I commend you guys for admitting cc break was broken after 2 years of people saying it and finally put a fix in for it(javelin still needs to be looked at and takes multiple times to cc break from it).

The next issues is LoS.... I can't tell you how many times a day it does not work against endless abilities like soul assault, snipe, frags, cliff racer and many more. I will literally be behind a stone wall and still getting hit. How in the world does a arrow penetrate a stone wall? I know it's just a game and all joking aside. You created this mechanic to defend against certain abilities and yet it has a crazy delay on it which allows you to still be hit.

Don't get me started about when I die, rez back in a keep, and I still have curse on me. No way to flush all effects off of you when you die in the code?

Are you guys looking into issues like this?

    The same way a 50 caliber bullet can penetrate a concrete wall.

    have to say ditto on the cliff racer. and even seen venom arrow and meteor through doors.

    I use snipe often, usually from elevation.With that said, in PvP, people usually start running after the 2nd hit as it can knock their health down enough they need to move. IF I've already fired or it's in the middle of the animation (meaning there is still a lock-on) AND the person is still in range but moving or hides behind cover, it'll act like a homing shot and follow the player. I believe it's working as intended. If you are getting sniped, move earlier.

    Also, fwiw, any ranged NPC attack can and will go through walls, which is super annoying. Go try and take a resource in Cyro w/o killing any sorcs on the flag (just run past everyone and enter a resource tower then cling to the sides away from the entrance line of sight) and you'll see their large fireballs (or whatever they are) magically blow through the walls and connect. Roll-dodge is effective with avoiding them.

    I've never tried it, but the skill associated with the medium armor (Evasion), if active, should increase the odds of the character physically evading the attack w/o player involvement (other than casting it).

    Most abilities with a cast time require los for the start of the cast and the finish, not the in between moments. If the ability was successful cast, it doesn't matter how far behind a stone wall, or even through a door you got.

    The simplest way of putting it is if they got the cast off on you (ie had los for start of cast and finish) you are not going to be able to los it. With birds... yes it's annoying because you can't even dodge them.

    If you think they got the cast off (depending on the cast time, obviously) and realize you have to duck for cover, you are best off ducking for cover and holding block. That way they can't get off another cast.

    Sounds like bad code that can't determine the trajectory / target is no longer in sight and cancels the ability.

    Asking projectile to not only require los on cast but on travel would make for a lot of projectiles never hitting the target.

    Even so, I was just describing what it was that currently operates now.

    The los check that counts is the final moment of cast. If they started adding variables like the projectile's los to the current situation... eh, that's complicated. Particularly when you have to account for lag on both ends (caster, target). It would be a lot more fps than rpg to do that.

    I find it super hilarious when that explosion hurts npc guards near wayshrine and they start screaming "I need healing!" and menders heal them :D But this thing itself is annoying, agree...

    Just as much as I love that the maximum range of an arrow is ~51 meters, a target can move out of LoS during travel time (for a longbow, less than a second to move 51 meters), and in ESO the rate of fire is 10x what medieval archers averaged in combat using a longbow.

    I personally think it's unproductive to compare to reality because reality doesn't apply at all in ESO. But it does make me itch when people talk about reality and don't realize just how effective bows have been throughout history.

    I have to commend everyone in this thread. A line of sight thread about damage skills. Not the normal crying about los on healing, while ignoring all the damage skills that also ignore los.

    the real issue is that most of them have this heat seeking missile effect,which imo should not even exist. all attacks should be able to be avoided in one way or another.

    Unless your specced to block properly holding block is a bad move on any other build nowdays.

    Hey, It's your job to maintain LOS and range on the healer. If you go LOS or out of range and I can't heal you, too bad. You deserve to die. And for those groups that ALWAYS want to fight on the stairs, you deserve to die too. PIck the top or the bottom...
