Trueflame, still obtainable?

So I asked this question on the reddit some days ago, got some people saying you can not obtain it anymore, and then someone else saying you could obtain it and it would be cp160. The way it was obtain both times was by fishing in Stonefalls. If you are still confused, i am talking about Trueflame, the sword, not the campaign. If anyone has some clear proof that it is still able to be obtained, if so how and where? I sent a question to ESO support which directed me to speak with players here. Saying they could not give out such information. So guys, got any friends or acquaintances that have obtained this legendary blade?

Well, for 99% of people here, Trueflame is a Cyrodiil campaign.
Obviously you're referring to something else (probably a fish, as @Rohamad_Ali also guessed :) ) but it would be nice if you help us helping you by making your question more clear. :)

It's a rare and probably bugged item that to my best knowledge was removed from the game.
    Trueflame

If someone claims that it drops at CP160, then they should have no trouble providing the proof :)

So now we have 3 options
1/ Trueflame is a Cyrodiil campaign
2/ Trueflame is a set sword
3/ Trueflame is something obtainable by fishing in Stonefalls ?

    This really needs clarified :)

Nah.. The bugged item could be obtained by fishing in Stonefalls (options 2+3). And Cyrodiil campaigns don't drop in CP160.

According to ES lore Trueflame is a sword that Dwemer king Durac gave to lord Indoril Nerevar as a wedding gift.
According to teso wiki, you can obtain this sword/artifact very rarely when fishing in Stonefalls. During the early days, some people actually got the artifact, but it was not usable as a weapon.
No idea if it is still obtainable or not.

I remember at launch there was a bug (since fixed) with getting VR weapons from fishing in Stonefalls, I don't think it was specifically Trueflame though.

Also this thread was really confusing because I started reading it wondering where PvP came into it until I realised it was about the item.

    Trueflame is broken atm.

And the sword Trueflame will be reforged by The nerevarine

The sword is in the game people have it, but the question is if we can still obtain it. Obviously it is not the real Trueflame. It's probably just a fake one. Unless they plan to use it again for the Morrowind Expansion.

All the Cyrodiil campaigns are named after unique or legendary artifacts and weapons in Elder Scrolls lore, most which have also been obtainable in previous games.

That's probably the exception to the rule.

Trueflame (and hopesfire) both exist in the game code as items, but they're not supposed to be available to the player. There were a lot of artifacts available to players during the beta; stuff like Auriel's Bow, for instance. But, none of those were ever meant to be accessible on live.

When the game launched there were a number of bugged drop lists. Off hand, I remember mudcrabs had a minuscule chance to drop purple motifs (Primal through Daedric), for instance. Another one was the fishing tables in Stonefalls. They erroneously included Hopesfire and Trueflame, and it was possible to obtain VR1 versions from wet sacks. Thing is, as items, they were straight up garbage. Their enchantments create a visual effect, but don't actually do anything (or have charges, as I recall). Their stats were very low. It was pretty clear these existed to equip on NPCs, not players. Possibly in some flashback sequence that got cut.

So, the items exist in game, they cannot be obtained anymore. A handful are in circulation, but they're just collectibles, they have no real value.

I know a couple peeps who have these in game, I'm sure plenty more collectors have them. It is no longer obtainable as it was looted from fishing iirc.

I don't really care if it's usable or not, but I would love to add it to my artifacts collection.

Do you think it's worth trying to fish in stonefalls?

If you look in the link, you will find that these were supposedly the "First-Dungeons Dropped Sets" which includes what's called the Arms of Infernace set.

If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Thank you, but if they abandoned that idea for real weapons, did they put those items as "collectibles", like those unique fish or looted items (like Sunder's shaft or Bolt of the Numidium we can find)?

I never obtained items like these but afaik Trueflame was removed from the fishing list because it was unintended loot.

And that screenshot is obviously from a manually created chat link.. It even says "Bind on pickup" which should not be possible if the item is in someone's inventory.

I don't think there is a way to obtain it anymore. Not sure if it was even tradable.

Now do you see the confusion? I know I do.

true flame was a sword you could accidentally fish up in the starter zone of ep and ad but not dc and was fixed in the first week of the game. It was released a second time when zenimax cared about pvp in the first 6 months of the game as a v10 sword for the top 2 ap holders for each alliance at the end of campaign for 2 campaigns. It has been gone for ages

The vet rank swords from fishing was removed in Patch 1.0.1 http://tamrieljournal.com/eso-patch-1-0-1-notes/

So you can't acquire Trueflame through fishing anymore.

Sigh, thanks guys. Nice to know to don't waste my time fishing there.

@ZOS_GinaBruno it would be a nice idea to put more legendary ES artifacts into "Treasure" category, obtainable via thievery and rare drops. We already have some, but items like Trueflame, Azura's star and similar would be perfect for us ES lore freaks. :)
