WELL... why go farming with toons < CP 160
On a more cereal note, I've been farming Darkshade for The Truth - Divines everywhere to be had, but Impenetrable? Nah.

I had the pleasure once of linking a guildie my defending lich resto drop that we was looking for...
...on a level 40ish toon I was taking through for the skill point.
I once did over 400 runs of CoA waiting on a sharp BSW inferno. I feel your pain and wish you luck with your farming

It's 2% extra health and stamina vs. 1.5% weapon critical. That extra 2% stamina translates to about 1% more DPS, which is about the same 1.5% crit brings if your group gives you good warhorn rotation (crit multiplier > 1.75). How much are you pulling at this moment?

It's actually 4% health - 2% unduanted and 2% HA passive.
I hadn't done the math but from what I've seen heard, everyone gets the best parses on target skelly with 7 medium.
Plus you get 2% reduced cost.

I was talking relative to 7 medium. Everyone is too relative. Mathematically there is not much difference. As for the cost reduction 2% won't make or break anything. Unless you have > 1.5K recovery you'll still have to do 2xHA in your rotation to make it work. Time spent farming the "perfect" drop is time wasted not running the really hard content that actually makes you a better player. Unless you have perfect group support and you are pulling > 40K ST consistently there's no way you'll see any difference between parses in 0/7/0 1/5/1 0/6/1.

I do pull 40k+ ST self buffed, only problem is my bosmer isn't BiS race so I want to squeeze all DPS I can.
I'd rather use velidreth (got in heavy divines) but am not farming for medium.
Maybe it's only a 500 DPS difference between 1 Heavy and medium but I'd like to test both before golding it.

LOL.
Spends all this time trying to get best in slot gear.
Other people tell him not to worry about it because it's a waste of time for 0.5% gain.
OP says that he's a min maxer and wants to be perfect.
OP says he's a Bosmer.
/thread.

Golding armor is not really worth it. The difference between purple/gold armor/jewels is much smaller compared to weapons. As for races all stamina ones are within 3% of each other. On a 40K parse that's about 1.2K. So if you can't pull that is not because the race is not right but because the rotation is not right. Therefore time on dummy would be better spent than time spent farming medium divines Kra'gh.

RNG is so bad in this game, it gets really discouraging when you want to try a new build or something and have to farm ages for a chance at it. I understand MMOs are supposed to have time invested development and that's fine but when you could theoretically farm something a million times and not get what you want that's a huge problem and it makes it hard to motivate yourself. I'm wanting to change my overwhelming surge inferno from sharpened to infused but I just can't get motivated to farm a new staff when I can't pinpoint an amount of time. Maybe I get my staff in 3 hours, maybe it takes 80, its the not knowing that makes me not even want to start farming. If I'm 20 runs in and can say "well, this sucks but if I get to 50 runs I'm guaranteed to have what I want" then at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel
At least re-traiting is coming, its too bad we're so far away on consoles or I'd just put all my set farming on hold. The down side is that I've got perfect traits on all but 1 or 2 sets that I want to try/use so its a bit late.
I can't tell you how many people I know that got discouraged by the gear grind and quit or severely reduced their playtime and turned semi-casual
The DPS difference between 7M and 6M/1H is so low that you likely couldn't even measure it reliably--it'd get lost in the background noise of combat RNG.
But the 4% extra health from doing 1H is well worth it in vet trials that have high incoming damage like vHoF (and if you're a nightblade, the longer Shadow Barrier duration makes a difference, too).
I would actually prefer 6M/1H over 7M. Negligible DPS difference for a more robust build.
