Some super, super helpful responses to a thread I made asking for build help has changed my play style for the better and I'm immensely grateful for that. I learned that there are some awesome folks who will go out of their way to write long and detailed guides for newbies and it was incredibly encouraging.

All the PvP threads I read have solidified my hatred of PvP and my conviction that there may be a scant handful of nice PvPers but the majority are awful people I don't ever want to play with, and that PvP is most definitely too toxic and full of e-peen for me to ever want to delve into it until I am absolutely forced. And from reading the forums I know this will be hell on earth and I will not enjoy it.

    So...mixed bag.

yes...zo$ listening to the qqing kids that spend 1 hour per week playing the game to get inspiration on what to complain about and spend the rest of the time on forums where zeni listens while the actual players play the game and don't bother themselves and get punished for doing it so... cuz u know... that's what we care about...the casuals that spend 1 hour per week if not less instead of the dedicated player base (that was amputated by 70%).

I found an fun guild on the forums. That was nice.

I met a couple of people from the forums in the game and now we're fellow players (I won't say friends because I haven't been on in months until last night).

Does this count? Otherwise I generally ignore the complaining and all that.

a grand overload (that does more than repair walls)

I'm wondering, realistically, how many decades it would take to get Grand Overlord just through wall repair, since that's probably the only way I'd reach that rank xD

Sometimes in Alik'r I see a forum-famous Khajiit vampire assassin standing around (thinking deep thoughts?) and I run a couple of circles around him before I go on my way, a little happier.

Other than that? I dunno. I've learned a lot of stuff from reading here and following links, so it's probably changed all of my gameplay. Even straight-up forum drama is kind of educational.

Now I'm jelly that no one runs circles around me in game. Guess I'm not famous enough. :disappointed:

I'll be sure to be visibly weird if I ever run into you. :) I have weirdness all queued up for if I ever see runagate, maybe that. :D

I think its a lot of fun meeting people from the forums in the game. Had a "wow that is really cool" moment when someone came up to me and whispered that they were a huge fan  People have also reacted in similar ways when I agree with them on here, its a lot of fun since I really just do some theorycrafting every now and then. Added quite a few people from the forums to my friends list.

Other than that the Forums don't really effect how I play, it just adds to the social aspect which I like a lot.

That rarely happens to me, except sometimes I see someone who is a regular in Cyrodiil who posts on the forums, but usually just as they run by or talk in /zone about something being under siege.

When I see names I recognize from the forums I try to say hello if possible. When, if @geonsocal mentioned, they are on another team and surrounded by allies I'll try to do the honor emote on them if my team wins. Other times, I'll mention to my wife, "Hey, it's so-and-so from the forums" and she'll pretend she's interested and mumble "That's nice".
