Cannot Report BOT TRAINS Because They Move Around

There are about five or more bot trains running tonight on PC-NA and I cannot report any of them because the game only allows for the option via targeting and they move constantly. I could not even get them when they paused to turn which makes me question if they accomplished coding to stop people from being able to report.

Try and get a screen shot of them where you can see their names. Send that screen shot to ZOS with as many of the names you can make out.

They were moving to fast to get the names of all of them I could only manage one bot train follow there were so many. We are not allowed to "name and blame" according to zos policy (which I agree with as it stops a lot of ridiculous situations) on forums. I do not know where I would get in trouble with this and do not wish to get an account ban for public blaming. Thus my pic here has no name visuals.

They are in Karthdar, Grahtwood at this time. I was going to shard hunt there but I'm staying clear of that zone now.

I've seen a bunch in Al'kir Desert on the beach killing mudcrabs. Then one started stalking me all the way to Sentinel.

With respect @AzraelKrieg, that's a lot of work for something that really should be handled by ZOS.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, stray thought: Why don't you guys have a couple GMs patrolling zones a couple times a week, looking for large concentrations of bots?

It is but it's a lot easier than reporting each individual bot in a train. Managed to get a sizeable train nuked doing that.

If ZOS really does care about stopping them (I have my doubts) there's an easy solution:
    1. Give us the option to report the spot.
    2. ESO GM goes to the reported spot and using their superior (I would hope) data gathering abilities confirm and ban

It's ZOS' reluctance to take an active hands-on approach instead of just relying on us to police their game for them that allows this to persist month after month.

You don't need to report every character in the Bot Train. Just get one of them and in the report include the approximate number of bots in the group and the general area you found them in. The Game Master will see what is going on when they go out to investigate.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I really have my doubts that these investigations are happening with any regularity or timeliness. I personally have reported bot trains in Auridon's Tower of the Vale location farming wolves at least 10 times and yet there they still are today just like yesterday and every day for the past year.

Every single time i report bot i write there name in chat and i say " If you want to clean your game of these stupid damn bots , report them also here are the name : abc , abcd , abcde ect...
And after that i make a screen and i keep this , so i have a screenshot from the 15 september ... and as you know they are still running at kardthar so ... I don't think they care.

And on a related side note...

I did a random PUG yesterday and got ROM. I was there as healer with a CP660 tank, CP500+ DPS and level 45 DPS. The level 45 guy said at the start it was his first time. No problem. I explained the 2nd boss fight to him, the one where the boss charges you and you need to lure him to kill the guys in the lightning bubble.

The fight went excruciatingly slow and I seemed to be the only one doing the mechanics... OK... whatever... it took a while but we did it.

Then we get to Chudan and I explain the need to walk his spice puke over to a fountain when he's invulnerable... no one did that. They just kept trying to DPS the invulnerable boss lol. So after the inevitable wipe I just left.

Now the level 45 guy might just have been hard of listening - after all he admitted it was his first time. But the two other high CP guys not even noticing that they were doing no damage to the invulnerable boss?

Hate to say it but my mind immediately went to noobs playing high CP characters they bought from those same botters.

Would be nice if it was instant. However I have seen them removed after a few days. We had a several month stretch where the bots were not being dealt with. However recently I do see evidence of bot removal when I go back an area several days later.

The other problem is, while the bots go away, they tend to come back to those areas after banned person sets up new accounts again. Of course if they would just use the same tech that makes me re-verify my hardware when I change out a video card to hardware signature these people, then ZOS would make some headway in keeping them out by banning the machine.

ZOS does not need a sophisticated unhackable defense against these people. Why? Think about it, these are people who can't get a real job, who try to scratch out a megar living annoying us while running a gold or character selling scheme. If this is made difficult enough then the leeches will move on to another purpose in life, like making itching powder or something.

Here's a thought: So many times per day, they should let you drop a beacon, of sorts.

It would effectively be a reporting tool, you'd literally place it at a location (such as a turning point in the path of a bot train), and attached would be code that would monitor for repetitive activity for a certain period of time.

Location would already be attached, obviously, and anything deemed suspicious by the code would be directly relayed to a GM for further investigation. It could scan a limited area, remain for a limited in-game timeframe, and be otherwise undetectable by anyone but the user who placed it or GM/Admins.

This would simplify the process of trying to report, especially when multiple accounts are involved with constant movement. It would allow for less time required by the real players, more specific 'scanning' by the game code (being user placed in areas where activity actually is), and could even be fitted with countermeasures activated by in game code or GM's directly.

The dropper's @name would still being attached, just as in a regular report, and the limitation of use would prevent griefing/false reporting.

    What do you all think?

If I were a cop on a beat and the same alley was being used for illegal activities consistently, I would make sure it was a spot I paid attention to every shift... unless of course I was feeling lazy and didn't want to hassle with the paperwork of another petty arrest.

The spots getting reported are always the same. If ZOS actually does have an adequate staff of GMs you'd think they wouldn't need to wait for me to report the Tower of the Vale yet again before they proactively take a peek there themselves to see if the bots with their new accounts are at it again.

This is the frustrating part: it's the same spots over and over again and yet it's still up to us to report the same damn spot before they look?

I know most of the spots, so they could make me a GM.

Only problem is, I would really get the Botters all upset and bothered because they would not be getting 3 day bans it would be permanent, and they would not be keeping their stuff, and all related accounts to that IP or Machine would be getting banned and if they ran a guild, that guild bank would be eliminated and the guild disbanded. Yea, they don't want me for a GM.

Whether they are GMs or not, Bot Reports do get acted on. The underlying systems that allow them to return and fester is the real problem.

I have no idea what lead you to that assumption. You must assume a lot. I report them every time I see them, over and over again. But that does not mean I have no issues with the fact that they keep returning.

Perma Ban these BOTs every time and sooner or later it will trickle to nothing or stop altogether. ZOS has to get off their tails and fix this. I'm sick of sending in BOT reports and still seeing the same BOTs weeks later.
