General Help is the forum for account issues, that topic was about an account issue.
Actually, they could simply have locked or deleted it as it discussed another player's individual account, so perhaps moving it wasn't so harsh.
There are plenty of negative threads about e.g. performance and PvP that are left in the General Discussion forum rather than being moved to the correct forum. People just regard the General Discussion forum as the place to post regardless, purely because they think their topic is so important that it must be seen by as many players as possible, even more so when the title is in caps. Personally I'd rather more were moved but there are far too many for the mods to cope with. There's certainly no evidence that they only move the negative ones.
Pfft. Take off your tinfoil hat.
- By moving threads to the correct subforum, maybe they are trying to get us to use the right subforum. And perhaps then these subforums won't be so "dead"?
- I browse the forum using the Recent view, which aggregates from all the subforums. Not by looking in General Discussions. Many people--particularly long-time forum goers--already do this.
- One of my recent threads--about what kinds of furnishings people got during the event--was moved out of General. The thread and its replies had absolutely nothing negative or critical of ZOS. Most of the moves that I've seen are of threads that are not negative/critical. But you often don't notice those threads to begin with, I suspect.

How does this have anything to do with general help? Not even a reply from you guys in moving the post.
First, many use the Recent tab to look at what threads are, well, recent.
You strongly suggested it with your thread's accusatory and inflammatory title.Geroken777 wrote: »3. I haven't said that ALL moved posts are negative.
It's our fault as users to be completely ignoring all the other categories in the first place. Community Creations is where you go to show off your fan art or screenshots etc, yet I keep seeing SO MANY "Show Us Your..." threads popping up in General Discussion, like people don't know how to move their eyes a little more down the page to see the other categories.
Why is it so hard for people to check the other catogories?
