Group Finder - Awaiting ZOS viewing - Stop Ignoring This Thread.

    Working as intended. ZOS knows how much ewe love RNG and added another layer to group finder. You now have 0.004% chance to successfuly queue a dungeon properly.

    I am here at the request of the customer service department to report a variety of bugs with group finder.

    The current issues my wife and I are experiencing are as follows:
    • Group finder will create a group, travel you to the dungeon, and immidatly remove you from the area
    • Group finder will imminently disband a group when it forms
    • Group finder will kick you out of your dungeons instance and reset the dungeon if you have to replace a group member part way through
    • Random dungeons are not giving EXP or Premium rewards, at all. Occasionally the group leader will receive it but even that has stopped happening now.
    • If for ANY reason, you get removed from the group, you get the wait time penalty. I mean for the love of Mara if you can't fix the freaking group finder at least admit it and let people re-queue right away. Stop punishing us for your broken code.

    This is just a short list of the problems. There are other, more complex ones.

    Why did I bother telling you this, you may ask? Because customer service is crap and all they could tell me was "Try Restarting your XBOX" and "Submit a Bug Report on the forums". Oh, they also completely ignored my actual question and sent me the same canned response 5 times. I would be happy to post the transcript of the emails just to force some accountability for ZOS.

    Question: Who do I talk to to get the lost EXP and Premium Undaunted Supplies credited to my account? More so than that, who do I talk to about getting them credited to my wife's account? This issue has caused her to fall behind me in level and it causing play-ability problems for us. Note that I'm not asking for anything we did't earn. All want is a strait answer and for ZOS to make things right. I get that games have bugs, but it would be nice to see ZOS own up to it and comp the lost rewards.

    What I was just going to post. We formed a group, clicked on Ready....away we go to Vet Wayrest Sewers and once in...."Removing From Area" and then penalized for leaving for 15 minutes. Thanks ZOS! Same group of people...we try again...sends us to Wayrest AGAIN (Even though it was a "Random" Vet dungeon selected") and once again it ported us in, kicked us out and penalized us for 15 minutes.

    Group Finder is a total waste of time!!!

    Oh, and this is on NA PC. Looks like Group Finder is broken across all or most platforms.

    How about since you CAN'T fix this bug you stop penalizing us for it?! Remove this stupid 15 minute timer crap! You know how infuriating it is to queue up as a dps for 30+ minutes, finally get a group, then BOOM kicked out and now I have to wait another 15 minutes just to queue. Complete BS, how about you give everyone free craft bags until you fix this garbage, then maybe that will motivate some people to get things done right.

    Or how about this, just make the random dungeon reward a rotating dungeon every day, and if you complete it you get the reward? Kinda like a pledge, then bring in a group finder like guild wars 2 where you just post you party in a lfg and people can join.

    I've been attempting to queue for veteran blackheart haven today because I need purple Bone Pirate Neck, tried to queue with a healer who grouped with me, both time we got a group and when we landed in the dungeoun, group had been disbanded... not to mention the 15 minute cooldown timer... twice today its pathetic.

    100% right - for EU PC.

    Could you please assign highest priority to these problems? They're what keeps me from actually wanting to play more than any other bug/problem/whatever.

    Update:

    We did some testing last night. The only way we found to get random dailies to work or give rewards is as follows.
    1. Get a group of 4 (do not use group finder).
    2. Queue up for a random.
    3. At this point there is a chance you will get put into a dungeon, it took multiple tries before it worked for us, mostly the group would instantly disband once we got into the dungeon and we would need to regroup.
    4. If you get lucky, the group will just get kicked from the dungeon instead of getting disbanded.
    5. Have the group leader travel back to the dungeon.
    6. Everyone else travel to the group leader through the Group Tab. (This seems to prevent players from ending up in different instances, for the most part)
    7. Play the dungeon.
    8. During the final boss fight, change the group leader to another person.
    9. The 2 people who had leadership during the final boss fight now at least have a chance to get the random dungeon rewards (Not guaranteed). (We need to do some more testing on this. Since you can only do randoms once a day, it takes a while to figure out what is going on.)

    @ZOS_Anyone: Is this working as intended? /sarcasm

    Still also waiting on a reply to my question from a few posts back.

    I have a little more info to add and a possible WORKAROUND:

    1: We have found a WORKAROUND: when in the dungeon make sure in the top right it states: In Progress

    If it states queued have that person leave the group/kicked from the leader. Re-invite them back and travel to leader.
    So far we have received our rewards (xp and loot) everytime that we have done this.

    2: We have been forming four man groups(most of the time from different alliances), before we que. After we que and enter
    the dungeon we are getting the remove from dungeon, but not getting disbanded.

    3: This didn't start till the jester festival, for us.

    4: Also when the bug does happen, we are not assigned roles, healer/tank/dps. Like we didn't que at all.

    I also was asked by customer service to post this info here. It would be nice if customer service posted here, instead of us having to do all the leg work, unless Zenimax wants to pay us too.

    Really don't understand why they are not removing the 15 mins penalty.

    I work in the IT development, I can understand that the issue needs some time to be fixed, as this is a core functionality of the game, and that for sure developers focus now is on Morrowind rather than on fixing bugs on the game. I suspect this issue is not a priority in the developers' todo list at the moment, because Morrowind release date is coming closer and for sure there is still a lot of work to do.

    I can totally understand that, but please, while we all wait for a proper solution, stop penalizing us with 15 mins penalty for issues and errors caused by the finder itself, as they are totally out of our control.

    This should had been done one or two days after the first bug reports, not after two months straight and about a hundred of bug reports and forum posts, while the issue is still open!!

    PLEASE REMOVE THE 15 MINS PENALTY WHILE YOU ARE WORKING ON THE SOLUTION

    Should be easy and will let us have a lot more patience while you are working on fixing the issue.

    It's painfully broken, below are a few examples.
    - it'll say forming group then never transport anyone to any dungeon
    - It'll port everyone to the dungeon then remove everyone from the dungeon immediately
    - It'll stuck on a loop, forming group then automatically changed back to ready check, never ending loop.
    - If queuing for a vet only dungeon it'll port you to a normal dungeon, vice versa.
    - If queuing for a certain dungeon, you might got into another one.
    - Can't queue for another dungeon when your group has completed one.

    Anyone have some ideas about how to force ZOS to take some accountability for this? Considering that they are not responding to our questions or keeping us updated... I considered filing a BBB complaint for poor customer service, considering how I was treated when contacting them, plus the lack of support here - however when I looked, ZOS has 88 BBB complaints in place, and every single review is the most negative score possible (that would be hard to do if you intentionally tried, so in a sad way, its impressive). I really enjoy this game and I don't want to cause the business any more heartache than they clearly already have, but for pity's sake they need to DO SOMETHING NOW. Just get rid of the 15 min timer. Its not a hard choice - the community has already made it for you. All you have to do is push a hot-fix for it.

    The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

There is a lot of new content in this thread since the last time you said anything and it would be nice to see some engagement by ZOS in the matter.

    I have encountered all of this. It's astounding to me that a feature that gets this much use can have features released and it's not tested EVERY SINGLE RELEASE to make sure it is still working properly. I couldn't imagine touching even somewhat important code at work without making sure mission critical features still work and doing a release. The worst is definitely getting penalized for 15 minutes because the group finder kicked everyone out of the group.

    Queued 4 times with a friend today. Got ported out 4 times. Thats 1 hour we were unable to play a dungeon.

    Ya this is ridiculous, 15 minute queue timer, and if ur dps you already waited 30 minutes to get in a group, just to get dropped and have to wait 15 more minutes to requeue. So 1 hour every attempt. I think we need to tell Zos no one will be buying an expansion pack for this broken game. Not going to invest 50 more bucks into a game I cannot even play. This has been going on since homestead release on consoles. FFS, fix this already. I've spent hours trying to do a dungeon with zero success, used to be able to run a couple in that time. This is really starting to *** off your whole community.....

Not only that there are way too few representatives who actually work in the forums to actually stay on top of these threads. What I'm referring to is that its only a handful of the specialists and not a single customer service representative. It would make sense to do it that way to create more of a control to the flow of information. But no they don't even do that. I still expect to have some update regarding this matter, like when they plan on having this fixed, if its been placed on the back burner, if there is a list that they go down and check what they've done and this issue is somewhere on it, etc.

    So Any @ZOS Moderator, would you please make a posting here at least so that we know your keeping up to date with our concerns as Your Customers.

    My point is that they relay the concerns we have to the appropriate dept. Like calling about your credit card bill, you talk to a live rep to help with your bill and if you need it to be addressed to someone higher you ask for a supervisor.
    Blizzard has such an implementation for their website and game, so if this game developer wants to put any effort to becoming better that would be a nice place to start.

    Evidently you aren't getting the picture. So allow me to put it this way. I've only seen a handful of @ZOS moderators on these forums and they very seldom, if at all, post information or keep their customers appraised with what fixes have been made, that they are taking note of the numerous issues that show up, or even letting us know that they are presently aware and are still working on the problem. If they had additional help, they could manage customer interaction better and provide more prompt updates that would alleviate the frustrations that most of the players (myself included) have to deal with because we have no feedback from the moderators.
    Other game developers, Like Blizzard, have such measures in place for that very reason. And because of that the game(s) they provide are still going strong. This game system to my understanding is having trouble maintaining its veteran members because of the continuous bugs and other program/network issues. They can get new players, sure thats true, but holding veteran members is also a big deal because they actually provide more flow of revenue. Another way to look at it is that any business in the world wants to 'Retain' their customers, like a credit card company. They do try to retain their customers by offering all these bells and whistles that good customers can earn, like free frequent flier miles and other stuff of similar ideas.
    As for the "Customer Service" your thinking of is not the one I'm referring to. I haven't the foggiest idea what kind of support that the "Support" department is authorized for but it isn't what this game needs. If it is supposed to be providing the support that I'm suggesting, then it needs a serious overhaul because they are not performing their duties as assigned. And frankly I think the moderators could use more help here anyways. I mean seriously, look at the number of threads overall for the general issue of the Group finder. Its ridiculous.

    This is still a problem after over a month. It happens with premade groups of 3 and 2 at the very least. I only know for sure about those because I played very casually in the last month or so and decided to get some bonus experience from the random queue tonight. The 3 man group just decided to completely disband once the odd person out left the group. With the 2 man group we got in a dungeon, it kicked us out as expected, then one member goes back in and we all travel to him. I did not get the random queue bonus experience or the mailed items upon completion but was still in the random queue the whole time and even after we finished. I could not leave the queue once we had completed the dungeon. I had to log out to clear it.

    The last time I was in a dungeon the whole NA megaserver broke and then tonight this happens. It's just very disappointing to see this many issues still in an online game that I've played only for just over a year.

    Absolutely true. There is a lot of changes needed in how things are addressed in this game as well as their website. At least objectively speaking.
