Will ZOS Change Their Mind and Give Class Change?

As per the thread title, with the already long request for it and now with the Warden announcement and the additional flood of requests for a class change token, do you think ZOS will change their stance and allow this?

This isn't a poll to say if you want them, it's a poll to see if you think ZOS will.

People need to stop being lazy and make a new character. Makes sense to level a new class from scratch since you gotta learn how to play a warden to begin with.

You did the poll wrong. One of the options is supposed to be insulting so we don't use it.

I don't think they will and I personally don't really want it. The systems that are in place seem to work well and I think they'd add the ability to change motifs before they'd do this.

Probably not, but I don't really see why not. It's relatively easy to quit your day job and take up something new irl, so I don't see the issue with allowing it in-game too. As long as you start your new job class with an empty skill set.

Nope, but since i can't tell the future and if ZOS does allow Class Change i hope its in a way that your character gets a total reset to Lv.1....... to troll you.

There's no need to reset the character to level 1 if all of your class skills are at level 1, is there? The purpose of a class change over a reroll would be to maintain progression through the rest of the content; quests, weapon/armour skills, etc. It should be expected that you would have to start learning the class skills from scratch, but why the rest?

Everyone always forgets about motifs, research, riding, achievements, ECT. It's not always about just level a new guy up. Some *** is character only and takes way to long to get again.

I honestly think ZOS will add class change tokens if there money to be made....and there is.

Also, I don't understand how someone who wants to buy class change couls have an effect on someone who doesn't....so why not let them make the money.

Should probably post in my own thread (was distracted by the political thread).

I actually think ZOS will do this, I think there is enough pressure that they'll give in.

Yes. ZOS will add class change tokens.
From a business perspective it makes all sense. The fact they didn't release the Cavern and Island means they WANT people to burn crowns desperately. The fact they put crown crates means they want us to spend as much money in the cash shop as possible. The fact there are already race, appearance and name change tokens hints at other class and alliance based tokens. Make it like 10,000 Crowns to change Class or Alliance, put a 1-3 month cooldown and be done with it. They will make so much money!

For the anti crowd, how I spec my character is NOT your business. Also the usual argument of "you should have picked your race and class correctly before and done research bla bla bla" would be only valid if ZOS didn't turn the classes upside down every 6 months. And ZOS, I will not pay crown riding lessons as alts are not my thing, you would have my money on a class change token for Warden though, want to take it?

I wouldn't bet on it. They probably make more in people buying horse training, a new house for the alt, bag upgrades, and leveling consumables than they would on a class change token.

Seems like they'd actually be hurting themselves if they did offer the class change token, in my opinion.

You could make the argument that zos could make money by charging for a class change, but it's not actually all that simple.

Whenever you have to make a new character, zos is profiting from you spending more time in the game. You pay for eso+ or experience scrolls, you pay for mount training scrolls if you don't want to spend 180 days on it, you spend time and sometimes money releveling crafting skills and getting motifs, and using eso+ for a craft bag.

It is much more profitable for them to keep forcing us to level new characters than it would be to sell class change tokens

I really wish they would provide the option, and not some ripoff crown purchase to do so either.

Everybody's response of "L2P" and "git gud" is about ***. Saying it takes 6 hours to level up and 3 to get all skyshards is not an excuse (not to mention I think those times are total ***). Even if that was the case, that's 9 hours I could be playing the game doing NEW things instead of stuff that I've already been done.

I've seen the comment several times that starting the character over is a good way to learn the class. I hate to be that guy, but this game isn't exactly "deep" with skills. Simply coming up to a shrine, switching your class and have your class skills start at 1 (if you haven't already leveled the class on that toon) would give you more than enough experience with your new class's skills. Grinding your skills up ONCE is enough to let you adjust and learn the ropes. Forcing a player (if they want to try a different class) to redo all their quests, achievements, sky shards, and crafting is the cheapest/lamest thing I've seen for an MMO. It's cheap cop-out from adding new content.

I played the beta plus the first year and just came back this past weekend. It's still pretty clear ZOS is either confused or just straight up doesn't give a damn about their players and only want the money. I think the crown store makes the answer very clear. Players have been on here since Day 1 begging for features (that make sense) and are constantly ignored. 3 years since release and I still see the same issues it had in Beta. But, I won't call their game a failure, because they're making money hand over fist.

So no, you won't get your class change unless they give you the option to pay for it with real money.

To be fair, I think there is a higher chance for ZoS to make skyshards/mount riding skills account wide than a class token. Honestly I'd take either but at the end of the day, I see neither of them happening purely to keep the grind. More grind, more time spent, more money spent, they need a hook to keep people playing.

    So let's think this through.

You buy a class change token and it turns out the Warden sucks. You gonna buy another and go back? Or *** on the forums how you were lied to and had to pay real money for yada yada yada. My money's on the latter. Best to just not do it in the first place.

Yes. ZOS will add class change tokens.
I think they will change their mind eventually. They changed their minds so many times in the past, after all. And we know very well that "we have no plans to do this" means "wait a few months and ask again".
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I don't think they ever will, and I don't really want them to. I think it's going to be great and extremely refreshing when Morrowind comes out, and almost everybody will be running around as a brand new character, with a brand new class they don't know how to use yet, on a brand new map.

They probably will. It's evident that ZOS is willing to turn tail on my nearly everything "promised" for the sake of money. Of course, if they do this when the game is desperate or when it's thriving is anybody's guess.
