I am so glad I'm not the only person who checked the list and was relieved nothing I really wanted to buy was locked behind gambling crates this time.

    Congratulations! That is good news!

I hope they keep the Crown Crates' loot table more or less the same for each of the four seasons, when it comes to crate-exclusive stuff. Perhaps the only change they will make to them is adding the stuff that was previously available for direct purchase (so not exclusive to the crates). If they do this, I will only have to worry that something I want will be locked in them for this first year and not every time they put a different kind of crate back in the store. Two gone, two more to go.

Also, I wonder if I can ask support to not give me the Dwemer Crown Crate that comes with the Morrowind preorder. I would rather get 400 Crowns instead.
I hope so too, but am not too hopeful about it. It seems there are too many people who will gamble large quantities of real money when told it's the only way to get the items they want.

I would much rather get the 400 crowns instead of a crate with preorder too, but I think they are supposed to be like the free sample tucked in the bottom of the bag after I buy something at the makeup counter, to get me to try it and hopefully buy more.

    O_O

And that right there is exactly the outcome desired by those that designed this system. You spend way more money than you ever would have plopped down for a mount through a straight purchase and are meant to assuage your buyer's remorse with the gems you've accumulated. Its a disgusting business practice and I wish it would get sent somewhere far, far away.

I don't think it particularly states that the "dwemer crate" will have any special "dwemer" content, so I wouldn't get my hopes up there.

Other than the apex mounts, do we have exclusive collectibles only available in the crates now? I'm not sure if any of the other stuff was in the store before.

Edit: Kudos to @MarkusLiberty btw, this is a lot more helpful than the official list without pictures.

Yes, most of the stuff in these and in the previous crates were never sold in the Crown Store through direct purchase. Although they have nothing to do with the theme of the crate, they are crate exclusive. Examples of these that I can tell you from memory are the Moth Priest robes, Moth Swarm, the Doom Wolf Pup, the colored hair styles and the two eyelashes (actually I think all the style parlor stuff in these crates is exclusive to them).

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.

If @ZOS would take the Wild Hunt Senche, and place it for sale in the Crown Store proper for 2500 Crowns; they'd make magnitudes more money than by putting it in those abysmal Scam Crates.

I don't have access to ZOS's sales numbers, but I have a hunch that my suspicion is spot-on.

I'd take that bet. Been playing these games that have gamble packs for years and it's always the same story. Many people will buy pack after pack hunting that one elusive shiny they really really want.

But, is it trashier than a company intentionally designing a system created to exploit the wallets of the customers, and then behaving as though its for the customer's benefit? I submit that it is not. My issue is not with how people spend their money. You want to spend money on gambling crates, knock yourself out. My issue lies solely with game devs/publishers that continuously push the boundaries of good taste and customer exploitation and then are shocked when player numbers die off.

It didn't even have to be all the items to already make most people happy. They could keep the Apex rewards or perhaps all the themed items exclusive to them, but offer the rest of the items that have nothing to do with the theme of the crate for direct purchase before putting them in the crates.

What the hell is money from the base cost, DLC, subscription, crown store, and now, "chapters" meant to do? They keep slicing content into more ways to pay, so in order to have a full experience, you have to pay more and more money. Yet the quality isn't there, and they keep adding more stuff to the crown store and making the grind worse to push us towards it. We're expected to be placated by copy/pasted player homes with no storage and little functionality, furniture crafting that makes a bad inventory issue worse and is so grindy it pushes people to the store (I'm sure that was an accident), an "expansion" that is not much larger than past DLC's and includes content from early builds of the game, lag issues so severe they're trying to fix it by cutting a major feature from the game, builds that should be viable continue to be worthless...I can go on, but you get the idea.

Oh yes, they didn't put any exclusive mounts other than the Apex ones in the crates this time, I think. Last time, they put the Red Pit Wolf and the Black Mane Lion in them, which was an awful thing to do :/

Maybe they heard the outcry. Maybe they are saving them for the next two seasons of crates. I don't know. But yes, at least the first sabre cat mount is not in it.

Interestingly enough, with the Atronach crates, I received the Apex mount I wanted, the Senche, with the 2nd 15-pack of Crates. Further, at least ZOS gives you 'Gems' back for duplicates or unwanted consumables so that you can always eventually buy what you DO want.

Funny how some people have the, "don't buy these, it will force ZOS to give us what we want"... when in reality, WHAT GAME has ever either stopped a method of income or made changes simply because some players boycott? NONE. The reality is, if players want something, they WILL spend the money to get it or go without... nobody is forced to buy these crates... but if you want something contained within, then expect to fork out the money to get it, either via RNG or saving up Gems.

I've actually put over $2,000 into this game so far, so don't make it sound like I'm insulting the heroes of eso support. You aren't a hero for buying these crates, you aren't supporting the game, you're supporting ZOS thinking *** like this is a good idea. In the end, you purchasing these crates will make the game worse, less ingame content, more crown store horse ***.

But, keep feeling superior for your crate purchases. You are making the future of the game worse.

I was just making a joke, I guess buyer remorse makes you really sensitive. It's humour jackass, learn about it, or get thicker skin.

What a stupid answer . Nobody is forced to buy crates. Most of them are only cosmetic. Then i wrote that i have sub and i only have this, because i want to support ESO. Server costs money and also people who working for the game. Assets & Parts of the engine which are under license. And it shows how stupid you think....superior lol.... Because of a mount? Heck no im to old for such idiotic view.

Nice try at a back peddle. You told me to get a job and that I insulted the people supporting the game.

But w/e I really don't care. We have different opinions. I sub eso+ and occasionally make purchases to support the game, hoping one day ZOS makes enough they start toning down the crown store. Buying into these crates just encourages them. It was a joke I made, based on my opinion. Just as you have yours I have mine. My opinion is that items like these crates in the crown store will hurt the player in the long run, because ZOS gets the idea it's viable. The more of these types of things that sell in the store, the less items they put into the game, more into the crown store. I'd much rather find the odd mount in the world some day, or pet, or outfit, or bloody anything. There is less to do in game because there is so much content allocated to the real money store. I already bought the game and pay monthly for eso+, how much money do you think ZOS needs to, "support the game?" Eventually it stops being support of the game, and pure profit. Profit one would hope would start appearing in game, but when they see people will pay hundreds of dollars for less than 5% chance at items, when and why would they ever start putting items into the game to find/loot instead?

I guess my point is, in app purchase models are a slippery slope toward ruining a game for the player. In my opinion we are already at least 1/2 way down that slope.

But again, everyone is entitled to an opinion, I didn't "insult" anyone, certainly not people in support of this game, which I love. I just hate the marketing model ZOS corporation wraps the game within. I made a joke based on my opinion, that's it. I also still think my joke was funny, because it was real.

Man, the apex mounts look amazing. I'd happily pay 2.5k crowns each for the bear and the senche, but they can sod off with their <1% apex drop rate crates.

... would even pay 4k for them. This system is just bad. We already have a crown store, but rather integrate RNG skins which look awesome and arent obtainable in any other way. I wouldnt be surprised if DLCs or new skill lines will also be crate exclusive soon >.> ... -.-
