Terribly.... Highest piece of equipment I owned was a heavy chest level 38 that was broken while wielding a healing staff reward from the fighters guild quest line and a mix match of skills....I was a level 4 vampire sorcerer, hard casting crystal frag VR 8 , getting owned by mud crabs on a regular 0_O

Playing a heavy armour sorcerer, using shield and sword or two handed that used the first 5 abilities unlocked for most of the first 50+ hours I played. I also played in 1st person and wondered why when I pulled more than one mob I would die without even doing half of their health.
I think my rotation was literally Crystalline fragments and Mages fury as many times in a row till my magicka ran out then I would light attack the mob till either one of my abilities was available again or till one of us died.

Bosmer nightblade, using both magicka and stamina abilities. Randomly switching between all kinds of dropped weapons and armour, no matter if light, medium or heavy, whatever was higher level and had better enchants. Some points into magicka and stamina, about 80% into health. Didn't understand how researching traits worked, so I obviously never used any crafted armour sets. I have no idea how I got to level 50. Today that character is my crafter and resource gatherer. Therefore my most valued one.

Wild khajiit stamina + magicka nightblade appears! With all attributes split, wearing dropped non-set healthy jewelry with health recovery + all medium 5 Whitestrakes and 3/4 Death Wind :o I reached VR16 and ~250 CPs like that... I had fun with quests and screenshots, but was about to quit the game cause fighting was hard :D

I actually took this screenshot to memorize reaching VR16 - I was proud... Those stats though :)

    K1QZZT5.jpg

My favourite fight opener was old Wrecking Blow from stealth :D First time I ever joined group dungeon - it was CoA II. You can imagine how funny it was... Ash Titan will never forget how "dd" with 27k health uppercutted him from stealth <3
How awful stats should be to have crit damage from stealth so low...

    1U85VdR.jpg

I even crafted same gear for all my characters, no matter class and spec. They all also had bow as second weapon cause of "Venom arrow as interrupt for scary mob casters" and "Magnum shot as knockback from scary mob"

Also, my stamsorc in his early days:

    K97vfxl.jpg

Neither he nor me would ever imagine this guy will be vMA and group content grinder.

Breton Magicka templar, using daggers and heavy armor for solo play, but at least a resto staff for healing even though I have long wondered how people do that healing-beam (from rapid regen) and pointed at group members with the staff and clicked left mouse button.

When I discovered light armor and set boni, a whole new world opened up

Stamina nightblade whose main source of damage was heavy attacks weaved with silver bolts. This was when silver bolts were far more amusing to use because they'd drop all undead/daedra mobs on their asses every time, which allowed me to kill stuff before they could reach me. Good enough to solo dolmens on the zone I was questing in at about level 35-40 so I was happy.

Backbar varied. I remember using a resto staff there at one time because why the hell can I only use a healing potion like once every 45 seconds? I'm dying here and need some heals!

Oh yeah. And gear sets? That sounds too complicated. These mobs and chests drop green/blue gear so that should be enough to do all the game's content, right?

    True story: My first dungeon

Mrs. Ghul and I traveled by foot to the Banished Cells because we knew nothing about queuing for group content . We were the only two people in the dungeon and it took us 3 hours to complete it. I was a level 10 and she was a level 28. I had no idea what my class was, but I equipped myself with drops from the dungeon and I hacked my way through the dungeon with a maul dropped from shellcracker.

We didn't know anything about abilities, rotations, or how to equip ourselves properly. We didn't even have soul gems and the trash mobs obliterated us. After our long journey, we finally made it to the High Kinlord and wow....We would take him down to 80% and he would heal to full health. We were like WTF?! We figured it out eventually and I was on orb duty while she heavy attacked him to death.

Hahaha! I love being a noob. I felt so lost when the game came to console. We couldn't log in for a week because we were getting queued next in line at 65,000 or something crazy like that. By the time we got on, it seemed everyone else were hardened veterans of the game with decked out gear and knowledge.

My mdk imperial was a hybrid used blue crafted gear no sets and just enough magic to spam talons on mobs 5 time to get ult and drop stander. Also my main dps was shield bash bc it did crazy damage. Got to VR6 before they nerf my build lol.

Also didn't need a back bar so I just used one sword and shield in light gear. It was all that was needed back then

Deleted my first ever char that was lvl 11 because I didn't know about respec shrines.
Used 2h as primary weapon in dungeons for first 3 months, spamming brawler like there was no tomorrow.
Crafted my own non set gear every few levels and used to gold it out whenever I had enough coin, or by taking mats from guild bank.
Joined 1st dungeon after 2 months of play just to die 47x and then stayed out of dungeons for 2 months or so.
Joined irl friends guild that died over time and now I am only active member of it lol.

1st ever character was a khajit NB vampire hybrid

used sword & shield front bar, duel weild back bar.

attribute points evenly split between all three resources.

    morphs were 50/50 mag stam,

wore dropped gear specifically a low level set of red mountain until i hit vet 8 (im pretty sure red mountain was only available at level 20ish and vet 1 at the time)

and yet me & a pet sorc friend (who considered themself a healer because they used resto heavy attacks) were able to run around higher level zones such as rivenspire and even craglorn (we never did make it to gold/AD zones)

How did u now 'Elite chars ' begin?

Coming from Skyrim, this is my first and only MMO.

My first and (still!) main char: Alaya Windfern, Wood Elf "sniper archer" Nightblade. She started out with a dual-bow setup, attributes spread rather evenly over health, magicka and stamina, without any clue about rotations, set gear and the like.

The first two months I stayed away from any group content and played as if this was the successor to Skyrim. Yeah of course I did wander solo into Banished Cells while exploring Auridon, got wrecked in a few seconds by the first mob group, and decided dungeons aren't for me. ;)

Took quite a while before I met some nice high-level people in chat and became utterly excited and thankful when one of them gave me 10k for a horse.

It took even longer before an acquaintance told me that it might be a good idea to concentrate on stamina OR magicka (like, seriously? The maximum of your resource determines your skill damage? What nonsense is that? :) ), and to use dual-wield on the mainbar instead of a second bow. ;)

I started as a tanky khajiit. Of course, at first I didnt know that taunt exists, but someone explained it to me in 2nd or 3rd dungeon. Then I reached vr1 and no one needed unexperienced lowbie tank so I decided to roll a healer. And when I was level 9, I've met a person who taught me how to heal, dps, etc.
So I was lucky enough to avoid the majority of newbie traps. But then I became an altoholic and still cant decide which role I like the most. :D

Not knowing that you can port from keep to keep in cyro. Also that you can get good sets just by crafting them and don't need to wear random dropped overland armor(only took me to reach vr lvl to find that out :D ).

My 1st month of playing, I was a sorceror with both of the summoned pets, crystal-fragging everything. Every trash mob fight took an insanely long time because my DPS was crap. Yep. I was one of those. I thought that was the only way you could play a sorc at the time. Boy was I wrong. I ended up ditching her for a nightblade because I thought sorcs were boring, but really I only thought they were boring because I wasn't playing them to their full potential. Now that I know how to play them, I'm finding sorcs a whole lot more interesting (and deadly).
