If you mean balance changes by adjusting certain parameters on skills -> yes
Removing/adding skills to existing classes -> no
Introducing a whole new class -> yes

So far we have heard nothing about class change.

In fact, the last info we have is them saying that this is something they don't intend to do.

Now, they might perhaps change their mind about this with the introduction of a new class coming... but they might not.

We have heard they intend on selling two more character slots with Morrowind, so the signs point to "not"...

However... a lot of people have spent a lot of time on a lot of characters, and might feel mighty vexed about having to make characters 13 and 14 just to enjoy the warden class... so... who knows, they might indeed at some point add a class change service to the crown store. But at this point in time, that is only wishful thinking on our parts...

Personally I would add a ingame class change that is gated as a gold sink. So that it gives the feeling that I have a choice to play different skills like other elder scrolls. They can have in game trainers of each class that teach you their art with a fee.

IF they ever make class change, which is not very likely, it will come for a crown service token. And more likely then not, at a very hefty price. As the game is now, there is no way they wouldn't make people pay through their noses for that if they ever even implemented it...

If class change was a thing you would most likely have to level all the skills for the warden.

Samething as grinding it up to 50, no?

And what if you dont like the warden ? Ask for a class change to change back? I dunno seems risky

I would assume that if they do it it would be similar gold cost "service" as the attrib and skill reset or some kind of crown store token system and if I want to change back then I would just need to pay again.

Doubt that it would be that hard to implement since it's basically some db joins as it is making the join when you create the character, unless there has been some really idiot db designer that has included all character information into one table or so.

Yes skills would need to be trained but it is much faster and less boring to do while you already are lvl 50 max cp.

Skill points takes a few days, your first character should be the crafter because of research times.
This way the others don't need so many skill points either.
    Achievements are just for fun.

Grinding just make you go in circles.

However... a lot of people have spent a lot of time on a lot of characters, and might feel mighty vexed about having to make characters 13 and 14 just to enjoy the warden class...

    Two additional points...

What was promised was spellcrafting which among other things included a bunch of nature type spells.

So many players - myself included - made nature themed characters using existing classes in preparation for spellcrafting's release. But we still don't have spellcrafting and now nature themed spells are going into a new, separate nature themed class instead. That class FYI was originally planned for release but cut before public beta.

This means we're getting different and less than originally promised and in a manner which flushes our preparations down the toilet.

Just delete the character and start over?

It's not just levels involved. They're pretty trivial actually. There's also time-gated and tedious things like horse feeding and trait research. Some players might also have tracked down all the skill points and lore books. Completed achievements.

That's understandable. Because they keep swinging the nerf bat at different classes and it would be highway robbery to do that and then charge players for the option to change classes.

An option to change class as a one-off - possibly even only to warden from anything else - could solve the problems surrounding this new class without creating other ones.

In the advertisement ZOS even stated that it would be a good time to start a NEW character because of the new class, in other words, they are saying you will NOT be able to convert an existing class character to the new Warden class.

I wouldn't mind that, as long as I keep my store motif that isn't up for sale anymore and my event achievement titles that also can't be gotten anymore.

A class change service exclusive to the new class every time a new class is released would be the ideal way to implement it. Put a big red warning that the change is permanent and knock the class skills back to zero.

It shouldn't be much harder than race change, since race change already affects a skill line (granted, only a passive skill line, but still).
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

So many seems to be saying if class change would be possible then people would be jumping to the class that is best at the time. How that differ eg already having 8 chars, 2 chars of every class one for mana and one for stam and jumping between them what ever is the best at the moment?

Sure once warden comes I will prolly buy slot and start new char and bite my teeth while following through the main quests of the zones for skill points and running after every skyshard and collecting those books for mage guild. Get some exp potions and grind the rest of the levels and skills. No problem I've done that so many times already.

Indeed, and I have two characters like that.

Thus, class change would be nifty...

But if we never get it, I will just "redo" them as wardens, use the current ones as mules, until I get a better idea and rebuild them (like, if they ever add new races for example...)

I really don't understand why people are so against a class change. The excuse I keep seeing is "people will just switch whenever a nerf or buff hits. I hate to tell you but, the people that would do that probably have a character for every class already, so it doesn't matter.

I would love to play another class, but I can't stand the thought of having to do everything all over again. Horse training again, collecting sky shards again, God awful quests again, crafting again if I wanted it, so forth and so on.

There's no reason at all anyone should have to be put through that to make another class, especially when they're adding one three years after release. It wouldn't be very difficult to add a shrine that lets you switch classes, gives you your class skill points back, and be on your way. Yes, you would have to level the new class skills up, but that's no nowhere near as bad as starting EVERYTHING at level one.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see a class change token for sale in the crown store soon. Sounds like something they would do.
