We are currently investigating issues some players are having logging into the PTS. We will update as new information becomes available.

Another important thing

I would like to raise the issue which for some reason everybody forgot about in the wake of future huge balance changes. Namely - house furniture limitations.

I think every house owner is familiar with the situation when decorating properly only one room already causes reach of the limit. Even with subscription (that extends the limit twice). This situation is very unpleasant, because it limits both players creativity and possibility to potentially spend money on more accessories for the house, because when limitations reached there is no reason to do anything with decoration improving.

Of course, one can try to realize all the ideas in such narrow limits, but it rises a question: What's the point in limiting players? More things we can put in our houses, the more money we potentially could spend to get them. Some people even creating obstacle courses and arenas in their houses, which is obviosly hard to fully realise with existing limitations.

Somebody might raise an objection that more than dozen houses are available to the player, with function to decorate each one of them separately. But do you really think it's appropriate to buy a separate house for each purpose (living room, kitchen, library, etc.)? I don't mind buying a lot of houses, but I would like to make each of them perfect embodiments of my vision.

If you agree with this, support this tread with the story of your personal negative experience of furniture limitations. Thus, you'll show that this is an actual problem for many players.
Thank you for attention

Well obviously limits exist to keep the player files on the servers manageable and to keep the game from potentially crashing due to the sheer amount of items one could possibly put in a home.

Still I agree, the limits should be higher than they currently are.

I agree with that. Though I never encounter the furniture limit, I've had an issue then placing pets, assistants and mounts in my house (Sleek Creek House) - the total amount of 6 is just ridiculous.

The limits are there for stability reasons AFAIK.

I don't agree that ESO+ get more limits than non-ESO+ but we have to have some limits.

I guess the limits are what they are so consoles don't crash when loading into houses.

They're pretty terrible though, 700 for manors is nothing. I almost spent that on the garden.

I haven't bought a house yet, so I can't really complain yet, but you are right (if the wiki is correct):
    • Small house: 100 spots.
    • Ebonheart Chateau: 300 spots
Looking at small house pictures, I think 100 will do, but the Chateau? It looks like it has the space of at least 6 small houses.

I totally agree. Just before homestead launched I have to say I didn't understand the point. No storage? What's the point then? It's just an expensive shoebox for your characters to hang around with very few other players. As I didn't see the point in housing I was still curious. I got the free Ebonheart inn room and bought a few things from different achievement furnishers. A coffin, some soulgems, coffin lid and a pillow. Was fun until I bought a carpet and the molag bal 20K tel var brazier. They were too big for my room :D So then I figured I'd get a house under 100K gold and ent up with Twin Arches.

I could place 100 items, 2 collectibles and have 5 (6 including myself) guests. I guess that's ok? NO! I love details and I'm overdecorating my not so expensive shoebox (yet). Bought a giant statue for 25K, another one for 20K and a skyshard for god who knows how much. Was really struggling with the outside area as I couldn't place more than one more thing. And where did I want to place it? On the roof. Was that possible? Yeah but it was useless because you can't walk up there.

Packed up my things and moved to Grymharts Woe. 200 items, 3 collectibles and 11 (12 with me) players! Do I like it? Yeah it's great in here. I'm still overdecorating but that's just me as a person. The house itself is bigger than Strident Springs Demense, but SSD has a giant garden and a pool. I'm not really a fan of gardens so instead of wasting 1mill gold on a garden I'm not going to use, Grymharts woe is a good option. But that non existant balcony really bothers me, even tho it is how Grymhart got it's name :(

I hate furniture and the fact that mobs drop those parts. It's the reason i cant just press the "loot all" button, because later it takes ages to clear my inventory from this crap.

Please give us an additional custom option to auto-delete these items!

I totally agree with your point. I met people who run out of limits with ESO+ and they didn't complete their ideas. I'm afraid of case that my house in general will look empty with full slots.
I bet Zenimax can add more limits for us. They can afford us buying all houses and decorating them for full slots. So, I think, it isn't a problem for more limits (I don't know people who bought all houses but two or three and they decorated in style them).
People can create a great constructions like labirints or different areas. People can make a house which shows culture of one race. You gave people a possibility of buying house in place which you can't find in single Scrolls - Auridon, High Rock etc; you gave us a lot of furniture with different style. Please, give us more house limits and ESO will be greater then now.

I think everyone (that has a home) agrees there should be more. How much more, and at what cost, are the questions.

The limits for most homes seem restrictive, even with my ESO+ subscription. Some small-ish, high-dollar homes are the possible exception. Personally I believe most homes deserve a 25% increase across the board; possibly even 50%, but I'm less certain at that point. Beyond that I feel we should have to pay something.

I've been thinking about a poll to this effect, but the exact verbiage of said poll is still eluding me. A well designed poll is a rare thing and beautiful thing. Most are garbage, and even good ones generally don't get enough participation unless they're stickied. It should illuminate a clear direction that makes business sense (which might mean doing nothing). Something like this:
If there was a new crown store item, "The Hoarder Certification", which grants a one-time, permanent increase of 100 furnishings (double for active ESO+) for one house of any size, and is stackable, the most I would pay for one is (a)____, (b) ____, (c) ____, (d) ZERO, because I'm a spoiled brat, (e) Item limits are high enough (f) I have no desire for a home.
Now if you could just get ZOS to to notice, publish, and sticky such a poll, you might see something useful. My piddly 1-star forum rating won't be grabbing their attention without some massive up-voting.

If the limits could even be tweaked according to actual house size, that would be a help. As an example, the limit of 200 items for Sleek Creek House is turning out to be adequate (as I've set it up, anyway) for that place... but the 100 limit for Twin Arches is nowhere near enough. Twin Arches is considered a "small" house -- but it's actually not that small. 150 items or even 125 ought to be its base limit.... unlike Captain Morgans or other small houses, Twin Arches has a courtyard, and that has to count for something. Also, I've noticed that furniture placed in the Twin Arches courtyard cannot be used or sat on no matter where you place it. That's just nutty!
