right now, for purposes of reference. Haven't had a chance to try out fire and lightning heavies on the PTS yet.
