I worked very hard for my VMOL Skin it took months of practice in there after thieves guild dropped to finally get Skin, I agree with Eyesofthedrk above that earning a Skin that's very difficult to obtain made me very proud and you won't ever have the same feeling from purchasing one in crown store it's not a elitist symbol.

Anyways something I would love to see added is tattoos changing the appearance of skins. For example the markings on the VMOL skin would change if you have a tattoo on to make the tattoo glow blue instead.

You forgot Soul-Shriven. It has a crappy drop chance but its farmed by zergs without any issues.

And no I dont think harder PVE or PVP achievements should be bought with money, Im happy that it will stay on costumes, housing, pets and mounts only.

Mentioned it in the OP, drop chance is abysmal and there's rarely any groups for it.

Replace the blue glow with pale white or red perhaps? For those who don't do high end PvE or grind imperial city there's only two skins available and seeing as Dro-m'athra is so popular, why not put an alternate version of that on the crown store?

This was actually recommended sarcastically by someone criticising the new skin, but I think it's a great idea and that it'd be nice for those of us who struggle with endgame PvE to have access to a skin similar to the Veteran Maw of Lorkhaj skin.

Really lame that the new skin is just a recolor of the vCoS achievement skin... Was expecting something that wasnt just a color changed existing skin, quite lazy but hey, least its just a crown store item and not an in game earnable item I suppose.

Off-topic: thanks for this. I've been mucking about with a solo overload/pet build that I hate, and while it gives me good survivability, it's not yielding the kind of DPS I want. Going to give a variation on this a try, now that pets are more or less on their way out with the Necropotence nerf.

On topic: is nothing sacred? Instead of asking ZOS to re-colour skins that people worked hard to achieve, why don't we ask ZOS to make cool, unique Crown Store skins? My magsorc wants to be shiny like Almalexia.

I never buy cosmetic items, I only buy DLCs and character slots. I have no crowns to spend because I don't sub and only occasionally buy crown packs. I see no reason for other costumes or skins than those from various DLCs. In fact I only use costumes to hide ugly, rag-tag armor on my low level characters, and only equip the Amberplasm skin on my DKs, because it fits the class and the various skill effects, which have an orange tinge. The Spiderkith is quite ugly, tried it on a few chars then reverted to their natural looks. All high level characters use dyed armor, in styles such as Xyvkin, Celestial and Yokudan, which is usually a mix of crafted and dropped sets.

I've recently taken a break from group content mostly due to burnout, boredom and also the need to restructure my gameplay, but when I return I'm sure I will not have problems progressing, vMoL and vHoF to obtain the respective skins. Farming the Soul Shriven one is one of the most disgusting grinds in the game; I've killed the boss about a dozen times with my friends but it's boring and the drop rate is dismal. At least the other skins had the added benefit of being in dungeons with good sets and also motifs that could be sold, but the only marginally useful things that drops from Molag Bal are Tel Var, key fragments and occasionally Hakeijo; once I've gotten a Sigil of Retreat. I've also seen the scamp drop, but never the skin.

Nah.

"Animation cancelling makes your DPS skyrocket" is another myth. I mean, sure it does increase your DPS. On how much - depends on the class and mag/stam choice. But it's never double DPS. It's honestly never that much.

The basis of DPS is adequate gear (including potions, enchants and food), CP allocation and solid rotation. Everything else - vMA weapons, animation cancelling, etc - is just cherry on the cake. Hitting ~30k on 500CP+ doesn't require it.

The biggest issues I've seen people have who are having dps issues are:
Loose Rotation (not keeping your eye on dots timers and keeping them up but not spamming them)
Spamming keys too much - like truly spamming your main attack where you run yourself out of mana and also cancel your own dots with new dots too soon. Slow down and pay attention to what you do, don't spam skills.
Bar set up awkwardly that you need to swap too often/at the wrong time and finally, biggest of all, people who make 'animation cancelling' 2 key macros that they shouldn't do in the first place, and do it completely wrong, to boot.
Oh and badly timed ultimates.

*Edited to add; I can't speak about Stam builds because I have no experience with them at all.

The Mind-shriven skin was not a problem cause this is related to quest in the imperial city...
The ebony skin is a copy past of the Spiderkith skin ... it's a bit related to Vcos but as we can read when we link the skin, it's not.

but ... the blood-forged skin ( futur skin in the CS ) is a joke ... it's clearly related to bloodroot forge ... same thing for your " idea " it's clearly related to Vmol ...
What next ? Put Title in the CS ... ? How can we show our engame reward without get Mp by someone asking if we get them by spend 6 month in the dungeon/trial ? or by spend money ?
Ok ok ... it's not P2W at all ... but please understand that when we spend something like 1 year in a dungeons ( Vmol and Vcos for me ) we would like to get at least one thing for custom our char ... Show that we completed hard content ... and see new players wearing the same skin ... would be an insult.

They have the very distinct appearance they have because they're affected by the Bent Dance. The half-corrupted cats in the trial show that the skin is pretty much a physical manifestation of the corruption, and I assume the lines are magickal energy that empowers them. There's no strict answer for the lines that they're given, but it's obvious that it's tied to the corruption.

You can do normal Maw to learn all the lore, and I'm pretty sure you can view the description of the skin without having it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maw is old content at this point, so I kinda doubt they'd do anything with a skin, anyway. But like I said, it'd have to be sufficiently different, but now that I think about it, I'd rather just have unique skins really. Maw isn't too difficult at this point as long as you have a group with good communication - the twins will wreck you otherwise - but if you're situationally aware you'll be fine.

We're not asking to buy the achievement and title, we're asking to buy the skin in a different colour/with a different pattern, the Dro-m'athra skin will still be its own thing.

No one forced anyone to complete vMoL. I have all the current PvE skins including vMoL and I have no issue whatsoever with ESO putting a similar styled skin albeit discernible from the vMoL skin into the crown store or whatever. Since when did more options become a bad thing?

Can't zerg farm when there are no zergs available to join. And the drop rate is so disgustingly horrible it's not worth the time commitment.

From what I've heard, zerging Molag Bal has its limits. Namely only the first 12 players ranked by damage done get any loot, the others don't get to enjoy their key fragments. As for not being able to finish vWGT and vICP after months of complaining on forum shows something about one's ambition to improve himself. I never lacked that since I started playing, I learned, I improved myself, I've studied other people's builds, I understood how things worked, I trained my reflexes. Never did I once ask for anything to be made available without demonstrating skill. I've had my moments when I wanted to abandon the game - indeed, I have temporarily abandoned parts of it - but it was simply to improve myself at others. Now simply get out of your comfortable bubble and start improving your gameplay if you want skins or other cosmetic items.
