The Vampire Lord (Magicka Templar build)...

FYI chudan gives approximately 10% DMG mitigation, not 15%

When you do the math of 663 resist equaling 1% of damage reduction, it comes out to about 11.9% damage negation (7920÷663)...

But in actual practice, it's around 15% negation...

It does help that Chudan will be getting buffed with the update (it will give a total of 8284 Physical/Spell Resist at all times to go along with 1205 Max Health); it doesn't negate what I will lose with the changes to Defending, Sharpened, or Thief, but the build should still be strong...

I got to to admit though, depending on how this build performs once I am able to thoroughly test it out after the update, changes may be in order (especially as pertains to weapon traits)...

But we'll chew that fat once we get there...

@TheDoomsdayMonster you could try chudan 1 p with 1 p pirate skeleton and the slot the major armour buff. Would probably take you too heavy armour lvls.

To account for defending trait nerfs, you'll need the following:
    - pirate medium or heavy yellow with 23 CP LA focus/spell resistance (2408 armor)
    - or boost with Lady mundas (2742 spell/physical armor)

Mundas change does impact offensive rotations. Pirate+CP resists does not. I'm still reviewing how resistance values impact play, especially with builds using resistance skill debuffs.

They both give 2975 each at gold level. Together they give you only 500 resists less than bloodspawn and is more consistent lol.

Ok, here is the CP distribution:

    Thaumaturge: 72
    Master at Arms: 11
    Blessed: 0
    Elfborn: 72
    Elemental Expert: 37
    Spell Erosion: 38

    Shade: 21
    Tumbling: 61
    Tenacity: 37

    Hardy: 37
    Elemental Defender: 37
    Light Armor Focus: 1
    Ironclad: 37
    Resistant: 39

I have been tinkering with the CP distribution with this build, and have found a way to optimize it for better performance...

The above that is bolded reflects the new values...

I love your build I tried it out on my templar and I think it may be my favorite build ever, but I have a few questions.
    1. What race are you using?
    2. Why Warlord for cp? I thought warlord was a stamina thing correct me if I'm wrong.
    3. Why not use aggressive horn for your healing bar ultimate?

Thanks so much for posting this build!

    Ok, to answer your questions:

    1) Breton...the Magicka Regen and Magicka Cost Reduction racial passives go very well with this build.

    2) Warlord reduces the amount of stamina you need to Break Free; since Stamina is low on a Magicka character, having a cost reduction to this is valuable.

    3) Agressive Warhorn is very usable. Its a good Ult and you could easily use it instead of Replenishing Barrier. I prefer Replenishing Barrier though as its pure damage negation and is very effective at keeping your group alive. Also, you get bit of Ult back every time one of the wards go down, and so it helps itself refresh faster (and if your group members have pets, they get the damage shield as well, which means more wards, which means faster Ult regen).

Thanks again for trying out the build!

    :)

@TheDoomsdayMonster How is this build, for PVE? Specifically, would it work for VMA? If so, would it work with a High Elf?

    thanks :)

I've never done Vet MA, so I honestly don't know...

But I would imagine it would do well; as long as you keep your HoT's active, the Combat Physician Damage Shield will proc the moment its cooldown is over allowing you to either achieve or come close to its ability to completely negate 81000+ damage per minute...

Your heals will be very good as the Spell Crit and Crit Modifier are high (63% and 83% respectively)...

And because of Mighty Chudan and the triple stat glyphs that are in all your armor, you can definitely take a beating...

Edit: And I have completed all Vet 4 man dungeons with this build...

I think it would be good for a High Elf (due to the Magicka Passives), but not ideal as this build doesnt use a Destro Staff nor does it use any elemental damage other than Magic based...

Edit: I am a Breton on this build.

Is it worth it to keep Thaumaturge at 72? I thought this build only had one damage over time ability with structured Entropy unless ritual of retribution or invigorating drain count as dot I’m not sure

Its absolutely worth it to keep Thaumaturge at 72...

Puncturing Sweeps, Invigorating Drain, and Devouring Swarm all benefit from Thaumaturge...

I cant recall if Structured Entropy does or not; I think it does, but I'm not in a position to double check and tell you conclusively at this time...

Also I have another question: For the mighty chudan set should I use the heavy or light set? Do you recommend all light or do you have 2 heavy and 5 light?

Edit: Sry I didn't see the 5 light 1 medium 1 heavy on the first page, but should the mighty chudan helm or shoulders be heavy or medium or does it not matter?
