Battlegrounds for everyone?

Let's assume a perfect world where Battlegrounds works as envisioned for this question.

Will you feel "cheated" if they opened up battlegrounds to the base game, accessible to players who didn't buy Morrowind?

So here it is, should battlegrounds be for everyone?

I don't mind if it's for everyone, however I would expect some kind of comp for the reduced value of Morrowind.

As the poll vote, it did surprise me it wasn't this way.

I would love it myself but IC is behind a pay wall and that's pvp but everything for free is nice XD

They said it during one of ESO Live. But no idea which one. There was a lot of them...

But this is also reason why battlegrounds' achievements arent in morrowind's section

I really was surprised, somehow I missed that piece of information in all the lead-up.

More people participating can only be better for all participants - including people who did buy the expansion. So unless they knew the matchmaking system was going to be cough problematical, I don't get it.

Add it to the base game and let us all kill each other.

If someone had only bought Morrowind for BG's and I got access with merely Homestead I could undertstand them perhaps feeling ripped off. However, how many haven't touched the Warden or explored the pve side of their purchase, not many If any assume. Either way, its a bit late now to be fair.

Personally I think IC should be moved to be included with the base game as well. The areas and questlines I can understand being behind a paywall, but I think game modes (as I would consider IC with the Tel Var stone mechanics) should be available to everyone.

To be honest a paywall for battlegrounds is just ridiculous. For Warden and Morrowind: okay. But not for something like battlegrounds.

They actually made battlegrounds only playable with Morrowind? That's awful.....I mean, I knew that small scale pvp always splits up the population, but THIS is taking it to a whole new level.

For battlegrounds you need an actual playerbase that has access to them for good matchmaking. For Warden you don't. That's why battlegrounds should be available as a base game update.

Honestly, can't you say the same thing about Imperial city as well? Same for all group dungeons and trials in the other DLC's?

The difference here is that you can access all of that with ESO+.

I think Battlegrounds are big enough feature that I have no problem paying for. It could've been a one time upgrade in the crown store, but being a part of this expansion pack works as well. Also if it were a stand alone thing, it should of course be available to ESO+ guys and gals as long as they remain subscribed (I'm not ESO+ member).

Bottom line is, it's a cool feature that is involved enough to require reasonable payment. Whether or not it works as intended is a different matter entirely and needs a separate discussion.

Maybe not all of marrowind for eso+ but maybe just the BG part would be a nice compromise

I had expected battlegrounds to be a basic game feature, Though they choose otherwise... but that's their thing I guess.

I would not mind if they sold them seperately as one-time unlock in the crown store. I would not mind the same for warden access and morrowind either - as long as all together cost the same we all paid for the "expansion" as to not cheapen that one (or we get some other return for our financial support of ESO)...

yes, at all how pvp is poor with maps, dlc etc and again in overall with maps to play I was surpised how and this is behind paywall to pve,,,morrowind is mainly pve zone and spending that many money for only battlegrounds as for pvp player its insane

Battlegrounds NEED to be available, maybe not now and Zenimax clearly knows it, but if by winter they are not free or free for sub they will be dead

Battlegrounds work better if they can draw from a higher population; however, they are really bad atm anyway. GW2's bgs are about a million times more entertaining, and Rift, WoW, etc all did a much better job as well.

That said, one benefit I see of only having BGs available if you buy morrowind is that it doesn't hurt the Cyrodiil population as much.

But yes, maybe if more people complain, ZOS might actually start looking into the issues.

That would actually make sense, as a lot of companies do this (release paid 'early access' or betas) before going free to play, and if that were the case I wouldn't judge Battlegrounds nearly as harshly, but if that were the case and they weren't straight forward us, that's seriously messed up.

I don't know if I'd feel cheated, but given that Battlegrounds are advertised as a feature of the Morrowind chapter, they should only be available to people who have purchased Morrowind. If they added Battlegrounds without requiring Morrowind ownership, the relative value of Morrowind would decrease, as one of the things you specifically purchased Morrowind for would be available without it (even if they're different maps).

My bestie is not getting Morrowind, I wish I could play with him even if I paid and he didnt...:(...I miss him. Not even doing battlegrounds because he isnt there .
