Ah yes, I did forget to mention that I am in the Aldmeri Dominion on my main. She was the one I was trying to earn Cadwell's Gold on and the only way I was going to get through it was to get it over with. Also, I am on PC/NA. I couldn't use a game controller to save my own life so I mouse/keyboard it!

Hmmm....there is an AD mega-guild that is pug friendly...Total Domination I think? They should be able to find you a spot.

    AD is terrible.

AD and EP best got whoopin from DC.
The best now reside in DC.

They aint interested in going back to AD or EP in order to try and to even the playin field.
Back in days there was no DC buff server.
I came and put them EP and AD in their place.
ALL servers are DC BUFF servers today.

@Publius_Scipio I KNEW it was you!

You do not need to be good at pvp to get tons of AP. Just go around spamming mutagen following a zerg and hopefully they capture the castle for easy 12k ap.

I already know the filthy destro ult bombers their whole body is shaking like a meth addict waiting for their fix and bomb a whole zerg to get tons of easy AP. All thanks to the genius game designer Sr Eric Wrobel the second, so if you are new and expecting not to get farmed well i got bad news for you. Destro ults/vd's/grothars galore.

If I'd go then I would first buy movie tickets. For the wife and kids you know, get them out of the house. With all the swearing going on my wife might get excited thinking I'm building something plus I don't want the kids to hear that. After that initial phase I'd really like to be alone. I only cry alone.

Not sure about all these responses saying something like get out there and play. I think they just want to lure me in and farm AP over my dead body. :o

If you see your alliance sieging a keep, run over there and help! Ticks will be quite large during double AP. Get some counter siege like meatbags, oil pots, fire ballistas and siege the enemy when they attack your keeps and such. Heal other players with things like vigor if you're stam, etc. You can contribute a lot, actually and not be super amazing at PvP. Just explore, have fun and such! Also, the Cyrodiil quests also reward AP ^.^

Just jump in and announce in chat "LFG". Tell the group leader you are new to PvP, and then stick to crown like he owes you money and follow instructions. Do those 2 things, and you will be miles ahead of the average pug.

this is true, I do not pvp but I did just this and man was it amazing vs my normal pug run.

I'm a widow with 2 grown daughters. I thought I knew all about swearing when I met my husband, but it turns out we taught each other a few new ones! My oldest daughter is teaching me a thing or two now!

Like mentioned a few times allready just look for a pug group and stick to the crown the more people do that the higher your chances of winning fights. If you want to make a character pvp ready look at a few builds online to help you sort some skills out
    Champion point: 645

Ondaril Stormian - AD - Trail DPS - Sorcerer

I guess this thread has already taught you one thing about PVP..: The PVP community aren't the demons and trolls that they seem to get painted as

A lot of good advice here so far - here's a but more...

    [...]

If you don't get a group - don't worry, its just because there isn't one running with spaces at that time (or the leader was too busy to notice your LFG in chat at that time - which is why asking every few minutes is useful)

In the meantime, if you don't get a group - you can still play. Learn to understand the map - see where the conflicts are (crossed swords) or keeps are under attack (have a yellow glow behind them) - and go there. You will generally see plenty of other people going there too. When you get there, there will often be a large amount of friendlies in combat - stick with them. You don't have to be in a group to play alongside others. You benefit from each others heals/buffs etc. grouped or not. You can help kill the same targets grouped or not. You can join in with a pre-existing siege etc.
This is called zerg-surfing. There are probably more people doing just this than there are in groups at any one time in cyro.

    On Dying
Rule number 1. Don't get salty. You will die - a lot. Its what PVP is. I've seen some PVEers get really upset when someone kills them in Cyro or IC.. and take it as some kind of trolling/hatred directed against them etc.. It isn't, its just PVPers Pvping in a PVP zone.. I honestly think this is one of the main reasons people think PVPers are toxic etc.... I suspect if you do see this kind of rage in chat - its probably PVE-ers who are only there for the event and havn't learned this yet.

    [...]

Most importantly - Don't get annoyed, Persevere and Have Fun

    This.
Best Post in here, just didn´t want to full-quote...
Should really be stickied for everyone diving into pvp to read.

Everyone dies roughly half the time in PvP, so I guess everyone stinks at it.

Don't fret about it. Grab yourself some impenetrable gear, make sure you've got good resistances and get out there and learn how to survive. When you start to come out of 1 in 2 skirmishes, look at ways of improving your offense. It'll be a quick thing, it's just about upping your speed and getting used to 'mobs' that move about loads and can actually hurt you. You'll get the odd player NPC too, standing on the spot light attacking you will a bow in your face. Just don't be one of those

Go for non CP PvP. I guess you'll have spent any CP on PvE stuff. PvP players will have spent their CPs on PvP stuff and will destroy you. Non CP campaigns mean you can use the same character for PvE and PvP by swapping your gear and skills.

Most important bit. Remember to enjoy yourself!
