Please make an option to hide pvp rank symbols by your name

I've been level 50 pvp rank for awhile now and i don't even pvp all that often anymore so i see no reason for my pvp rank to show if i don't want it to i've actually had people call me names because of the stupid thing especially if i decline duels etc i don't like it where everyone can see it make it like titles are sort of like give us the option to hide it if we want to

I don't understand why though. Just use auto decline duels. Fixes mostly anything. Who cares what they think or say to that?

If people call you names, just ignore it. Don't even use the in game ignore feature just look at it, laugh at how dumb they are and go do some awesome PvE.

Life and the game is much easier when you learn that ability.

If you really want to mess with them, duel them then take off all your gear/weapons and use /yell to say "Fancy a game of fisty cuffs then?" that's what I used to do. Fun punching people.

I don't like this idea because, in effect, the symbol becomes akin to a vanity item that when enabled may imply one is trying to show off.

Agreed.

However i do think turning the max pvp rank into a walking achievement was not a smart idea by zos.

I agree that displaying the rank should not be a toggle.

But I love the achievement because there are few penalties for dying in this game. Emp slayer, GO slayer, and horse simulator are the main ones.

I agree with you and I have the same problem. I'd really like to remove this giant 5 stars target above my nightblade and get back the citizen symbol or something more neutral.

These 5 stars just create more problems than real benefits sadly. (more tryhards in pvp, more solicitations for duels). Being chased the whole afternoon in every fights by the same players trying to kill you for an achievement or others players sending insults because you refuse every duel is quite sad. Because of this, I use my nb only for pve content now.

Funny story, I was about to log out this afternoon at Wayrest, when I see a player runing near me and asking for duel, I refused he wrote to me immediatly an insult, I did the same (I have zero patience and diplomacy with this kind of players) and later he sent me a hatemail, he was probably so mad because he couldnt measure his epeen.
This is just an example of what is happening time to time.

In my opinion, the easy solution for this problem is to create another character. But also use pve titles that you can obtain easily like master wizard.

I didn't realize you could get the achievement through duels. But then I got it naturally through the course of pvp so I don't worry about it as much.

I think it's something that should be displayed at all times. I also think the people that want you to duel think you owe them something when you don't owe them ***

Meh.
We kinda get zerged almost all the time when we PvP, so I expect nothing to change once I get my final star. *shrug*
I am indifferent about this. But, having more options is better than no options so by all means.

Not even time played anymore, what with the increase in AP gains by capturing objectives, multiple AP gain multiplier events we've had, and plain old farming. I've been PvPing for 2 years now and am still only smiley-cyclops rank v2.

haha yeah I've always called that rank the ice cream rank.

I play on so many toons though that I never get GO so I don't have to worry about this kind of thing lol. I've even deleted a former emp toon and most of my time spent pvping was before AP was easy to get.

I get the duel challenges a lot in PvE-land haha. But usually I'm in raid healer gear and I have to decline because changing CP, health, and gear is just not worth it to me to duel someone who just wants to fight a GO. But if I'm in PvP open world gear, I usually will accept. I don't really see it as a bad thing, and I wouldn't really want a toggle for it.

Also...weren't there a number of AP farms due to glitches (BB mine, etc.) that largely rendered AR rank meaningless? Akin to how the Mazz glitch allowed many people to get the Amber Plasm skin, so now you have to defend having it?

I didn't get mine this way i just pvped alot since the game came out on console now i just want the option to hide the stupid thing cause according to certain people they think it means something even tho it doesn't i've been insulted by ppl saying things like what did you do zerg to get that or worse and spammed with unnecessary duel invites then called names for not accepting them cause all i do is pve mostly now some people think it's like a beacon or something idk all i know is that it's more trouble then what it's worth heck i would even take not having the stupid symbols above my head even if it meant they rolled my pvp rank back to one

Just ignore those people i have my Rank 50 since a long time ago, i quitted PvP since it went unplayable for small groups of 2-3 player
I get also insulted cause i refuse duells but hey do i want to duell proc Nbs on the latest builds or shildstacking sorc or healbots which dont fight and just die, actually no....
Its not about that you dont have those skills its just people assume that you are a good in Duelling PvP since you hit that rank but player are toxic and horrible jealous.. Cause they went for their fishing archivment...
I would say just ignore those kids..
