Zenimax Gets Nerevarine Wrong

As I've been going along with the Morrowind quests, I've been trying to ignore this problem. It's getting really hard to, and I'm getting more and more annoyed every time I hear someone say Nerevarine in ESO. The pronunciation has always been "Nare-Uh-Va-Reen", but everyone in Morrowind says "Nare-Uh-Vare-Ee-Un", which can be heard here

Seeing as how this is one of the most important things about Dunmer culture, it's pretty annoying that they just go about it so wrong, so often in this game. Anyone else get annoyed by this? WHY ZENIMAX, WHY?!

Before you reply, if you're going to defend this with the "it's been 700 years argument" just stop now. I've heard it, I've considered it, it doesn't fly.

    (ner-uh-vah-reen), (ner-uh-vare-een). I dunno, this sounds like just another Po-tay-to, Po-tah-to thing.

Sure if it was one or two npc's. It's not, it's all of them. The actual pronunciation is nowhere to be heard side by side with other pronunciations, it's just straight up gone.

Yeah a lot can happen to language in 700 years.

its almost a thousand years before TES III so theres bound to be some accent difference back then.

No, it's 700 years, Dunmer lifespans are 300 years, and this prophecy is as old as the Chimer. So no. I'm sick of that f'n excuse. You people need to stop enabling these lazy errors.

And there is a difference between accents and pronouncing something wrong.

Just gonna re-quote that for you because you clearly weren't reading the replies.

What bothered me the most is the random "Old English" speak that we get sometimes, just sounds so out of place.

Ikr you'd think they'd have voice actors of the same style of language for each race etc.. When one Orc pronounces Lieutenant as Left-tenant and all the rest say it as Loo-tenant it makes you cringe.

They simply chose bad voice actors for the Orsimer. Half of them are pseudo-British sounding, as if that wasn't prevalent enough in this game.

As if the voice actors in the first game were infallible and the modern ones are messing it up. I don't think there's a strict pronunciation for any of these things, more like guidelines. I mean did you hear how Azura said "Dwemer"?

I really never have anything productive to add... I am really good at that!

Infallible? No...? Maybe, I don't know really, not relevant. The "modern ones messing it up"? Yes, but I don't blame them. Ultimately it's the producers at zenimax who should be on this stuff. " I don't think there's a strict pronunciation for any of these things, more like guidelines", well I completely disagree with that, I think being called what you're supposed to be called is kind of important, but hey if that means I can you Captain Billy Bob than sweet.

I'm just suggesting that the "original" pronunciations are not even necessarily how it was intended to be pronounced. Like "n'wah" sounds way better in the modern pronunciation by all the voice actors than "enwah" like how it used to be pronounced (you know, by all two voice actors for Dunmer in TES3). It doesn't even make sense linguistically to pronounce it the old way. It's more likely that they did it wrong in TES3 due to budget and time constraints than now, when they have a whole team behind it and at least 8 male and 8 female voice actors for each race.

EDIT: that said, I don't personally like how "Gnisis" and "Ald-Ruhn" are pronounced, but then again I never really liked the way "Cyrodiil" was pronounced either. And also those are personal preferences as opposed to being the hard law of the creative team.
