Bought one.
What did I learn (personal opinion)?
Fun to play about with? Yes, definitely do I have fun decoration the thing.
Crafting?
Nope. Highly frustrating because one needs a High Level Crafting Character
in several disciplines. The best crafting patterns need one Char being able to craft in two, or even three
Crafting disciplines.
Harvesting Crafting resources?
Highly frustration to the point I want to flay the people who made this so. What where they thinking?
Most likely a business decision on their part so people buy from the Crown Shop.
Housing functionality?
At the moment just a Prop with no real purpose other than having fun decorating
and to brag about being a clever decorator.
Final assessment (my personal opinion) 20% of what housing actually could be, and
100% not worth buying unless you are an avid decorator.
So, if you like decorating (like I do) buy.
If you do not like decorating you will find houses (at this time) mostly useless.

Million plus gold.

oh, and I also pre-ordered Morrowind, but not because I think housing is lame because I don't. I'm having a blast decorating my homes!

Used that furniture to start on Hundings.
Can't see spending $50-$80 on a virtual item

Therefore, I'm just taking my time to earn up money, crafting mats, and find the different blueprints etc. I figure I'll buy a house eventually when I've amassed a large fortune and am max crafting. Also haven't purchased Morrowind yet but am 90% sure I will.
I bought one with gold and I gave my wife gold to buy one. So that's LORD ookami007 to you
Honestly, it's not as good as it should be. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed that I can't even add all of my mounts to it.
Some of us aren't hardcore, just have been around forever building up gold with nothing big to spend it on until now.Nelson_Rebel wrote: »Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »I bought one with crowns. I think this was to balance out the hardcore players who played all the time with millions of gold, and people who had money but did not play as much to afford with gold. This in turn screwed everyone in the middle with neither, which unfortunately is the vast majority of cases from what I've been able to gauge both ingame and forums

I think some of the distaste for the pricing is because housing wasn't introduced until almost three years into the game. And those of us who have been here since the beginning have a built in advantage in obtaining houses with gold that does not necessarily come from greater effort or skill.
With the limited functionality housing currently has though, many people do not consider having a house to be much of an advantage.
