Roll a tank yourself (not you, OP, just in general). The only way to fix fake tanks and lack of tanks in group finder is for you to be a tank yourself.

The problem is this : in stark contradiction to the eminently flexible single player games, ESO punishes you for deciding to change your playstyle.

To make a proper tank you need to change not only your gear but also your stats, morphs and champion points. All but the first cost gold and take time.

If the game allowed you to freely change these things and better yet, also save configurations as builds, a lot more players would be available as proper tanks.

Still the most unknown mechanics at present day and therefore this boss is the no death preventer number 1 for this dungeon :-)

On the other side...if you go all out and the grousp can down him before he does the first blue shackle on someone, you actually know that the group is good. The needed dps is a group effort though. With two 30k+ DDs, loaded damage ultimates and some warhorn support you should be on the safe side. If one DD is a total fail and/or without warhorn support you might be too late.

I just post that here, so that some interested people might realize what is possible in that game. As someone already said above, this game is dps-centric. All encounters lose a lot of difficulty as more dps you do. DPS is a group effort, two DDs, positioning, buffing and debuffing by tank and healer. Besides the "fake tank issue" the much more dominant problem in ESO is the "fake DD issue". When I see 70%+ group dps amounts in Combat Metrix already in trash groups for me as the other DD (not even single target on bosses, where it is harder to get high scores) or I see 20%+ group dps for me playing a full support tank (5k dps max), it still suprizes me how someone can be such clueless and failing his role as DD...

...and no..CP play only a minor role. Over 200 CP "bad dps because of CPs" is just a lousy excuse. I met guys with 250-300 CPs in that game who gave me a hard time to get 55%+ group dps at 70k group dps for a generic single target boss where you don't have to pay attention for moving or other stuff that may decrease dps.

The way I see it, you queue as a tank when you’re not, expect to get kicked if you make the run longer or more painful then it needs to be. For normal content, it generally doesn’t matter. Vet dungeons are often another story.

Ultimately, the thing that bothers me about fake tanks the most (apart from the clear disregard for less experienced players in the group) is the fact that they think their time is more valuable than everyone else’s.

So... doing 50% dps and healing probably means you have aggro... what is fake about that?

Best group we found for random normals where at least one member was under level 50 was 4 DPS. Bosses die so fast that no one has a chance to die. The lowbies are scaled up to 30k hit points anyway so they're fine even if they manage to get aggro during the fight.

But, as I posted in another thread, a level 10 character with a sword, shield, and puncture slotted is MORE than capable of tanking any dungeon the random finder would place his group in. It's not that big of a deal.

But a level 50 CP160+ with 15k HP with no clue will get one shot.. will ping pong a boss.. and will cause the healer a lot of aggravation when they are grouped with good dps and a good healer. I can keep up with mediocre DPS and I outDPS a lot of random PUGs even though I am exclusively healer build(I tank most trash encounters with bad groups and I don't care to tank a boss - I prefer healing one person rather than 4 people). I only have 3 dps skills. Vampires Bane, blockade, and shards.. OK I also use dps ultimates since healer ultimates are silly in pve. This isn't skill on my part... this is a blatant level of crappy play by others.

Exactly. That's what I've been doing with my Stam Warden. Has been a great way for me to quickly level my undaunted skill line. Queues are almost always instant. If not instant, I rarely have to wait longer than 2 minutes.

The only difficulties i encounter is when I get those fresh eso players who have no idea what's going on. However, I don't mind carrying if they're willing to listen and genuinely give it their all.

Leveled undaunted to rank 8 and have only ran into two of these types of groups. Successfully carried both. One through vet CoA II and the other through vet Tempest Island HM. :)

Actually a gear swap is totally sufficient for 4-man-vet-stuff, even DLC vet stuff (not tanked Bloodforge though, but Falkreath I did). I do that with all my 4 magicka chars all the time. There are not even a handful of morphs where there might be a better option from a tank perspective, but honestly, you are fine with the second choice too. Often I don't even change my Mundus and keep the DD build one. I am able to do the same for a healer build, but for certain DLC dungeons I maybe put some points into "blessed".

fake normal tank that clean the *** up by focusing on DPS while the healer and the other DPS have to deal with the boss aggro :)

That's been my experience. The fake tank in a normal can usually handle him/herself but doesn't give a *** about whether or not the rest of the group can. When my healer is healing, buffing, DPSing, and holding boss aggro, someone's getting carried and its not my healer.
