PvP Ballance: the Death of Competitive gameplay

Sadly, this is the state of the game now.

They keep bounding more and more of the game to RNG. First it was loot, then it was crown crates, and now they are dictating combat outcome on RNG as well.

I don't know where you go from here, I do know it's unhealthy for the game and creates an overall toxic environment.

I have become a very causal eso player, I used to play every day for several hours, most was pvp, but with the cheating, exploits, broken game mechanics, proc set meta's, it just go to the point It was not fun any longer, I was doing ok if I played I always got gold at the end of the campaign, I was not dying more often, just got tired of seeing everyone run around doing almost the same thing all the time day in and day out, no diversity in weapons or play style, silly blob groups running around spamming the same things over and over, it just lost it's appeal to me.

But OP I agree with what your saying, but it is just the tip of the iceberg to all the problems this game has and will continue to have as long as we have such an inexperienced dev team.

I didn't mind proc sets back in the day when you were really limited to 2P magicka focused sets like Skoria, but them adding so many proc sets that can be stacked was a bad idea. It's ridiculous to think that back in the day you used to have to balance raw stats for sustain and damage, but now the armor that someone wears is often times more of a threat than that actual player is.

Leave proc sets to 2P offerings and remove/change 5P proc sets, and by proc sets I really just mean sets that do direct damage for you (viper, red mountain etc), not sets like ravaging or whatever.

I would include winterborn in the above, but it's so ***.

Look - I warned everyone of this garbage and Battlegrounds were vehemently defended. They treated MY THREAD HERE like it was just doomsaying when a lot of the concerns were due to current (at the time) imbalance issues that were going to be compounded in a small scale BG setting.

I was told that i was wrong and ultimately they resorted to pulling the NDA card to quell discussion.

There is no competitive environment, and there isn't going to be one. Even if they somehow balance proc sets, there is always going to be plenty of cheese and broken stuff, is the nature of an MMO like this one.

Play the game for what it is, a -mostly- fun casual PvP.

Yeah, I've been avoid BGs for that reason, it's fun until you run into organized groups of players all stacking procs. I can't imagine being so bad at this game that you have fun running a setup like viper/tremor/alch.

It's a shame, because otherwise battlegrounds are great, and something this game has been missing for a long time.

It's always like this though, ZoS gets so close, but then something stupid little thing like broken set meta completely ruins all the hard work and effort put into an entire system.

Simple. I think BG's are fun. People QQ about cancer and cheese, saying competitive play is dead. But I don't feel it is dead, and I've had some really challenging matches that were a lot of fun. QQ all you want, idgaf. I'm just gonna go enjoy myself.

The kicker is though people like myself and few others told them that Itemization since One Tamriel is broken.

They introduced every set in the game with Jewelry and Sword and board to go along with armor pieces. YOU SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET EVERY SET IN THE GAME WITH ARMOR SWORD AND BOARD AND JEWELRY(Caps lock is meant for ZOS not you)

What this does is allow these truly ridiclious broken setups. Remember the Reactive + Lich + Malabeth Templars...Broken....now we have the 5 Viper, 2 Selene/Velidreth, insert other 5 piece here proc build setups.

Itemization has been absolutely broken since One Tamriel, and a few others and myself told them repeatedly over, and over, and over again that the biggest balance issues in the game was with itemization even moreso then CP.

Your idea about removing proc sets from 5 pieces and only having them on two pieces is ideal.

Is grp queue on NA working? Every time we tried so far we skipped after 30 min max because we could not get into a single match.

Like honestly. I´ve not played a single grp queued BG with 4 persons because the queue is fecking broken bugged piece o poo on EU.
It´s actually the first time i´m angry i paid sth. for eso because the feature i bought the product for is nonfunctional. It´s not impaired. It does not function at all every time we/i try.
I also have no idea how you can give any of the responsible devs constructive criticism anymore. Like hell they can not be unaware that their product is broken if they work at all.
