Should racial passives be changed for the expansion?

    High Elf and Redguard still tower over the other races for most magicka and stamina builds respectively.

    Nord, Orc, Imperial, Breton, Khajiit, Bosmer and Argonian could be buffed a bit more.

    Dunmer for the other 3 mag classes since the elemental damage they do is either all fire or mostly fire. Altmer is a good second Breton is a good third choice.

    Khajiit is BiS for stam going for max damage. Redguard is a good second but it's best claim to fame is best for stam sustain while in melee.

    Also Wood Elf is a nice ganker race

    Can't comment on PVE builds as I have almost no experience at all with endgame PVE.

    In PVP, however, the high elf recovery + max offensive stat + elemental damage makes them the top race option for nearly any magicka build excluding magDK, healer or vicious death bomb build. Same is true for Redguard and most stamina builds.

    These two races have been a bit too strong compared to the others for a long time, even after improvements to various races with Update 11.

    I've seen khajiit healers and magika dps in competitive raidIng guilds and actually raidIng with them. That's the antithesis of BiS.

    Even with top core teams what really matters is numbers and lack of deaths. If you can get it done with a unique style it doesn't really matter.

    Sure it shouldn't matter, and if people can stay alive is all that should matter and do the right thing. However there have been posts on here that have stating about being kicked from even PuG dungeon runs because they are not the optimal race / class combo.

    Yes. I've seen those threads as well and it's unfortunate that average players behave in such a manner and kick people based merely off perception be actual skill.

    Heck they shouldn't even be that important in a mmo. A single player game maybe. That's the problem with this game. You either use magic or stamina. You can't do both well. It goes against what a tes game is and that's about freedom to play your way. You really can't do that here.

    I personally think there should be some things that are the same but it would be nice to either see additional passives(1 or 2) or see a couple of them changed up with the expansion. I would prefer the former so that you can keep the existing passives, but changing up 2-3 of the passives might be a nice way to mix things up.

    Make every race have a unique health, stamina, and magicka racials. Make it to were you can only attune to one set of racial bonuses at a time. Every race has their warriors, casters, and rogues. If I was an altmer, but grew up taking sword lessons my whole life, is my blood really that enchanted to still make me better at casting? Meh. Mabye make some in-game ritual, that allows some kind of exchange of blood, allowing any racial on any race. Just throwing ideas here.

    nah, Khajiit need to keep the Racial Carnage, they just need a small Attribute bonus like a 5% Heath Attribute bonus instead of their Health recovery bonus.. then all done..

    It's not limited only be race choice. Stats beyond max resource pool such weapon/spell power, weapon/spell CHC, and even CP bonuses are split between Magicka and Stamina. Weapons scale with either Stamina or Magicka, gear favors increases for one or the other as well.

    It's split like this because both are meant to offer a different balance of strengths and weaknesses. In order for hybrids to be able to complete against Stamina and Magicka builds the systems in place to keep them separated would need to be removed. Which on the same hand removes the choice of being either Stamina or Magicka.

    End of the day it's either Stamina or Magicka builds, or all Hybrids. All 3 cannot exist in ESO and each be equally viable.

    You are missing the point. The point is, you will be able to build your Imperial either Magicka or Stamina, right now the Imperials are a pure-Stamina race, while lore-wise, the Imperials are decent at magic.

    Off-topic, with Pelinals set, a hybrid build which is built correctly is pretty decent (sure, pure builds still have some advantages though).

    By hybrid they literally mean a mix of Stamina and Magicka damage dealing skills. Not either or. I know this because the poster has stated as much in other threads.

    I don't care what Lyserus said in other threads, right now the idea of making Imperials hybrid is a good idea. It simply means that you can build your Imperial either stam or mag. Example, they have bonus to mag regen and max stam. Something like that.

    For ballance, all races need 3 passives - for damage, sustain and protection, without reference to the magic or stamina.

    Lore can exist just fine without endgame stats being tied to a player's first decision in the game.

    I don't care if there are 300,000 redguard magsorcs running around. None of my business what other people want their characters to look like.

    I think passives should be based on a race's theology rather than biology. If Khajiit want to be better spell caster they could put points into something like "Follower of Magrus". You would have passives available for all of the traits (max magicka, max stamina, health, all kinds of regen, etc.) that the different races have but have them available to all of the races and not locked behind a particular race. The passives would of course be lore-friendly, and would open up more possibilites in game (i.e. non-high elf mag. sorc.)

    Just an idea.
