I always killed Vivec for his sparkly glove, Wraithguard. I never did find the other one though. My greatest TES regret, sadface.

Did he even write his dialogue in Morrowind? I know he wrote the sermons, but writing something down is obviously different for the warrior-poet.
His dialogue didn't strike me as especially weird.

Vivec is weak, now that we know he is vunrable to disease makes him even weaker, I even killed him with a level 1 werewolf in Morrowind.

As happy as I am to see Vivec, I really wanted to meet Sotha Sil, you know, before Almalexia goes crazy.

If we had to choose between Alemaxia, Sotha Sil and Vivec, I would choose Vivec.
Alemaxia went mad in the end, even killing secluded madman that Sotha Sil was, is and will be. Vivec stayed moderatly sane even after playing "cave explorer" with Molag Bal. For some reason, I got the idea that Vivec is the one that care the most about his ppl.

I don't like him. He is part of Almsivi, and they are betrayed Morrowind by killing Nerevar to achieve their arrogant attempt to be above the gods that resulting in cursing chimers into dunmers and later brought nothing but terrible things (Baar Dau in the end will fall anyway). Dunmer nation will suffer from their betrayal for centures after their death/dissapearing.
At least he had balls to write in his sermons that Amsivi betrayed and killed Nerevar by their won hands.
I don't have regret of what happened with any of them.

I really like Vivec. He also has some redeeming qualities in TES: III that Sotha Sil and Almalexia maybe lack, although Sotha Sil is sort of a mystery.

Yes. As of right now we don't know that the Tribunal are a bunch of lying, murdering criminal scum. So we have to behave as the world expects, and treat them like the heroes that they claim they are.

Yes, he was responsible for concept art, writing, quest design and a LARGE ammount of the lore [such as Aedras, Daedras, cultures]. He's pretty much responsible for giving Morrowind that "alien" feel that so many people love. Morrowind marked when the game's lore evolved from a "story" to a "universe" thanks to much of the backstory work he did for the game.

His work was substantial enough that Bethesda still uses it to this day in their games [the Daedra and Aedra's expanded backstories, Akavir, Yokuda, Mankar Camoran and his Xarxes, The Psijic Order, Pelinal's DLC in Oblivion, the Thalmor in Skyrim, the Chim-el adabal, several cultural aspects in ESO, etc].

And yes, Vivec was entirely his creation.

It's kinda sad to see so many people dissing him now, when I do feel he's responsible for much of the franchise's success.

I will help him achieve CHIM.

It is only proper for any Dunmer who can help him, to help him. After all Vivec has given us in his Sermons, we owe him that much at a minimum.

While attaining CHIM is a purely personal journey, I can at least make sure his path is cleared of any/all obstacles.

Agree, Morrowind would have been a completely different game if he wasn't involved in it. I do feel that some of his die-hard fans take his work more seriously than he does himself, though.

I love MK's writing but in his non-canon texts Vivec is a bit too Mary-Sueish for my tastes. XD
He's a great character but he's a bit overhyped imo.
