Not bad incentive to level alts an alt perhaps, got to say eso catch up is a lot more forgiving than some games.

Starting a new game like bdo you can forget catching up to top tier. They have so many quits early that they reward returning players quite well, each day for 30 days, including a mid tier mount and VPacks (7 to 30 day sub essentially )

Riding lessons in all this would also be great, as a suggestion.

In the live stream, they mentioned that the character limit is increased to 15 for everyone so that everyone gets a shot at testing the leveling system. The leveling rewards are also only obtainable once IIRC (on your first character in the case of new accounts).

So in the news section ZoS talks about this update and dropped this lil nugget: "With the Level Up Advisor, every time one of your characters gains a level, you will receive gameplay tips and useful rewards. These rewards will include gold, crafting materials, and consumables, and certain key leveling milestones will even reward you with a new mount or a Crown Crate!"

So my question is, what about us who already have have a fully leveled toon or 2 or 3 or 12 fully leveled toons? Do we just miss out on the gold, mounts, crown crates, and other rewards?
How exactly does this work, will a new player be able to collect all the rewards on his first character, and every preceeding character while us veterens just get screwed for having already leveled 1,2,5,12 characters?

I would really hope that whatever rewards are retro-activley rewarded to already fully leveled toons when this update comes out.

Dripping with entitlement. I have 14 slots filled and maxed and dont need more stuff handed to me let alone demanding i be retrospectively awarded crap for every level i have attained on all my characters because of a new feature.

Can people not be happy with what they have. If you are a vet... all the crap you have earned already will be better than the *** new players are going to be awarded with each level.

There will always be new *** in game. You are not going to be constantly given this new *** cause you have been here for years.

Feel free to purchase a slot, and rank and delete characters to your hearts content and your mail box is brimming with the fotm 'collectables' that you will forget you have in a week or two.

    Looks like it's well done.

There's some basic builds so we will see less drama on pugs and new players being scum in many different words. What is nice there's a build for dps stamina or Magicka, tank, and healer. So a step forward away from dragon knight only tank world, and Templar only healer mindset for incoming populace.

Though what's the point then showing class icons in guild roster instead of role now? Maybe it's time to fix it. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

It's just a nice little "good job" reward, but keep in mind those (and other collectible-type things) are per account, not per character. The mount included in the Level Up Advisor is just your basic brown horse.

I'm actually a little disappointed that they're just going to give new players a horse. One of the first big accomplishments in the game is saving enough to buy your first mount. Now it's just a participation trophy. Meh.

A player can install the game and buy a mount immediately from the crown store without earning the gold in game.
Players can by packs that give mounts (ie imperial pack)

10K seems like nothing to those of us that have played for a while but it is an undaunting amount to a new player on a new account getting 20-40 gold per quest. Plenty of other accomplishments to be had in the game. I dont have a problem with them giving the basic mount to a new player/character.

4 years ago when I started I made my 1st 100k gold in 2 days of early access...Khajiit powa! :3

We either way development is going towards diversity. There's going be more issues in incoming year because of it. Now we will have new poplace of tanks and healers that are not just dragon knight or Templar. So yes icons seem outdated.

Really though I would simply like easier way to find tanks :p . The woes I go through...with 5 highly populated guilds I shouldn't have to worry.

You can find em because they are very few that exist, well at least on pc na that is. Everyone wants to dps no one wants to heal or tank. Another thing diversity exists it's just that some very smart number crunchers have calculated the small or large differences if these things don't matter to you or other ppl or the ppl they run with then there's no issue. But the way game is designed promotes specific classes to being more optimal at certain roles. The developers themselves have stated this as a thing they consciously do, but keep the difference minimal.

companies always f* over loyal clients and rather reward new clients

attracting new clients is absolutly fine and should be done - but in the new games as a service world, rewarding existing loyal clients (that pay the most and probably bring the most new players to the game) should be equally important

We see that you have just earned your 742 CP. You have exceeded the maximum level established, we have noticed that your build while semi-functional is well utter crap the level advisor recommends you delete this toon and start over you noob.

Even if they do get tailored for leveling, if you can trade the items for gems, it can cause problems.

Even if it is one or two crates, what does it matter? It's not like they're _preventing_ existing players from creating a new toon if you really want a new crate (and unlike the new player, a vet could actually wait until a suitable crown crate season they want a free crate for). Similarly, not like this is going to make up for the multiple weekends of free crates we've received to date.

Honestly Im not even sure why people are upset about this. We havent seen the rewards, its not as if we cant access the rewards through alternate character level ups, and the idea behind why they are doing this isnt malicious towards long standing players. As if ZOS set out to spoil newcomers over older players.

I see posts on these forums constantly talking about how xbox and ps4 achievements reflects that very few players have hit very early on gameplay milestones. And its quite obvious for anyone that has stopped to ask themselves why would ZOS set such a thing up for lowbies. Is that this would incentivize those types of players that might struggle to stick with the game, and stick with the process of getting to max level to actually do so. It also gives lowbies advice on how to better approach content so all the nashing of teeth that takes place here on the forums about players not learning the mechanics is being addressed.

This whole system is not a big F You to the long standing players. Its a new way to try and convince the short-term player to stick with the game. Play it longer and more often. Not everyone is going to be motivated by the same things, obviously prior to this system those who have made it to level 50 and beyond have found something to motivate them. So is it really a terrible thing that newcomers will have something different that might motivate them? Something that you are more than welcome to access through leveling a new character (Ive seen this sort of thing done in Star Trek Online and it was extremely successful in motivating players to create alts and level them up fully).
