Why did you first buy the game?

The game had just removed subscriptions so I though I can enjoy the game for 60$ lol stupid me back then.

Honestly, I wasn't that enthralled by the idea of a TES based MMO. I applied for beta anyway. Eventually got a beta invite. Spent most of the first weekend mentally picking holes in the game. Then was kind of sad on Monday when I couldn't play... until next weekend

It didn't win me over at first, but found myself looking forward to the next weekend of beta testing. And here I am still.

One of my friends was playing it and wanted me to try it, so that was it. I've never played any other Elder Scrolls games, this was not familiar to me.

Played the skyrim remastered version for the first time last year and was hooked. Watched some YT Videos and found this game, tried it over christmas when it was free but couldnt get really into it, tried it again in aprils free week this year and was hooked. Bought it and played almost everyday so far - by the way, its my first mmo, never thought i would play one.

I got hooked to TES through playing Morrowind so when I heard they were bringing out an MMO I waved goodbye to WoW and have been hooked from day one.
I very rarely play anything else now

I was introduced by a friend, I never really liked Elder scrolls, It was ok but it never blew me away. Skyrim I enjoyed but again was not something that blew my mind. The only reason I bought it was because my friend kept shouting about the pvp mode..

I'm still in Cyrodiil, never left. haha

I bought it because my very first Elder Scrolls game i played was Oblivion on xbox many moons ago (wow 2006), i realy loved that game at the time and sadly as i was drawing to the conclusion of the game my house was burgled and the xbox with the disc in it were stolen... never to be replaced as i was then having to up sticks and move to London and then on to Spain to work which took up a further 9 years of my time.

When i came back home after working away then I decided to buy myself another xbox as i had not been gaming for years and one of the first games i saw was ESO... I just had to have it.. No regrets... but oh how console gaming has changed during that time due to ever expanding games and highly monetised ingame vanity purchases..

Because after 10 bazillion hours in Skyrim, I think I’ve pretty much seen everything the game has to offer but wanted to spend more time in glorious Tamriel.

Love the lore, love the races, love the gameplay.

My only disappointment is how little classes matter. I’ve played stealthy assassin types since Ultima Online 20 years ago and don’t like that a Nord tank in heavy armor wielding a giant axe can sneak as well as a naked elf.

But I guess that’s one way to balance a skill: give it to everyone!

Boys played Destiny & had bought one of the dlcs but had immense problems getting the thing to work properly & there was a day when one was planning a gaming marathon but had nothing to play - so ESO was going cheap & was for console so got it.

But managed to fix Destiny in time & sons never played - it was me, curious after enjoying Skyrim. (Would prob have got on pc at start if had decent pc though). Sons now associate with me and so would rather die than play same game as their mother. And gives them something to be rude to me about!

So my sad addiction is thanks to Bungie incompetence.
