ZOS, could you please fix this? Maybe add a version of the chandelier with shorter chain...

Meanwhile, is there a workaround? Or I just can't hang chandeliers on first floor rooms if there's another room on the second floor?

Thank you.

Only workaround is to put something else, like maybe a flower or a shelf, ontop of that chain in the second floor.
That is if you dont want to have the chandelier hanging lower, which would actually look nicer and also more realistic in my opinion.

First off, you're hanging it too high. Chandeliers with candles have to be low enough to actually light.

For a workaround, try putting a desk or shelf there. Get creative.

Could be a table ... or a torturing device, so many options.

This is a tough one though, how would the house know which way around you are sticking the chandelier. I know that sounds funny but I'm serious.

What they said about putting something over the chain. Really, that's a great spot for a divider, to make a little mini room in that alcove. :)

If I hang it lower it will touch the ground, LOL!

ZOS should just add chandelier versions (same) with shorter chain. That would fix the problem imho. :)

I have the same house, with about 4 chandeliers in it...none of my chains are visible above, and none of them are even low enough to collide with anyone's heads. And I play a Nord.

Also, I've got Nord chandeliers which have antlers below them...still not too low.

It is weird that the chain on the orc chandelier is so long when all the orc houses have quite low ceilings. I suppose it is intended to be used on the upper floors so it hangs down from the rafters.

I think your best bet is to put it as long down as you reasonably can without it looking silly/being in the way, and then put something over the chain on the 2nd floor.

Is it too much to ask for screenshots? Because, honestly, lower than where they are now in my screenshots is excesive.

I'd like to see how they look in your house.

    Thanks in advance.

I had this problem in my house also. Some of the chains are really long, like on the Redguard chandeliers. No way for them to go in a non-vaulted room that isn't on the top floor of a house.

I guess they have to have different size chains on some for different applications, but all of the ones I have tried to put in my house are too long to go on a main floor, when there is a floor above it. And the ceilings are too low for the most part to hang it low enough where you don't see the chain in the room above. My character feels like she's bumping into it, and she's short!

I also personally don't want to have to cover it with something above. That, in many cases, will look silly depending on the design above, and will eat into the already stingy item limit. Not to mention, some of them are so long they go way too high to even cover realistically.

Wish there was a way they could have made it so the chains were just cut off when it hit a surface. I know, easier said than done. ;)

None of my nordic antler chandeliers do this in Forsaken. Good height as well on the bottom. Maybe it's this particular style chandelier that just has an excessively long chain.

Correct @cjthibs; Forsaken Stronghold. It's an orcish house as you know, with two big rooms on first floor, but, surprisingly, none of the orcish chandeliers work on those ceilings.

Yeap, the only two orcish chandeliers on the game and can't be used on the first floors of the orcish homes, even when the first floor rooms are way bigger than the small rooms of the second floor (and chandeliers are supposed to go on big rooms).

I'm pretty sure my orcish home, which is smaller than yours, uses those same chandeliers and they look just fine lower.

This is the higher I can put it since, if I put it just a little higher, the chain will appear on the upper floor.

In my opinion, it's way too low and looks bad. It almost touches the top of the chair. My Nord and High Elf guests will need to crawl if so. :D

There's the chair in the screenshot for comparision.

My character won't touch the chandelier but it will be close.

Chandeliers are supposed to hang higher, not about to touch human heads or just a one or two meters above chairs.

Reminds me of the chandelier in my old apartment. I basically had two options: add a hook to the ceiling and loop the chandelier chain, or put my dining room table directly under it so nobody would walk into it and hit their head.

As I did not intend to host any really fancy dinners (the chandelier would have okay clearance for most things but would be too close to things like large turkeys or tall cakes in the center of my table) I went with the easier option and just had it hang down low over my table.

I have 3 chandeliers on the first floor. One on the living room and on the trophy room. I won't put three desks or three "something" I don't want in the middle of the rooms above just because of this issue. I'd like to decorate the rooms normally.

Try place the table under the low hanging chandelier. It would center the room better.
