Watchers

I hate Watchers. I dislike the way they lurk in confined spaces, killing me with little effort. So when I was tasked with collecting their eyes, I cringed. I put off finishing the quest until recently- and then discovered that I only needed one eye to finish it! Seriously, why didn't the journal inform me that I only needed one?

I'm speaking of one of the sub-quests for "Fit to Rule"- its name escapes me already. What are your thoughts on Watchers, and do you have a strategy for fighting them? Usually I would say "Just use Energy Overload," but one of my Dominion characters (Seeks) is a templar. Help?

    Ha. That quest...yeah...pain in the..

You won't have that many watchers that you're forced to confront. That's the good news. The bad news is that Harvesters are way worse. Are you a relatively new player? Based on that quest and your issues I'm thinking you might be, so these tips are relatively basic:

    - block and dodge roll: the watchers have one big heavy attack that has a long range and wide field. When you see it coming, block, and make sure you saved some stamina for it.

    - buff yourself. Adding 20% damage and 20% crit is huge. For magic that's major sorcery and major prophesy, for stamina builds its major brutality and major savagery. You'll have abilities that offer these, and if not use a potion you've made rather than picked up that gives them. If you're hitting 30%+ harder, the fights are shorter and easier.

    - ward yourself. If your Templar is a magic build, the harness magic ability in the light armor line is super handy in tough fights. It only lasts 6 seconds, but it gives a big shield and when you're hit it returns magic.

    - kite. Don't be afraid to run away and chip away at a boss bit by bit. Don't run so far that they reset, though. For a watcher, if you get behind them they're less effective. Make them spin in circles while you smack at them, blocking their attacks when you can.

Since you've already been given all useful info... For me, Watchers are one of most unpleasant creatures in this game, cause of their really weird look. It doesn't stop me from admiring them as interesting monsters.

This Watcher looks weird, but he also has seen many weird things :D

They are the watchers in the halls. They are the fire that burns against cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the eyeball that freaks out the realms of men.
