We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European console megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

ZOS, stop shutting down posts by moving them into dead categories.

How does this have anything to do with general help? Not even a reply from you guys in moving the post.

While it's supposedly "helpful" to have categories for posts the truth is most people just look at General and ZOS knows this. That's all I'm gonna say.

General Help is the forum for account issues, that topic was about an account issue.

Actually, they could simply have locked or deleted it as it discussed another player's individual account, so perhaps moving it wasn't so harsh.

That post is mainly critisising ZOS's choices instead of focusing on actual recovery of the account, whilst many other posts like these:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/385964/crowns-are-on-sale-ps4#latest - needs to be crown store category. It probably is not there so it gets noticed by all players.

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/382944/a-compromise-in-the-crate-gambling-debate/p1 - this is a thread about gambling in ESO, which in relative does relate to crown store with crown crates. However, it is mainly suggesting about how the game is becoming a casino instead of focusing on actual crown store. This has a place in general discussion as well.

Including, we need to have all of the New Life Festival events into Events & Contests category as well if we are continuing with the current logic of ZOS's thread moving. They seem to ignore the threads that are generally are positive about the game despite it being in the wrong category, while moving threads with negative opinions which justify into dead categories. Talk about cherry picking.

Haven't you noticed that the reason a mod has not replied in to the post is because it would still technically be in general discussion for a period of time?

There are plenty of negative threads about e.g. performance and PvP that are left in the General Discussion forum rather than being moved to the correct forum. People just regard the General Discussion forum as the place to post regardless, purely because they think their topic is so important that it must be seen by as many players as possible, even more so when the title is in caps. Personally I'd rather more were moved but there are far too many for the mods to cope with. There's certainly no evidence that they only move the negative ones.

Certainly there is no evidence, however the experience from some players have been like this. I am not trying to show that ALL moved threads are negative, because of course they are not, but most of critical threads which impose of destroying ZOS's reputation tend to be suppressed in a very quick and silent action. Yet again if you ask for evidence, I have none since i can not gather data of ZOS's practices other than abusing human psychology by adding radiant mounts. Sadly most gaming companies are doing this now, however they have a direct market where you can purchase the rare item straight away.

Pfft. Take off your tinfoil hat.
    1. By moving threads to the correct subforum, maybe they are trying to get us to use the right subforum. And perhaps then these subforums won't be so "dead"?
    2. I browse the forum using the Recent view, which aggregates from all the subforums. Not by looking in General Discussions. Many people--particularly long-time forum goers--already do this.
    3. One of my recent threads--about what kinds of furnishings people got during the event--was moved out of General. The thread and its replies had absolutely nothing negative or critical of ZOS. Most of the moves that I've seen are of threads that are not negative/critical. But you often don't notice those threads to begin with, I suspect.

    1. If they were to try regain activity in these subforms, there are much more effective ways.

ZOS's forum moderation falls somewhere between their RNG and their gameplay balance in terms of quality.

This is also a forum where calling people out on their cruelty to others can get your post edited and you a warning. This probably has as much to do with the fact that bullies are cowards and are crazy-quick to report when they feel they've been attacked, but the fact pointing out cruelty (which is pretty much an obligation of any ethical human being) is more heavily punished here than cruelty itself. That's not okay.

First, many use the Recent tab to look at what threads are, well, recent. It is also poor forum management to have all threads in one section of the forums as many get lost fast.

Not everything can go into General Discussion. The funniest is when people make a thread about Crown Store stuff, and then ZOS moves it to the Crown Store section, and the person who posted it has the nerve to complain.

It's our fault as users to be completely ignoring all the other categories in the first place. Community Creations is where you go to show off your fan art or screenshots etc, yet I keep seeing SO MANY "Show Us Your..." threads popping up in General Discussion, like people don't know how to move their eyes a little more down the page to see the other categories.

    Agreed.

Incidentally, people refer erroneously to things being moved to a "sub-forum", or to people not reading "sub-forums". There's no such thing as a sub-forum, all the forums have the same degree of prominence under the various category titles on the forum list. All it takes is for people to see which forum best relates to their topic, rather than dumping everything in General Discussion because they think that way more people will read their important contribution.

Problem is the very definition of general covers everything.
Further I could move almost every thread in the general forum to one that matches the topic more.
