What type of magblade are you and why.

I am a melee magblade myself. I used to be stamblade in the beginning using S&B and bow when everybody and their mother weared skirts and waved staffs. Until the end of 1.5 I made a hybrid build, using more magicka to hide and cripple enemies while using the bow still. After 1.6 I felt my hybrid magbowblade was totally useless. After that I went fully melee magblade.

I have tried many times to return to stamblade. everytime I do, enemies die left and right due to the burst damage and I get around better due to the better mobility and staminapool. But after a few days I return to magblade since I just really love it.

I wear 5 x 1 x 1 with 5 parts light armor.

I use khrag's hope to resurrect quicker (not because im a good guy, but I need meat shields) and a random armor set (spinner, necro or whatever suits my need) 1 kena and another I forgot but has magicka recovery on 1 piece.

Concealed weapon is my main attack. My backbar is either resto staff or also DW but instead of concealed I use swallow soul.

For some reason I always think a ranged Magblade is a healer. Do you not secretly heal on your magblade when you're standing back there piddling with souls, playing with soul magic?

I do currently have the Funnel Health morph so me and a friend can do more duo content and share heals... So yes?

I play ranged and Melee . I did it for the challenge . Got bored with my stamblade a year ago as infinite dodge roll and gank kills were almost a guarantee . I played stamblade for two years straight . I think I ran over 20 different builds in two years . It just became way too easy in PVP . I could gank almost blind folded . 1 vs 4-5 was very easy . I never got in a situation where I was honestly 1 v X . If that situation started I would be hidden and gone .

Magblade has been a huge learning curve . I enjoy learning . After a year I've gotten comfortable but still have some lessons to learn . Triggering good spell damage is different then weapon damage and requires a different way of fighting . I use less stealth and more utility . The class has a lot of fun factor bit needs some boosting to bring it back in line with other classes . There are only a few ways to play that work well in PVP . The Melee side is lacking power . I would like to see Magblade get a dev upgrade after several nerfs in the past .

I had around 9k tooltip with concealed weapon and most of the times I hit an enemy and hardly do damage. Then I give up and sneak away or I die. Wearing light armor does not help me survive if my initial blow does not do any damage.

Sometimes I slice and dice through the enemies who then probably wear light armor or medium but it's hard to tell with costumes hehe.

Yesterday I found a stamblade who are normally not that of an issue. But I could just not put a dent in his armor. And I made a slight mistake (ie, attack with no stamina) so I got feared unable to break free and had to deal with de bow ballista ultimate which killed me straight away.

To be honest I never feel ashamed when I die. I know sometimes I am to impulsive and just jump into a fight without checking buffs, food or the enemy itself. And that just does not work for my build.

2.1 (imperial city) - 2.2 - Sap essence + proxy + clouding swarm
2.3 (thieves guild) - thought VD bombing was lame and there was like 500 bugs (RIP clouding swarm). Played BDO instead.

2.5 (soth) onwards - Played every class other than nightblade. Why play a nb when you can play a stam sorc, magplar, stamplar and other OP fotm st00f. NB's are the best at bombing but I feel like the other classes are better at everything else.

Morrowind - Warden :P Why play NB when you can play a Warden.

(done a lot of other builds on nb over the years like ganking, cleanse etc)

I think I mainly got bored of NB from playing it a few yrs.

I've played most styles with a lot of build variations. Played around with magica NB more than any other class. Currently I play my saptank and destro resto in PvP.

I use the teleport shade as it's fun. How do the dual shades work? What do they actually do?

Currently bomb blade or ranged gankblade miss the old magicka ambush days though

I use dressing room add-on to bring situational builds to key bindings.... a shield stacking sorc? I'll put on a dot build. If I am in a small group I have two different AOE builds one with siphon heels and the other full Destro and dual wield swords. Am I ganking? All use a good Old Flamestaff from stealth... gotta love that single target stealth attack!

The only key is to find a CP Arrangement that fits all of the above or you're constantly spending 3K a switch. Takes awhile but I have a happy middle.

I play ranged destro/resto with Swallow Soul as my spammable these days, but I had the most fun with magic NB in the Thieves Guild patch and before, when melee range, DW/resto, Concealed Weapon/Ambush/Proxy Det was viable. Still hoping that that playstyle will eventually come back, though I think the devs forgot that it ever existed in the first place.

Nerf? According to some it got major buffs this patch

Edit: but yeah I play a necro spinner 1 grothdar destro/resto, using either swallow soul or crushing shock, mostly shock nowadays though cause I can sustain with 50k+ mag and it just feels more powerful. I will be running 2 infernal 5 necro 3 ancient grace master destro regular resto (for enchant) once I get that fekkin master fire destro >:(

Let's ignore our opinions about class balance and consider what the players who care most about winning actually play. I often see small man groups of mostly templars and mostly sorcs and mostly DKs, but *rarely* is that true of magicka nb.

There's a lot of good players who say magicka nb is strong, but few actually main them because they are almost never FOTM -- except for bombing.

I'd say it depends on what you're trying to do. IMO magic NB can be very good in small groups, as you can bring decent offheals with Funnel Health (also lets you reliably spread Troll King procs), decent single-target burst with Assassin's Will, an AOE CC that reduces the target's damage dealt and goes through block, and a destro ult. It's 1vX situations where magic NB struggles the most IMO, and that's mostly due to bugs (Cloak) or clunky mechanics (Assassin's Will having a cast time for some reason.)
